First time using this business where we got a deluxe Pizza, cheese pizza, bread sticks, and Chicken wings to go. Little bit of hit and miss here where the bread sticks were quite good, chicken wings were OK but the barbecue sauce was a tad on the thin runny side and did not tack up to the meat well and the pizza was very pedestrian and more in line with one of the run of the mill chain pizza businesses that are in the area. Overall, if good/excellent pizza is the main item that you are looking for then there are definately better options in the Brighton where there are several top notch wood fired pizzeria's to choose from. read more

Although we are a regular customer, We never ordered a gluten free pizza and it's my fault for not asking what size it is since the size was not specified.... For anyone ordering it in the future, ours was 10".... Disappointed that it was burned on the edges... I understand gluten free will be more....$18.00 with 2 toppings. read more

TL;DR: Come here for breadsticks and salad. Today. Right now. You will not regret it!! I live far from Michigan, but my partner grew up in the area. When I make breadsticks at home, she always talked about Gus's and how good the breadsticks are - and especially how good the garlic cream cheese dipping sauce is. She has even tried to make it herself a few times, although she says she never got it quite right. This summer we came to visit and I had to try it. This place is a small and unassuming strip mall location that I would likely not notice if I drove past. Some of the food is ready without pre-ordering (like breadsticks and salads) and other foods you need to call ahead. The people inside were very friendly. The breadsticks were amazing, and the cream cheese dip lived up to and exceeded my girlfriend's hype! As a bonus, the leftover breadsticks heated up really well the next day too. I also ordered a greek salad, because why not? Who doesn't like greek salad? It was fresh and delicious as well. I also grabbed a bottle of ranch dressing in a nondescript plastic container.... And was pleasantly surprised by some of the best homemade ranch I have ever had! I think I could have drank the stuff. I over ordered and got two meals out of my trip to Gus's. The best review possible of a restaurant is that I also went back just a few days later because it was just that stinking good. I also got two glorious meals out of that trip too - but this time the over-ordering was intentional! I am writing this review over a month later because I keep thinking about Gus's, and especially that ranch. Let me start by saying we found this lunch spot by accident but I'm glad we did , the pizza is DELICIOUS here and the bread sticks are awesome as well , had no idea the owner of this place was the Hunter house owner as well . Dryest chicken ever! I got the plain b roasted chicken. Looked great. Skin was nicely seasoned. I was wrong. The seasoning was basically pepper and the chicken is so dry that I can't swallow it. Came with bread and two sides. Some of the bread was soft and delicious and some of it was cold and dry like the chicken. The first that I got was a potatoes and they are a little spicy and mushy. Definitely not broasted. I also got a side of mostaccioli and I haven't tried it yet. I'm almost afraid to. The staff there seem to be having a good time as they were all laughing, but I only interacted with the one who was at the register. He was fine. Not friendly, but not rude. It looks pretty clean. That's a good thing, but I also didn't go in the back, so who knows. I am so disappointed. I want to here one other time and had the pizza which was good, but the rest of my order wasn't great. I would give negative stars if I could. I ordered the lasagna, with salad and breadsticks. My lettuce was brown, not just brown but rotten. Definitely a few days old as the beets had bled all over the other items. I am in the service industry and I know that beets do NOT bleed that quickly. The bread was hard and not fresh, the lasagna was cold. I will not be ordering from here again. When I called them they were rude and dismissive. No stars and DO NOT recommend the Brighton location. Price: 4 It's a little pricey but the portions are good size. Breadstick and pizza will run you about 27 bucks but you will not finish it all in one sitting. Overall Experience: 5. I use to love this place but hadn't been there in awhile. Stopped in a few days ago for ala carte mostaccioli with marina sauce and a full bag of their addicting bread sticks so I could freeze them. Something has changed. The Marinara sauce had a very weird undertaste almost like a bad tomato and the bread sticks were stale with no garlic taste at all and almost no butter/oil. This place used to be great. A bag of breadsticks, dip and a salad, under $15. Now it's $25, will less breadsticks. We normally go around 7:30-8, they claim to be open till 9. Any time after 8 their open sign is off, the cooler is empty, lights are off and they're mopping the floors. The last 3 times we've got take out, the breadsticks are cold and hard, and the salad has been spoiled. Was gonna give it another shot tonight but wouldn't you know it.. lights off, open sign off and they're mopping. 8:15, either close at 9 and look inviting or change your hours. We ordered 2 pepperoni, onion, and green pepper Stromboli on April 9th, 2021. Neither had any pepperoni in them and had so many onions they were unedible. I called the same day and was told we would have a credit for 2 free Stromboli on our account. Fast forward to today, July 5th, 2021. I called and was told no such credit existed on our account. We got the open house special for my sons Graduation party and it was sooooo good!! Everyone raves about how good the food was, especially the fried chicken. Many people said it's the best fried chicken they've had in Brighton! And of course you can never go wrong with the Greek salad and breadsticks.
