I got a good cut and it's a good price. For a men's cut I think it was $23. The lady cutting my hair seemed kind of annoyed that day but I just worked with her and ended up getting a nice haircut. I'll come back again and try it next time I need one! You can go in and theres 2-3 spots to wait and you pretty much just walk in and wait in line until it's your turn. Casual environment. They do require masks though so be sure to bring one. They do provide them if you forget yours. read more

This is a ONE-PERSON barber shop. This excellent lady charges $25 for an awesome men's haircut. She's open Wednesdays through Sundays. She is Korean, her English is limited, but her skills are first-rate, and in the age of Google Translate, we can all get through this together, right? I had an event recently where I had a (non-life-threatening) medical emergency while in her chair, and she was very concerned and caring and helpful. While we were waiting for the ambulance, she was wiping my neck and forehead with a cool damp cloth to minimize my distress, and that meant a lot to me. She has a beautiful soul, and I'm a devoted customer. read more

Terrible customer service, asked for 2 inches off the top & she was guessing how long that was. The haircut I asked for she had to search it up. read more

The best barber shop in central Texas! Affordable, flexible hours and skilled barber! Don't let the location turn you away, this place is great! read more

I've been going here for years, and I'm always tipping 50-100% more because of the amazing price + top-of-the-line haircut. You seriously will NOT find anything this good in Austin for this price. I've tried before, and have to get my haircut fixed by JC Barbershop. Highly recommend, cannot say enough good things about the quality of cut here. read more

Quality fade for a reasonable price. Hidden gem right here! Moved from Dallas and biggest concern was finding a barber I'm glad I stumbled upon JC barbershop read more

Like the other guy said, I almost don't want to review this place so it doesn't get overcrowded, but it needs to be said that Janelle does a really great job! I started going to her when I was wearing high bald fade with a 2 on top. Then I started doing an old school flat top. She was always quick and precise doing those cuts and always asked if I wanted my hair line lined up or if I want my neckline faded out or lined. This is definitely more of a barber atmosphere with quick clipper cuts, and it's priced very fairly for the type of guy that gets a cut every 2 weeks (or 10 days for me, ha). I'm growing out a slick back now, so my cut is a little more intricate and takes longer for her to do, so it costs a bit more, but I don't mind the extra. And to be honest, I'd rather keep the person cutting my hair happy by giving them an actual living wage rather than not. I don't know if she does the straight razor, but she does use the shaver to do bald fades. Honestly I like the shaver better bc I get less irritation. I don't get the straight razor hype - they both grow out in a day and half for me. Anyway, I'm not great at describing what i want so I always save pics on insta to show her and she replicates what I want perfectly. Parking is easy, and she keeps convenient hours even if you have a day job. I live more south central but there are some great restaurants up there and of course Janelle's great haircuts that are worth the drive! read more

The worst customer service you can imagine. No appointment system. She is still requiring you wear a mask! Didn't even offer to wash my hair in order to remove the hair product so she could cut my hair. Will never recommend this place or ever go back. She will make you point to pictures to give her examples of what you are wanting. Just a horrible experience overall. Do not waste your time. read more

I got my haircut by Janelle I asked for a fade & she did a sloppy job she butchered the back of my head & left a cut on the top of my ear I don't believe she cleans her clippers & haircut equipment well neither, it was my first & last time there I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

Amazing haircut every time. Gave me the right fade that grows in great. Janelle has such a great attention to detail. I am so lucky to live close to such a talented shop. Quiet, clean, and a great cut every single time. Could not recommend more read more

Owner requires masks when no place else in the city requires them. The location is also in an extremely run down shopping center.

Had to travel to meet clients the next day, and needed a cut fast, and my usual person was out of town, so figured I'd give this place a try. I feel there was a tiny bit of a language barrier, but I was able to get what I wanted and I actually kinda liked the nuances of how she did the cut a little more than my usual stylist (she had very close attention to detail on the fade). I gave it the full stars because, at this cost for the style I need, you can't really beat it. I expect that I will be back. read more

I almost don't want to rate this place because I don't want another great barbershop to get overcrowded but gotta give this place the 5 star treatment. They took me at 7:30 PM on a Sunday and gave an excellent fade. Well worth the price. Will be coming back for sure read more

I moved to Austin around a year ago and I've always come here for a haircut since then. I've been getting a skin fade on the sides every time and it comes out perfect every time. Well worth the 25+ minute drive to get a quality cut at a good price here. read more

Best barber in town. Best for getting haircuts during covid-19 pandemic. She operates the barbershop by herself so less interactions with other people. I have been coming here over an year and I had not a single bad haircut. read more

If you have long hair, at this location is not the place for you. I didn't even get to ask about a beard trim before I was promptly told that there isn't the place for me. I walked in and the place seemed empty, only to have a single person walk out. read more

Originally I came to this place on a whim and the cut I received was alright for the price and time spent on it. When I decided to try it a second time though I was sorely disappointed. All I wanted was a medium skin fade, that was it. I had a beard and side burns growing, and I wanted the side burns, just past the top of the ear, cut in line with the rest of the cut, ya know, uniformity, simple. I wasn't asking for my beard to be trimmed, just the top of the sideburns to be done along with the rest, which is usually just common sense, she even did it fine last time. This time she failed to even touch them, and then when I did bring it up, she did a half assed job, barely cutting them, and leaving them uneven and looking longer than the rest of my hair which was basically skin. I had to fix them myself. Such a simple thing getting screwed up the way it was, not worth the price, or the headache. Be careful if you end up going here. read more

So I decided to cut my hair because I loved the way they blended hair from the pictures . I gave it a shot, and it turned out that I liked it. First of all, this is the first place that I have ever seen hair clippers with a vacuum attached to it. Yes you read it right, a vacuum attached to hair clippers. Another thing I found strange is, you're not facing a mirror, you are facing the customers. When she is finished then you'll face the mirror. ‍ Now the only thing that I was not to happy about, was that she use shaper clippers to do my beard, instead of using a single blade razor. Let's just say I left with red marks from the blades. However I will go again just wouldn't go for the beard shape up. read more

All I can say is WOW. While visiting Austin, I got my haircut here and she gave me a smooth fade, which complimented my man bun. If you're looking to get a really nice fade, taper, and crisp lines this is the place to go! Jenelle is very hospitable and is willing to cut your hair the specific way you desire! The vacuum on the clippers left my clothes and body with no hair residue, which leaves me with no errand to go shower to wash it off. Jenelle cuts hair at a very fair price and I wished I lived in Austin just so she can be my go to barber every week. read more
