We went to brick town and we were sadly disappointed because nothing was open and what was open wasn't serving food! We found Guyutes on yelp and we're ecstatic we did! Frankly everything could be improved. The food was terrible, the service was terrible. The waitress kept getting way too close to me and other people at the table. I got the ring of fire pizza it was terrible and soggy. I had someone get a pork belly it legit tasted like tuna on an ocean of garlic. Both dishes were sent back. Also they charge a 20% fee for bigger tables that was never mentioned when I called beforehand. Considering I called beforehand to talk to someone and let them know we were coming in and this was never mentioned nor is it on their website is insane. Also a lot of us were paying separate and they still charged each of us on our own individual tickets that 20% charge. I also want to state that we were never given a handheld menu. Fun look to the premises. Located in a great and vibrant neighborhood. Guyute's was a recon of our hotel concierge. That was fortuitous. If it hadn't been 100° out and late afternoon sun we would've eaten on the lovely rooftop, but no way today. We both had the signature Guyute plate. Delicious. You start eating it as the plate arrives; its presentation is spot on. Even your bill is brought in a paperback book. Service was fast and our server was super pleasant and helpful. This is a bit of a hidden gem... The atmosphere is very Austin, TX vibe. The theme is based on the band Phish - so the walls are covered with posters, album covers, and other memorabilia. It's very laid back, but in a tasteful way. The restrooms seem clean, despite the weird cat music. Kinda fun. They have a full bar selection and quite a few custom drinks. Also many craft and domestic beer choices. They make an awesome dirty martini. But the FOOD! That's even better. The menu is awesome with great apps, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pizza. The Pig Lips appetizer and the Ring of Fire pizza are my fav. (That pizza is really spicy and I love it!) My wife and I have visited 3 times in the last couple months. The restaurant itself is unmistakable in the heart of Midtown, covered ceiling to floor in artwork that brings it so much character, and the rooftop patio for dining really is a bonus to the experience. Guyutes always gives me the classic summer time, drinks with your friends kind of feel - not to mention it's definitely the best place you can still grab food at past midnight in OKC. They serve dinner until 1:30 AM! The service is always prompt, and I'd highly recommend the tequila sunfryz, which are essentially smothered waffle fries with egg and all. Parking is confusing and intimidating if you don't know that there is a nice big parking lot on the SE side of the building, but now you know! We got the Mac burger ( toasted bun burger with Mac & cheese ) roasted okra, and the crispy pork belly. Pork belly wasn't the absolute best we've had, but was still amazing. I use to frequent this place often and I order the same thing (Tequila Sunfryz) Last few times its tasted different. I returned my last order and got my money back because there was literally no queso on it. I purchased extra for $3 bucks, thinking they just give me a full ladle on top but I received this tiny 2oz cup of queso‍. I tried again last night around 11:20pm, idk if the staff was ready to go or they ran out of queso but the cheese on my fries was CHEESE SAUCE, not queso. I called the next day telling them I didn't eat it and I want it remade with queso( I still haven't ate it). I was told I have to talk to management about remaking it. This is really just a testament that it depends on who you have in your kitchen cooking. This simple menu item shouldn't change weekly on taste or presentation. And whoever was in the kitchen or help prep 11/30 around 11:20pm said fuck it. We ordered the Franklin tower, a layered dish with alternating chicken medallions & mashed potatoes drizzled with a tasty sauce. I'd definitely recommend it. The Alfredo pizza was in the sights of another member of our group. They raved about the flavor. A six or seven layered dip was shared all round & was delicious. The waffles fries were covered in tequila queso, pulled pork, diced jalapeño, tomatoes, onion, cilantro crema, and a sunnyside egg. We just wish there was a little more meat, but other than that it was great! The Traffic Light was handmade chips, fresh salsa, guacamole and tequila queso. Guacamole tasted very fresh, and the salsa tasted like it had a hint of mint in it, which was different. It tasted a bit like tabouli which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we enjoyed it.
