My insurance company wanted to just insert new siding strips in the areas where the siding fell off. This would have been a disaster as the remaining siding was 25 years old and there was no exact matching of the siding. Through the advice of Mike we were able to better negotiate with our insurance company and was able to have the entire side of the home re-sided. It took several months of negotiating with the insurance company but both Mike and Jason stayed on it and today we have our home repaired to better than new condition. The two gentlemen who worked on the siding were very patient and careful. The work was completed at the highest level with clean neat caulking and siding that fits snugly against the wall. I have just enough construction knowledge to make me dangerous, so I went for it and started the interview process for a contractor to repair my roof (from shoddy new construction using builder-grade materials). From the very first call and the inspection by my project manager, Isaiah, I felt at ease. His assessment was thorough (problem: cheap, weather-torn shingles and broken seal around roof pipes caused leaking in my top floor bedroom). His pics were so good that my insurance adjuster had no need to send their inspector out. They immediately offered me the money for a band-aid repair, but HomeTech went to bat for me, showing plenty of pics to prove to the insurance company that a whole new roof was needed. Altho it took a few months (shingle samples sent out to a lab for testing), it passed the required brittle test. The roof crew were on time and professional. And their in-sync work ethic was amazing as I got my new architectural roof installed in less than 5 hours under Isaiah's scrutiny and final inspection! Now for the interior work: Bayardo, the home interior mgr, was amazing at assessing my ceiling damage from the roof leak and some non-claim-related leaky drain damage. His demeanor was professional as well. And his crewman, Klaybin, did an amazing job at re-drywalling all damaged areas and topping it off with a clean and smooth paint job- can't even tell there was damage! To say this company was professional is not enough... When I requested an itemized invoice and bill of materials, the co-owner, Katie, refused to provide one--claiming that small jobs require higher markup and providing invoices would prevent them from making money. * Financial Mismanagement: After weeks of asking for my remaining balance, I was forced to mention reporting them to the Better Business Bureau just to get my refund check issued. Three weeks after depositing the refund, my bank notified me that the check bounced due to insufficient funds. * Unprofessional Conduct: Management actively avoids accountability, shifts blame onto their inspectors, and dodges calls. In terms of overall satisfaction, I rate them the highest for any contracting service for my home that I have used. A friend of mine has used him for his current and previous homes roofing. First, they are low pressure, helpful, and thorough. They took care of a problem on my old roof four years ago by writing a letter to my insurance company that I had no structural problems with my old roof it was just algae making my roof look like it had depressed some areas form the air in need of repair. They did not charge me for this so when it was time to re-roof my house they had built a lot of good will. In August, Robert Hamel, the owner, inspected my current roof, and attic explained my options well including improving the poor ventilation in my soffits. He also inspected my gutters for wear and proper slope. Second, they are a small local business that has been in business since at least the early 80s so you get personalized service. Bradley Company is not an out of the area company that hires a lot of temporary people when they get busy that may not be as good as their regular workers. The foreman on the job Tony has worked with Robert for years. You have much confidence that they will be around in the long-run and that their business and customer base is local. Third, best price and warranty. I got estimates from five roofers and they were the best both in terms of price and installation quality. Robert Hamel is a four star shingle master roofer and he gave me a 15 year workmanship warranty on my CertainTeed roof. No other offer that I received included a 15 year workmanship warranty. I checked with the Maryland home improvement commission and they have not had a complaint since 2005. The record of no complaints for 12 years with excellent personal attention, pricing, and workmanship shows me an exemplary record of customer satisfaction. A great company to do business with. My new roof looks very nice.
