I have called them eight times, sent an email, chatted with an AI assistance which keeps telling me someone will call, and no one has contacted me. These gutters are not working properly and water is pouring off one area where the gutters are. And drips onto the ground many places. I would not recommend this company at all!!!! ZERO STARS! We had our Gutter Helmet installed 2.1.2019. From day 1 they haven't been working properly. We have had about a dozen "experts" come out to assess why they constantly drip during any amount of rain or mist. At one point a worker said "to be honest in the PNW these covers aren't going to do anything because it doesn't prevent the pine needles from getting in the gutters and clogging them and there's a constant build up on the outside of the cover that comes from all the trees and our washing/scrubbing doesn't last"... so essentially it means the gutter covers are worthless and in the top three worst investments our family has ever made. We went through Costco believing this was a reputable company but in the years since Costco appears to have dropped this company from its services so that says a lot. The company began charging $50 to come out every time to clean them off so they don't leak...even though it doesn't really do anything. Originally the company promised FREE gutter cleanings four times per year but we had to have them out more than that because of the dripping issues onto the boards and not wanting permanent damage to the wood. We refuse to pay for the company to come out and "clean" the gutters when it doesn't do anything and their slogan literally is "The Permanent Solution to Clogged Gutters". There's literally nothing permanent to their product other than water leaking and damage. We are so done with this company and will be contacting Costco now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

They call you back literally 8-9 months later after numerous phone calls, then don't show up for appointments to honor the warranty to clear gutters that are full of debris ( part of guarantee)! Just my experience in Olympia, WA. Further, part of their original installation on a slightly sloping roof has damaged the corners of that roof. The Gutter Helmet must be removed and several rows of shingles replaced due to improper Gutter Helmet installation. Their corporate office is taking no responsibility either. I really wish I could give 0 stars. I had the gutter guards installed about 7 years ago and I have lost count how many times I have called/emailed to complain about the dripping off of them and onto my wood boards. After I would call/email they would send someone out to do the quarterly cleaning. Don't even get me started on now they want to charge me $50 to come out and do something they said would be covered in the original contract. This has been one of the worst investments I have ever done!!! These things are complete garbage and as much as they say "you will never have to clean your gutters again", that is because all of the water just rolls off of the guard and goes to the wood boards and ground, not in your gutter. Purchased gutters from Harry Helmet years ago. Since that time, the company has been bought out. Called to get my gutters cleaned under warrantee. I was told that the new company will not honor the yearly cleaning under warrantee and would charge a fee of $150, paid up front now. To add, the lady insisted that before she could set up an appointment, she needed pictures of my gutters! For what??? To add, she was not helpful but cold about the process. We've had Gutterhelmet on our home for almost 20 years now and canvas unequivocally IT DOES NOT WORK! When the salesman, Tom, came out he assured us that the GH was perfect for our installation. WRONG! We live in an area with many many fir trees plus the roof pitch is rather shallow. When it rains here in the NW the pine needles form little chains that allow rainwater 'miss' the channel &/or float into the gutters. Originally the company & we came up with a plan that the company would send out a worker twice a year to blow off the roof & clean out the gutters. Well, the compant changed hands and the last time i called they said there was a $50 Dispatch fee but waved it because of our record and my grousing! We get in ad in the mail from Gutter Helmet stating, among other things, "never clean your gutters again". The gutters aren't full (blocked) and the runoff is carving a Ditch in our asphalt. The salesperson for Gutterhelmet told us that the crew sent out to install the product would cleanup. They threw the slop [leaves and twigs] from the gutter cleaning not in a bag but on the ground. They left a mess. We complained to the salesperson. He said he would correct the problem. The fix was to have the contractor call me the customer. Apparently the salesperson likes to pass the buck and have me, the customer, deal with their contracted employees. I didn't want to get in an argument about their poor cleanup practice. As far as I was concerned, that's not my job. I'm the customer, not their hiring agent. Very disappointed. read more

