The search for contractors was pretty frustrating. Some contractors didn't even bother to respond. Others responded immediately with extremely high price quotes. Another responded with a great quote, but then disappeared. The best experience, from the start, was with Alex and his company, AC Painting and Remodeling. Alex responded to my first message in a timely fashion, and he continued to communicate quickly from the time he started the project until it was completed. He sent me regular updates throughout the process, including photos, which was great. His pricing was extremely fair, and the quality of the work was excellent. He finished the job on time, and made sure to take care of the list of follow-up items. I got a complete kitchen renovation (new cabinets, granite countertops, sink and all new appliances). I also got all new laminate floors, and a new vanity in the bathroom. Alex also did a few small fixes throughout the apartment. Everything looks great, and I really could not be any happier with the results or with the rates he charged. I highly recommend this company, and I'll definitely hire them again for any future work. I'm attaching some before and after photos.

It was definitely a stressful situation, but Lee was very helpful and responsive to my questions and requests. Although Lee did not perform the job himself, Ivan and his team came out to repair the drywall and replace the carpet. Ivan was really great - he was courteous and efficient throughout the whole project, which took about 1.5 days to complete. Some highlights were: 1) The crew was able to start working almost immediately after I called Master's Construction. 2) Ivan worked very hard to find the closest match to my existing carpet. It sounded like he was checking out quite a few places until he found someone all the way in Richmond that had our carpet! (FYI, I live in Falls Church.) 3) Ivan ended up re-painting all the walls of my bedroom to ensure that the paint color was consistent throughout. Per my request, he also left behind the remaining bucket of paint so that I can use it again in the future. Thank you for all your help, Ivan and everyone at Master's Construction!

A con man of the highest order!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read moreHis recommendations which I naively agreed to ,proved not only to be not only outrageously overpriced, but more importantly completely superfluous and resulted in me ultimately having to hire someone else remove what he installed AND repair what damaged he caused and then begin the initial project from the start!! One example:His estimate for tightening a kitchen cabinet ran into thousands of dollars!! He came up with some convoluted explanation about the wall of the cabinet needing to be rebuilt, the dishwasher needing to be removed, the wall next to it needing to be totally rebuilt ,the adjacent door also needing to be taken off, then needing to repaint the doors .....and on and on. Another workman showed me that the screw just needed tightening and refused to even charge me for such a ridiculously small 'repair'! He guaranteed his work for a year. The tile work he did on one tub has resulted in puddling on the floor every time the shower is used. It's been 3 months since he was paid in full for ALL of his work. Two weeks ago I contacted him to fix the puddling problem. No response ! Since my call to him the puddling is only one of a number of things that that he worked on that isn't working properly! His "WARRENTEE " isn't worth much since he doesn't respond even 3 months into the first yr! Must of been his wife or mother who wrote the favorable review before mine. I give him, his work and his word zero stars!

The context of our situation was that another contractor had royally screwed up our floors and we needed to re-sand and re-finish the hardwood. There are very few ways to make an entire house unlivable and a bad contractor using cheap products on the floors is one of them. Just trust me on this, do not go cheap on the polyurethane finish material. Go with the premium water based product. AZ can help you choose the best one for you. I found AZ in the NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) list of certified professionals. I absolutely had to make sure that I was hiring a real professional and the best contractors self-select into NWFA certification because of rigorous training requirements. AZ also checked all other boxes. They had high-end dustless sanding equipment, certification from leading vendors of flooring products (Bona, Loba, etc), ongoing training, many years of experience, and a very competitive price point. The one thing that struck me about Moises, the owner of AZ was his dedication to his craft. It's hard to find contractors who strive for excellence in this day and age.
