I initially…read morewent with Nick because I wanted someone who would be doing the work themselves and not sub-contracting the job out like a lot of bigger companies. AA Exteriors was also one of the only companies willing to find a solution creating a roof that seamlessly blended and fused into my existing build for a reasonable price. Nick and his crew definitely delivered, and they were out on the job site from start to finish. While the permitting process through Anne Arundel County took a while and was by far the most difficult part, Nick worked quickly and efficiently on everything he could control including the: planning/design, demo, foundation build, decking boards, roof construction, screening, and punch out work. Through each step of the process, Nick kept the work area clean and I never felt like my dogs were at risk of injury when letting them outside to go to the bathroom. During the job, Nick made some excellent recommendations including recessed lighting around the roof of the porch and using decking boards instead of lattice to close in the deck. He also handled some extra tasks like cleaning the gutters, power washing the siding, laying down mulch and grass seed, and planting shrubbery. All this to say that Nick truly cares about the job he does and making sure the customer is happy with the finished product. But, he will write a vague contract with his own interpretation. Example, I requested to have all the carpet in my basement removed, and the contract read "pull out floor and trash take away". He did remove carpet from one area, and when I asked about the rest he said "no no that's not what I meant" He even left nails from the tack board in by concrete and said "ist not mine, it's yours" So, he removes the carpet and not everything that goes with it????? I gave him guidance that I wanted a straight wall and he explained to me how he was going to do it, but when they framed it I could clearly see that once they dry-walled it wouldn't be straight at all. So instead of fixing it prior to dry walling he dry-walled and plastered it, and again I could clearly see it wasn't straight. Now after two days of dry walling this specific area I pointed it out to him and he says "oh, what do you want me to do" What!!!! He installs recessed lighting, about 16 cans and I asked what kind of trim pieces are you going to install? He tells me "no, you buy" I'm like "me?" he says "no no thats your responsibility" How do you give a customer an unfinished light fixture. I can keep going on and on, but hopefully you will get the idea and not use this guy. Oh and the female he has working for him is very disrespectful. When I complained about the quality of work she says "he trying not to pay" I had already paid him more than $5000. Now, before this she acted as if she couldn't speak English. She even had the nerve/guts to speak negatively about me to Angel in Spanish, but they didn't know that I speak Spanish also. Please stay clear. If he is doing work for you now ask very specific questions.

He was thorough in explaining the quote, including the "forks in the road" that might lead to a more expensive total cost. The pricing (including the possible expansion in scope & cost) was completely transparent. When it turned out that we had some rotten fascia and a flat roof that would need replacement, the team was diligent in sharing very clear photographs of the damage, as well as transparent that the flat roof repair we needed was not in their wheelhouse. They paused the work so that we could get the flat roof repaired and then resumed installation as soon as the other contractor had finished the work. I can't imagine a better experience.

The contract and approval were online, which I appreciate. The work was scheduled and done in four days, and the work is excellent. Tyler checked in with me twice a day to see how things were going.
