Mike the owner is very friendly and is very knowledgeable about cars. His staff is also very nice and they are all really hard workers. He pointed out things that were overlooked and missed concerning my Mom's car (she had an oil leak a small time after she had just changed her oil and did maintenance at a fast chain auto shop) Mike was able to give a turn around time within a day, which was really surprising and a relief for me and my Mom. Mike Ji was awesome! I see the bad reviews and I understand their pain but dealing with lots of auto body places I know that many of them get so busy that it's tough to follow up with everyone. I'm not trying to make excuses for Mike or for anyone else but as a realtor it is challenging to get to everyone's calls, texts, emails, DMs, messenger, tweets all the time. Mike is a stand up guy and he repaired my Lexus the next day from when I told him there was a problem. Not only did he set me up with an appointment "after hours", when he was still working at the other location he called one of his employees to come to me and repair my car. They didn't have a part so the employee drove to the other location and went to get a bulb and back to my car and fixed it on the spot. Talk about service! GX Auto is one of the oldest autobody shops of quality. i've seen the range of cars at this shop. they've had hondas all the way to lambos and ferraris in there. they've done work on my mkiv (supra turbo), my GS300, my CLK, and even to this day, my 4runner. if you're looking for quality work from an auto body shop, you'll want to check GX Auto out. After Honolulu Ford ruined my back bumper, I took my car here to get fixed on Friday right before they closed. Mike quoted that my car would be fixed by Tuesday after memorial day and said he'd keep me updated on whether or not it would be ready before, on time, or after. Got a call yesterday (saturday) saying that the fix was easier than expected and my car would be done sunday. Not only did he fix the mess up that Honolulu Ford made, but he fixed the other side of my bumper that was scratched years prior as an added bonus. My bumper looks great and it was done a few days ahead of schedule! I highly recommend this place because it's evident he takes pride in his work! My car looks great and I really appreciate him fixing my bumper completely even though only one side was supposed to be fixed. Thank you! read more

Ok, we've been coming to Mike for the last 7+ years (when he was at his old location). He's always been fair and always tells you if it's worth it. He's done body work, paint work and exhaust work for myself and friends. Never had any issues and always had great results. Recently I took my car to him for some body work and told him I was maybe shipping it to Washington in a few months. He told me "I'd be happy to do it, but honestly it will be half the cost if you wait till its up there. I'd like the work, but it's gonna be cheaper if you can wait." And honestly, the price he was quoting for it was cheap and if I wasn't thinking about shipping it, I would have had him do it. All I have to say is take your car here! He understands building relationships and that charging $100-$300 less than someone else will bring you that customer back again and again instead of gouging. Also, if the job is going to take him a week or so he has loaners that you get so life is THAT much easier! read more

I totally loved the experience I had with Mike and GX Auto and would recommend them to anyone who needs high-quality body work. My Audi got rear-ended by a guy who then fled the scene and left me with $5,000 of repairs (the day I after I had spent the weekend polishing and waxing the car and made it look terrific). Mike worked closely with my insurance company to make sure that all of the items damaged in the accident got repaired or replaced - especially the parts you couldn't see until the rear bumper was removed. 1 star only because they always answer the phone & are very kind & assuring that they will relay the messages & or someone will call right back, which isn't always the case! Very poor service! Horrible communication & lack of professionalism! I was asked for my email & registration & immediately I sent it over then was told I would get a quote ASAP but I waited over a week & no quote so I contacted them & spoke with a lady & she said she would get back to me but that never happen! Then a couple days later I received a call from the guy that asked for my info & he apologized with reassurance that he would get the quote to me & now it's been over a month with still no quote! I took my car Mustang convertible here after I rear ended someone and smashed my hood and radiator. :-( Honolulu Ford recommended them to me and when I showed up with my car on the tow truck, Mike quickly came out to greet us. We spoke about things for a few minutes and he told me a time frame of about 3 weeks since parts will most likely have to come from the mainland. My Geico insurance agent went there that day to provide the estimate and he also spoke highly of the service they provide. During my wait I was not stressed since I new my car would be taken care of. A few weeks later, I got a call saying that my car could be picked up in 2 days. When I went to pick it up the detailer was finishing up the tires. I'll give this 5 stars, because for my specific experience, I had no issues. In actuality, it's more of a 4/4.5. Short reason for the slight drop, just communication. Don't misunderstand, Mike was generally responsive, usually a 2-3 day turn around. I wasn't in a rush to get my parts painted so it wasn't a deal breaker. Set up a day to drop off my parts, I did so, filled out some paper work and waited. Again, I wasn't in a rush so I didn't feel the need to breathe down their necks. I did eventually call about 2 weeks after dropping off my parts to just get an update. Luckily, it was just about to be painted so that was just good timing. Again, I had already voiced that I was in no rush to have my pieces painted. I'm sure if you're on a tighter schedule, they could fit you in sooner. I picked up my pieces yesterday and I am very pleased. One piece was already flawless and no prep was needed. The other piece did require prep and they did a good job. I've had another similar piece painted else where, THREE TIMES and they STILL couldn't get it right. GX? First time and it was better than the other place! Lani was a wonderful receptionist and I'll definitely come back for future jobs. read more

Great shop and everyone seems very knowledgeable on cars! I recently bought a Scion xB that has A lot of aftermarket things in engine. when my car broke down triple A told me it was the alternator that was broken. I originally took it to lex Brodie and they didn't know how to fix it and recommended me to find a shop that can fix modified cars. I couldn't tow it ( due to my car being so low and not wanting to pay more/time) so they put a brand new battery in which took 5 hours because they were backed up (they were good and helpful). During waiting for he battery I called this shop and talked with Mike the owner, and he def put my mind at ease and said he knew how to fix aftermarket engines. He told me I could bring it In ASAP so when my battery was in I chanced the drive to his shop (10 mins away) with no alternator. thank god I made it and immediately mike looked at my engine and saw what needed to be fixed, things that other people didn't even catch. I felt very confident leaving my car with them, two days later he fixed the main things so my car will drive smoothly. I was grateful the price was good and could tell he wasn't trying to rip me off or anything. Anyways long story short gonna be going to this shop to get get things on my car now that I kno this place knows what there talking about! Peace read more

This place really sucked! Mike talked a good game but never came through. Quoted me for two weeks and kept my car for 45 days. Then after all of that, the job still wasn't done. My roof that they "painted" was all messed up because they cut some serious corners. they burnt through the clear coat on my door with their buffer. They also attempted to repair my rear bumper but they messed that up to. So I took it back and this time he quoted me half a day but kept the car for almost 2. Plus the errors of their work weren't even fixed. I paid the dam near 6,000 and now I'm in the process of taking them to court because it's going to cost me another 1000 to fix there messed up work. Been a huge run around and a bunch of bs. After 45 days there shouldn't have been anything wrong. Go at your own risk. read more