From day 1 we have not been pleased with this company. The poor installation of these gutters with nails poking through the overhang rotted our fascia board causing us to spend thousands to replace a large portion of our roof. We were told we had four free gutter cleanings a year. I usually only had them out twice a year but they insisted on every three months which was fine with us. Then, like many of your other reviewers, we were informed that they were going to start charging $50 per cleaning. I argued with them but to no avail. It's been a year and my gutters are totally clogged with debris, so I contacted them to come out and clean them for the $50 I was quoted. I sent them an email because no one was answering the phone. Two weeks later I got a call from someone somewhere requesting a photos of our gutter system. Reluctantly I sent them. She called back the next day and told me they would come out and clean our gutters...for a fee of $200!!! I will be contacting the head office yet again. So far this company totally sucks. read more

purchased a new gutter system and gutter helmet in August 2018. As part of the price they offered a 10% rebate by a Cash Card at Costco. The total cost of installation was $8700. they were suppose to send me a 821.00 cash card. I am still waiting and Gutter helmet local service said the it is a problem with Costco. Part of your contract with Gutter Helmet is free gutter cleanings. They have reneged on their contracts by now charging $50 to come to your home. I tried to schedule a gutter cleaning with Gutter Helmet by Harry Helmet, there is a recording saying agents are busy and they take your phone number and say they will call you back. Three days in a row I called left message for call-back but no call received. Called again today (8/7/24) and finally got a live person to answer. Her name was Lisa. She was extremely rude and because I was upset about not receiving a call-back, she had a surly attitude the entire call. She put me on the list for a call back date for gutter cleaning but only after giving her my credit card information in order to bill the $50 that was never a part of the original contract. If you plan on getting Gutter Helmet, think twice. Debris collects on the edge of your gutter and even though it does not go in the actual gutter, it sticks on the edge and then the water drips continuously when it rains. We have had rotted wood on our porch and window sills from the water dripping directly on the wood. In addition, when you do need your gutters cleaned (and you will), it's impossible to reach someone and don't expect a call back anytime soon. If I hadn't made the four calls I made and eventually got a live person, albeit rude, I would probably still be waiting for a call-back. read more

I had Gutter Helmet installed last year and have issues with the installation and the performance of the system. They used non-standard roofing screws to secure their system to my roof and installed them incorrectly under the shingles, as pointed out by my roofer, and Mark Rodgers, District Manager of Gutter Helmet refuses to do anything about it. Costco is trying to help us get a refund but seems to just defer the decision entirely up to Gutter Helmet which is equally as disappointing coming from Costco. As others have mentioned, when we have a winter storm or two, enough pine needles accumulate on the front of the Gutter Helmet that the rain water just goes right past the gutter entirely and onto the ground making it completely useless. This is after a cleaning by Gutter Helmet 2 months prior. Gutter Helmet's response to that is that they need to be cleaned much more frequently, I guess that would be once a month in winter? I don't see the point of this system. I do not recommend Gutter Helmet. Our roof is now damaged from the installation of Gutter Helmet and so far we have paid $550 to repair it with another $2000 in more repairs yet to pay for. Horrendous quality/service! First installation appointment: When they started the work they put up 5 inch gutters knowing they were the incorrect size but continued installation. My husband checked on progress and 3/4 way through stopped them as it was glaringly obvious that the gutters were way too small. Reluctantly they agreed to contact the estimator to have the correct size gutters ordered. Then rescheduled to come back out. In the interim 1/4 of our house had no gutters and there were no downspouts (all were removed). it rained for several days during this time. 1 week later: Prior to the team beginning to remove all gutters (again wrong size) we went over several errors we noticed with the previous installation: We had time to inspect the quality of the first installation work and pointed out incorrectly installed gutters as we wanted to make sure they didn't repeat these mistakes. Upon an initial inspection of the completed job we noticed they made the same mistake in a different location - which they had to correct They didn't have enough downspouts to finish job. They said they would come back first thing in the morning the next day to complete job - never came back On the driveway - found 9 screws (in 6ft radius). obviously someone dropped a handful of screws and didn't pick them up. 1 screw under the tire of our car. 3 screws in culdesac Lots of trash & cigarettes left on roof, in gutters and yard. Missing downspouts Unsealed downspouts Enormous gaps between joints with just silicone applied on unclean surface. This will likely fail over 3-4 years leaving huge gaps between gutters for water to flow through. Excess silicone globs spilled in middle of gutters Diverters are installed in such a way that they will capture leaves and debris to gather / sit on roof and be a nightmare to clean in 3 months. None of the spouts were secured to gutters which means they'll likely break off during a windstorm. We have zero confidence with the way the corners are secured. They will not last beyond a few years at the most. Lack of confidence in overall quality of workmanship and service. The worst $5600 ever spent and now concerned about potentially roof damage. Still no completed gutters or missing downspouts as it pours rain outside. read more

