Who is this Guy? He is the Man! I read all the reviews in Austin for over a year looking for someone with real scissor skills. In the meantime getting not great haircuts. I took a chance on Guy and glad I did. There is nothing worse in life than getting a bad haircut. Guy undid the damage done and cut my long straight fine hair to a business cut that looks great. Tried Beantown today for my son's haircut. He is 15. He has thick dark hair so if the fade is not done right it is easy to see flaws. Our barber at Beantown was awesome, super cool, and knew just what to do. He even took the time to ask if we wanted the back rounded or squared. We will be back!! I found this shop on here and loved the vibe. I saw a cut I've been meaning to get and was so pleased that I got to sit down with Sisko. This man is gifted with the art and gave me the dopest fade and cut I've received while being in Texas. Originally from Miami and being a Army vet I know my fair share of cuts and Sisko is highly highly recommended.He's a very chill respectful dude and an excellent barber, and a master with the straight razor.I'll be coming back here for my next cut stay tuned. This place is awesome. I really like the owner, "Guy." First of all, he's got a great name and second of all he has a great shop in a great location and has a log of expertise. You can tell when you talk to him he really knows about hair styling and he really cares about doing a good job. We also had one of the best conversations I've had in years. Needed a cut, my regular joint had an 1.5 hour wait, so I figured I'd drive by this place which is near my home. Didn't look super busy, so I went in and no wait - score! Got a great haircut from a nice lady, and since I'm a Boston sports fan, the memorabilia was jim dandy by me, such as a Larry Legend jersey. Hopefully my next haircut will be of similar quality, I really like what she did, and I've had consistency trouble in the past at other places. He stayed an extra 45 minutes with me after close to make sure the job was done right. $28 for the longest, crappiest haircut I've had in years. I think I will continue to drive across town to pay half this price for a real haircut. I honestly could have faired a lot better just cutting my own hair had I known. Stumbled on this place by chance since it was nearby. My barber listened to the look I was going for and went above and beyond to clean me up nice. Very relaxed atmosphere and shouldn't have to deal with much of a wait, unless you don't go off appointments. read more

I thought I give this place a try since I saw it had 4 and a half stars. I ask for a medium fade with long hair on top for a comb over and Guy (barber) gave me a buzz cut and left basically a patch on top of my head as if he wanted me to look like Bert from Sesame Street. I wanted to shave my head after the haircut. I would only recommend if you just want a fade but don't expect him to know how to style the top of your hair if you want to keep it long. read more

I had made an appointment with Guy to get my haircut. The conversation on the phone after the appointment was made was if I had to cancel to please let him know 3 hours in advance. The day of my appointment I did not have access to my phone. Guy text me to confirm my appointment I did not respond because I did not have access to my phone so he blew me off and booked another client. I got to the appointment thinking I am going to get a haircut and he tells me he does not take walk ins and he is booked I then said no problem I have an apointment. He then said no you don't you did not answer my text. Needless to say I was a bit pissed off. I just know that when I make a appointment that means I should be able to get done what I made the appoint for. This is a blessing if he cuts hair like he runs his business my hair would have been a hot mees. I would not recommend going to this so called barber you prrobly won't get a haircut. read more

This place is expensive and seemingly not with good reason. Got my haircut there and it was not what I had in mind. Now I feel like a Redneck Frankenstein Richard Spencer. My friend says it looks great but the salient issue is it's not what I had in mind. Decided to give this place a try based on the quality of work from previous reviews. I called before showing up but it rang to voicemail. I took all three of my kids only one of them needed a haircut. I walked in to an empty shop, two barbers 1 female who had a client. I was greeted by a male who I believe was the owner. He asked me if all my kids needed a haircut , I told him it was only one child which was my 10 year old. He told me to wait for the lady to finish because he had another client arriving. My little one was acting up and running around (acting like a 1 1/2 year old). I patiently waited for 20 minutes during that time no one else showed up to their appointment. The man was kind enough to offer us lollipops. I think it would've been BETTER customer service to quickly fit my son in while he waited for the other client to arrive it doesn't take that long for kid's hair cut. We left to another barber shop who got him in and out. It's VERY disappointing we would've liked for him to give my child a good fade based on the reviews below. Today I get a return phone call to the missed call from yesterday, I explained my services were taken care of elsewhere. He did a really good job, very attentive to detail (recommend it) the price is a a bit higher than a usually pay in Los Angeles, it was $28 (plus tip) for a middle zero fade haircut but it was on point. read more

I will start by saying that I'm a person whose extremely picky when it comes to my hair. I was very hesitant to try a new barber once mine had moved, but so happy that I decided to give BeanTown a try. Every single haircut I've gotten here has been nothing short of phenomenal. Guy is the barber that I've been using now and he takes his craft very seriously. He takes his time to make sure you get the best haircut possible, and is very personable while doing so. Literally every time I leave the shop, I get people asking me, where did you get your haircut at??? I haven't used anybody else at the shop but have seen their work as well, and would feel very comfortable using somebody else in the event Guy was not available.
