I was SO excited to hear they opened a Green Lantern location in Brighton! I used to get this pizza when I worked in Royal Oak. They use such fresh ingredients, you can literally see and taste the difference! I also love the option to customize your pizza however you want. My favorite is their cauliflower crust! The staff there are all so friendly and polite.

OMG, I was beyond excited to see a Green Lantern open in Brighton. I wish it was a sit down! I grew up down the street from the original location in Madison Heights! This place was packed. It took about 45 minutes for cheese bread and sub, but it was so worth the wait. Staff was friendly and they were hustling to get people through. The food did not disappoint!! The location is tucked in the corner of a strip mall. They set up a couple of tables outside which is a nice touch. Very clean and bright! read more

I have had Green Lantern in the past while teaching cpr in Royal Oak so I wanted to give the Brighton location a try. I ordered light sauce on both my pizzas and they basically came with nothing on them but the cheese and toppings. When I contacted the store the young lady that answered offered me a solution to order a cup of sauce on the side which probably would've costed me extra when really it just belongs on the pizza. I would have rather had my husband pick up Costco pizza instead because they can even make a half and half pizza and still get it correct. The person on the phone didn't even offer to hand the call over to the manager, unless she was the manager. But who knows, she tried to resolve the issue but wasn't a great solution. read more

I got the thin crust pizza and it was not cooked all the way. It would fall apart wherever you'd pick up the slice. I don't mind paying extra for somewhere local, but I'd just gotten gas at Costco. I'm regretting not going in to grab a pizza from them. A third of Green Lantern's price and actually edible. read more

This review is just based on the experience of trying to order here right now and not based on the food. This location is a mess to say the least right now! Placed our order and it gave us a pick up time of 50 minutes. No problem with this as they just opened. Arrived 50 minutes later and waited in line just to find out our pizza wasn't even in the oven yet! Don't tell me 50 minutes if it's going to be 90 minutes! They were working hard but need to do a much better job on their communication. I would avoid till they get their operation running more efficiently. I hope that in the future I can give them a much better review but for now I think 2 stars is very generous! read more

The thin crust pizza is very greasy. If you like really greasy than this is the place to buy. Cheese Bread doesn't have much flavor. Regular round has a large crust with little flavor. History

Established in 1955.

Our history begins in 1946, when Green Lantern Pizza was the Green Lantern Tavern, a solo location in Madison Heights, Michigan. The original owners, Thomas and Irene Vettraino, started the business in an old farmhouse, the front illuminated by a distinctive green lantern. The green lantern was a holdover from the Prohibition Era, where a green lantern meant you could purchase alcohol in an establishment, something most of us can get behind. In such a small area like our hometown, Green Lantern Tavern was an instant hit, with our Original Round pies quickly becoming the most popular menu item. It became a tradition to come to Green Lantern for a drink and pizza, and by 1955, the tavern was ready to evolve into Green Lantern Pizza. Since the beginning, our specialty has been craft pizza. While the Original Round is what we’re famous for, our Detroit-style pizza can’t be beat, either. Every slice is made with fresh dough and sauce, hand-shredded cheese and thick-cut toppings.

My journey with Green Lantern Pizza began when I was 15 years old, working as a busboy at the original location. Twenty-five years later, opening a Green Lantern Pizza in Brighton is truly a dream come true. It’s an honor to bring the pizza I grew up with—and my Italian roots—to the residents of Livingston County.