Two months ago, I contacted Gutter Helmet by Harry Helmet to clean my gutters. With their product my gutters were packed with debris. After several phone calls and a missed appointment, Jared, their quality control Inspector showed up and examined the gutters and left me with the promise of placing me on the company's schedule to clean and fix the gutter system. That was the last I heard from them or Jared. I've called the office multiple times asking to be placed on the schedule and or to contact Jared for me. I've also contacted Jared directly via voice mail and email with no response. Now apparently they don't even answer their phones. I'm not sure if they even do business any longer much less stand by their guarantee of, "never having to clean your gutters again." Apparently they don't. Never sign up for home services at a fair!! Made the mistake of getting sucked into a contract with this company. I was having health issues at the time so my husband met with a person who showed up at our house. He quote us 1200.00 for gutters for our home. Because we were dealing with "gutter helmet" we both assumed that it was actually have a "helmet" over the gutters to deflect debris. This did not happen. We got regular gutters - that we could have purchased anywhere, they are not even flush with the mounting material in several locations and need attention. Their quality person came out on a couple of occasions and some areas were repaired, but it still looks awful. They also gave us 300.00 in gift cards as compensation (the office manager is very nice), however, the fact remains that we still paid 800.00 for gutters and don't have the kind we wanted. Don't patronize this company unless you want to get ripped off! I do not have a large home, it took them all of about 3 hours to do my home from start to finish. The price does not support what was installed on my home or the time involved. Finally gave up trying to deal with them. It just wasn't worth it. I now have to go out and buy gutter guards for my "gutter helmet" gutters, because they were never installed! Great job gutter helmet! My gutters are leaking messes! read more

This company ROCKS! We used the Harry Helmet in the Seattle area. We've had the original Gutter Helmet for 10+ years. A couple years ago Harry Helmet contacts us by letter stating they took over the Seattle area Gutter Helmet. They wanted to do a free inspection to see how our system was doing and introduce themselves in case we ever needed repair, new work, etc. I thought it was just a sales ploy, but it had been a while since our system had been looked at, so we had them come out. They totally were there for proactive service!! They tweaked a few things that had shifted, and said it all looked good - no pressure for any other sales or anything - true to their word! We were very impressed. Then this summer when we had a new large cabana built in the backyard, we needed gutters - and of course we called Harry Helmet! From the estimate (very reasonable), to the installers (great guys - explained why they were putting downspout where it was so drained the best), to the final invoice. All easy, professional, friendly, no pressure, honest and just a pleasure to work with. On time on estimate day and on installation day. Could not have been happier. They even fixed, for free, a part of the older gutter that had pulled away from the roof line and was slashing our screen, now with the recent rains, it is all perfect again! You won't regret calling them - - and they are licensed, bonded and insured - - very important!!! We will ONLY recommend Harry Helmet and may even have one more part of our roof guttered next year - and they will be the only people we will call!!! During our first windstorm in November 2017 our neighbor's canopy was lifted from his back yard, over the fence and hit the top of our roof. The metal legs on the canopy dented 2 sections of our Gutter Helmet. We called Gutter Helmet to report the damage. A technician, JT, was sent out by Gutter Helmet to assess our damage. He was friendly, courteous and attentive. After going over the damage with me, he wanted to know if we had any other problems with the gutter guards that he could correct - and I was pleased to tell him "No" as everything else was OK. That morning the roofs of all of the houses on my block were covered with frost. This did not deter JT from doing his job. He removed his ladder from the truck and went directly to work. After replacing the damaged sections, he cleaned (washed down) the dirty gutter guards in that part of the roof to blend them in with the new ones he had just installed. JT did a very good job. They now have an office manager who is very responsive and on top of things. This has definitely improved communications. The manager was not happy with how I was treated and offered to install the section of new gutter and downspout for free. They came out quickly and did the replacement well and in under an hour. After walking past the dozen or so outside service vendors at Costco for 30 years, I finally succumbed and purchased about $15000 worth of services from Gutter Helmet. The contract had Costco's name on it, the brochure had Costco's name on it, and the vendor was physically occupying square footage in Costco.. I also received a $1000 rebate from Costco. Yet, when I had a problem with leakage after the installation and contacted both the national and local franchise of Gutter Helmet, I only got a runaround from them. So I decided to contact Costco for help. Imagine my irritation when 3 phone calls all ended with the same response. "We don't show them as a vendor". "Sorry we can't help you." I could not get anyone I spoke to to admit that Costco has any responsibility for those vendors. I paid in advance for work to be done on our gutters. Gutter Helmet never did the work and even though they acknowledge the work was never done, they still have not refunded my money! The installation manager claims that he spoke with gheir accounts payable people and that a refund check was sent but after 2 weeks I still don't have it. What a great install crew and product. JT came by to rehang my gutter that partially hung off the house after a heavy rain and windstorm. A few days later, Brandon and Vince arrived early and worked quickly and carefully to clean my gutters and then install the Gutter Helmet on both my house and garage.
