Update: Went back and my haircut was even better than the 1st. Great barbers here that do a thorough job and want you to look your best. I still love the vibe and all is well with the world. I had a few haircuts out of town visiting parents in another state, so I enjoyed coming back to what will be my permanent place. 5 stars earned again. I managed to squeeze in here without an appointment--very lucky. I absoloutely loved the vibe in this place and I'll add pics next visit as I've now found my permanent haircut place. I got my haircut here about a month ago. Making an appointment online was simple and easy. I went in and they got me in timely which is highly appreciated. I got a very basic haircut but I would rank it pretty high considering I didn't specify much and let the barber do his thing and he did a good job styling. With that said, I was aggravated that he took 3 personal calls as he's cutting my hair. It really shows a lack of professionalism on his part and not what I would expect when paying $30 for a haircut. He also was not wearing a mask and said I didn't have to wear mine despite the sign in the front saying otherwise. But my reason for the 1 star and why I wouldn't be back is because the next day I woke up to these weird itchy pus-filled pimple like rash all through my neck. Not sure if this barber's itch or barber's rash but either way it's caused by improperly sanitized combs, scissors, or razors. It took a few days for it go away and left marks which is still visible today. So for that reason, I can't recommend this place. read more

If there is no appointment scheduled, they should be able to fit you in unless they are super busy. The customer service is always exceptional. Place is always clean and very comfortable. My partner goes to Victor and gets the best haircut and brow threading in the city. The service here is awesome but you HAVE to have an appointment they do not accept walk-ins due to the master artistry that Victor performs on each and every client. He threads our daughter's eyebrows and also cuts our teenage son's hair. Our son doesn't want anyone else to cut his hair! Never disappointed. So got here on time but my barber was 15 mins late. Ok whatever not the end of the world and the owner was apologetic. So bro-sauce shows up finally and starts loudly blaming another barber there how it was the other barbers fault because the other barber recommended a car inspection station for the barber I was assigned too and that's station didn't pass his car because of his illegal window tinting and I'm like... ok are we gonna do the haircut now? So I sit down and show him pics of what I want and he goes starts cutting and goes on and on about this inspection station blah blah blah, and then tell me he called my phone earlier to reschedule my appointment for an earlier slot but I never responded. I said ok, sorry I was working all day and wasn't looking at my phone. ( so it's also my fault that he was late I guess) So he cut my hair to what I wanted, didn't shampoo or clean anything. In fact his whole station was freaking nasty. And he says ok if you like the cut then you're done. (I ordered a haircut and a shave so I was expecting him to do that) anyways I didn't want to argue cuz this guy obviously doesn't have his crap together in general and I just wanted to go home and shower. Oh they only take cash, so if you don't bring cash you have to use their ATM, not a huge deal but the owner was sure to tell me he had that on the website and front door and email etc. I was like, I'm not disputing that or arguing with you, I didn't say anything, here's your money... they didn't charge me for the extra services the barber didn't do. And I left. Don't go here. It's not managed well, it's 2022 and they don't take cards, and then get annoyed when you don't bring cash. (Like dude, no one uses cash man. Clean your freaking barber shop. Stop blaming the customers for all your issues. Hire adults instead of 27 year old man babies who don't know how do basic life tasks) So I get home and wash off all the hair slivers and notice the man-baby sliced my cheek bone because he was going to fast. I was looking for a new barber after getting two screwed up haircuts in a row from my previous one. I am relatively new to the area so I just did an area search and decided to check out Kingdom Barbershop. What a lucky pick that was. The shop is very clean and well laid out. I thought they must be brand new but Victor told me they had been there for two years. Two years of operation and the store looks that good, that tells you something about a place. Victor is very skilled and gave me the best haircut I've had in awhile. Even my wife said, "wow! that's the best haircut I've seen on you in awhile, where did you go?" Ok, hair cut, but a too much of an inconvenience. Must bring cash (no option for Credit Card), you must have an appointment, and they couldn't do a simple shave with my haircut. I wanted pay extra for that, but I understand with the schedule. I felt it could have been a quick shave. Then when I gave him the cash, he tried to keep my change. Let the customer decide to give you the tip. He did give some great recommendations on my hair. I really like that. When I tried to schedule for another appointment at the shop, he couldn't schedule me. So now I have to go on the site and find a time, which could be taken if I go on the site. Very bed customer service! Initially booked an appointment for today which is Monday tried to cancel through the website but there is no option so I booked new appointment for Wednesday thinking they will change it in their system . After10 minutes victor called me with very poor attitude and complain about his business lost money I have told him that I'm sort but can't make it for today because of a family emergency and I asked to keep Wednesday appointment. After literally 5 minutes they canceled my Wednesday appointment when called to find out why he told me in another words and raises comments that he doesn't want my business that's not the way to treat customers as business owner I know it sometimes customers cancel. Last minute stop after work for this reputable barbershop. Whole shop was empty with just 2 customers. I asked Bassam or Victor if he takes in walk-ins, said NO and turned me away because I didn't have appointment. He asked me how I found out about his shop, I said Yelp. The owner/barber cut my hair not only as I asked but with all the extras. It's been over 40 years since I had a barber take this much attention -- multiple clippers, scissor and straight-razor fine finish, talcum dusting, etc. The shop has all-new furnishings, clean, well-lighted, quiet -- no blaring TV or radio. Just what I've been looking for -- not a sports bar wannabe like some of the local shops, just a barber who is a craftsman. And easy access from I-35.
