I tried the veggie burger because it was a Friday in Lent; I was surprised how good it was. I always prefer beef patties, but for the situation, I can recommend the veggie burger. Incredible fleece. The avocado burrito bowl is $25 and 70 percent iceberg lettuce service in plastic with plastic utensils. Then was charged a $2 sustainability fee on the receipt- to be served in plastic. Asked if they had tortilla chips (not on the menu) but was told they could do it for $15. When it comes to Guy's Highball Lounge / Burger Joint, this place hits all my high notes that surpasses most airport eateries. The Highball Lounge has a great selection of high-end spirits. Not many (if any) airport bars will carry: Pappy Van Winkle, Wellers, Blanton's, MacCallan 18, JW Blue Label, and others. That vast array of choices alone sets this drinking well apart from all others. There are multiple HDTVs to satisfy any sports fan who wants to watch their team prior to their flight. There are charging stations under the bar to keep your phone battery ready for travel. Food can be ordered from the Burger Joint right next door. I've ordered many burgers/sandwiches from here over the years but I've recently created a custom order that fulfills my burger needs; food hack. Burger Joint Fries (loaded) with added burger patty and 2 sunny-side up eggs. This is the perfect barfood meal with protein and fried goodness; it will leave you well filled until you arrive to your travel destination. Are the prices here a little high? How awesome to have this guy Fieri bar at the airport. It just made my day despite the never ending flight delays. The little lady was a one woman show and super quick, friendly, efficient and organized. Love the the restaurant adjoining the bar has the best wagyu. I got the burger with a strawberry mojito and enjoyed both equally. Will definitely be back. Btw, love that there are two rows of bar seats. Next time I might try the row behind the first row which has a lower table for us vertically challenged. Very clean and high energy. Fries ($5.95) were pretty good and came hot, as they should be. Burger wasn't bad ($18.95). Cooked the way it should be and the bun was fresh. My only gripe is the burger patty was awfully thin. I know it's the airport but still. A thicker patty would have been nice. The draft beer was ($12.95) was cold and served in a plastic cup. Service was good too. The chicken tenders were calling me and staring me down (lol). I recently was at this airport, and noticed that this restaurant was pretty busy. A lot of people seem to be ordering a lot of items from this place. I finally summed up the courage and decided to order. The prices were steep, but that's normal for any airport food I think. I was surprised to see it came with a lot of food. Three big tenders and a lot of fries. Depending on when you go, they might now have a spicy flavor. Flight delays for me are a green light to hit the bar. Found one by the terminal towards the end and stayed there till last call around 8:30pm (the other bar that's near the front stays open longer). Great tasting cocktail, good conversation, plenty of screens with the games on, and a cup of water that I took to go to wait for my flight = satisfied. Stopped in before a flight the bartender said there was one ahead of us. We said no problem, another couple needed seats so we offered to move so they could sit together. Another server Beth entered the bar and slowed down the bartender explaining that she likes working in the coffee area because the other worker was a bitch - delightful. She then started taking orders from people that just walked up. The bartender then served the people we gave up our seats. She told us she would serve us next but started talking to the Beth and moved to the opposite end to serve another new guest my wife then said excuse me we were here before any of these people can we order next. Beth said can't you see how busy we are! Nope if they cut the chatter between themselves complaining about other workers and paid attention they could fill a lot more orders Horrible place that only exists to abuse travelers! Lounge lizard till flight time. The server was excellent. On point. The drinks- expensive as per airport norm- $17 for 6 oz of Santa Margherita, $14 for a pint of beer (tax included). One definite downside was that the "grill side" of the bar, emitted such a powerful grease/onion smell, it made it hard to sit there for much longer. Not being able to take adult beverage out of bar area, and not wanting to leave my $14 beer (which was incredibly delicious btw) I muddled through but left the space with the stink in my clothes and hair. Is this one of the only sit down joints at Burbank Airport? Yep. Did I find the cheese wrapper/wax paper in my burger? Yep. Despite the latter, I liked the food and loved the service even more. The kind bartender who helped me was stuck working the place alone and it was packed!
