I've become a regular at Finley's Barber Shop for over a year now. I'm pretty happy overall with everything they do, and Molly at the 3rd Street location has become my go-to barber. She's just great.
Story goes - over a year ago I was at another barber shop for a while, but due to the pandemic their scheduling and availability became an issue. I could never find a time for my barber and I desperately needed a haircut, so I found Finley's on Yelp, read the reviews, checked out their pricing - which was competitive, and started my journey with them. I was very attracted to their Premium Package - for what it offered and the price - that's what drew me in.
I think I've been through the gambit here with about 2 different Finley Barbers. I try to find the best person but that's not always easy, so I just take the first available at a location and the first experience was good. The cut was solid, although not the best. I noticed this after a few weeks had passed and my hair started to grow awkwardly - which is a sign that the cut wasn't as perfect or symmetrical as it could have been.
So the great thing about Finley's is they have multiple locations and multiple barbers to choose from, and I stayed with them because of the competitive pricing option - that Premier Package for $40 which includes shampoo, cut, razor the neckline, and a quick shoulder massage at the end w/ their massage gun. So I chose a different location, and the scheduler recommends someone else. She turned out pretty good, I saw her twice, her cuts were not perfect but they were much better. The last experience was mediocre, so I searched for someone new - and Molly's name was brought up on 3rd St.
Molly was really patient, I showed her pictures of hair cuts, she said she had a good idea, and she did a really damn good job! She is easy to talk to, her skills were on target. My hair grows out now symmetrical and perfectly, and where I used to have to get a haircut every 4 wks, I can now go about 8-10 weeks and the hair holds up nicely. Molly is frickin' awesome! She says she remembers the cuts for her regulars and just maintains / improves upon them.
Plus I love how they let regular customers come in btwn haircuts to trim the neckline - free of charge! You can just show up, and they'll slot you in, at the 30min or 60min mark. It just takes about 5-10 min, they use the warm shaving cream, trim the neck, trim around the ears too, and it's free! I mean who doesn't love FREEEEEE!! You don't get anything free nowadays. I usually go in around 4-5 wks after my cut, and then I find I will be back in 2 weeks to get a new haircut.
Anyway - it's the Premium Package that keeps me here, and it's Molly's awesome barber talents too. Scheduling is easy, I use the online tool, it's always accurate. I highly recommend Molly @ 3rd and Finley's in general - great job! read more
