Ordered take out in-person, the place was clean and well kept from the customer's side of the pizza joint with semi-friendly service. Tried out a couple of large pizzas and garlic bread. We were excited to try it bc it's nestled in the downtown area of Northville and figured they'd have great pizza for being in this prime spot. Found pizza to lack flavor, crust was like the thickness of a cardboard box your Amazon pkgs come in, except crunchier than cardboard. Marinara sauce tasted nice with garlic bread, but not enough sauce on pizza. Cheese was suboptimal. We were rather disappointed. I mean, if you're in a bind for something and not dressed appropriately to walk into a more dressy place nearby, you could pick up a pizza here, but the price is steep and the taste is subpar. Truly not impressed. Sad - because a spot like this has the potential to do some really good business if they changed up their recipe and got some people who were a little more welcoming and friendly to their customers. Finally got visit my partners favorite pizza spot growing up. Walked in right at 3 (when they open on Sundays) and were able to order right away. Had to wait 25-30 minutes for our large order since the ovens were still warming up which was fine and expected. Lotssssss of takeout orders being picked up during our time there. Restaurant itself is clean and light. Bathroom is the same, needed more hand soap which is an easy fix after letting workers know. Outdoor seating available as well as a few (4 I think) small tables inside. Got a Greek salad, garlic sticks and two pizzas (Hawaiian and something along the line of a meat lovers) square cut style. Everything was delicious and fresh. Wish that the pizzas were cooked a liiiiitle more thoroughly but they were still excellent. Totally understand why they were so busy at 3 on a Sunday. Some things to note: there is not too much parking available or room inside to wait for your pizza for carry out. When I was a kid, in the 80s and 90s, this was our regular pizza spot. I recently came back to Northville to visit and tried Pizza Cutters again. But I don't know if the pizza's gotten worse, or my tastes have changed. The dough and the sauce are way too sweet. The dough itself is heavy and spongy and greasy. It tasted under-cooked in the center, though I know that can be a challenge with the heavier, 'detroit-style' dough. The whole pizza tasted so excessively salty and sweet that I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. When we arrived to pick up the pizzas in the new location, service was very much like I remembered - lots of high school kids chatting with each other while giving cursory service to their customers. If you want good service, don't go to pizza cutters, but for me, it felt a little nostalgic. read more

I've lived in Northville for years and passed by this place countless times. However, it has only been recently that I've developed a taste for pizza (okay, a craving for pizza might be a more accurate description). So when I saw Pizza Cutter ahead, I quickly modified my dinner plans and pulled into its parking lot instead. Inside, the staffer was extremely friendly and patient while I de-fogged my glasses to view the menu and place my order: medium pizza topped with pepperoni, sausage, pineapples, and tomatoes and cheesy bread. Such a good choice. The pizza was still piping hot by the time I got home; the crust was chewy and completely covered with toppings. I am generally picky about crusts (pizza, pie) but I have to say that this one was worth the carbs (the highest compliment I could give). So it seems that my pizza preferences are all over the map. I love Buddy's Detroit-styled pizzas. As a matter of fact, Buddy's was often where I would celebrate birthdays. I also love the creative, thinner-crust offerings from Bigalora. And now, I have a new data point; I love the pizzas here, where the crusts sit between those of Buddy's and Bigalora. read more

Well first of all they moved and did not mention it when placing a carryout or being on hold and I didn't not see a sign on the door. I have had fine experiences here until this week. They did not answer the phone and I do not believe they have online ordering so I went over there. I specifically asked whether the BBQ chicken pizza had pizza sauce on it in addition to BBQ sauce and they said no. Since I did not want pizza sauce I left it alone. Then, we realized after picking up the pizza that it in fact had both pizza sauce and bbq sauce. So we took it back explained the situation and asked them to remake it without pizza sauce. The girl that was originally asked denied the response and someone else showed a confusing menu description. They ended up remaking the pizza, but it was not a pleasant experience. The pizza is fantastic, made to your liking with the freshest of ingredients, always ready in a timely manner and a great attitude and work ethic by the staff. Customer service and attention to detail is pathetic. There were 2 orders for someone with the same name. They charged me for the wrong order which was $20/more than my order and gave me the wrong food. When I arrived home, I discovered my order was inaccurate and called an associate at the restaurant. I spoke with was incredibly rude and unprofessional and effectively blamed me for collecting the wrong order. The location is 15 minute from my spot and I wasn't going to drive back to pick up my cold order so I requested he simply refund my money - despite the fact that they provided someone else's food they also refused to refund my money (I have already altered my CC so I will undoubtedly have my money refunded). In these times, customer service and retention is critical. Great pizza spots are a dime a dozen (I say that as a credit to metro detroit spots) so attention to detail, consistency and service are key differentiations. I would hate to say not to venture a visit to the spot - but management/ownership needs to address training of associates in such situations or implement processes to ensure such situations do not happen in the future. read more

I grew up in Northville eating Pizza Cutter; it was obviously the best pizza around. I live in DC at the moment, but when I come home, I'm always excited to have Pizza Cutter, because I haven't found anything as good where I live now. I heard it was recently under new management and saw some reviews questioning the quality. So I tried it myself. Verdict? It's still the same quality pizza it always has been. The cheese is the best, and I love the specialty pizzas. (Try the garlic and chive!) Plus, the gentleman who answered the phone and the kids working there were really friendly. Not sure why the great reviews. In 2019 not having an online order page is rather disappointing. They are really nice over the phone, got to give them that, but still... Almost 2020... This "old school" touch made the impression in me that they will have absolutely magnificent pizza, but I was left with a more than likely pre-made, rather chewy dough with OK toppings. Teetering on a 5! Maybe it's because we are moving and I have been in a state of famish for the past three days, but the Pizza Cutter pizza has been hitting the spot this week two nights in a row! It's simple math, burn a ton of (much needed) calories hauling boxes, replenish with a couple of carbtastic meals. The Pizza Cutter is a little joint juuuust outside downtown Northville, though you can fling a pizza to where downtown starts. My husband has been telling me for years that they have such good pizza here, but has held back on getting me some for all this time. What's up with that, right? Needless to say that now that we live within a 2 mile radius, it was time to get some after a hard days work. We ordered a large round, one half with onion and mushrooms, the other half with garlic and onion. Garlic and onion is the way to go, man. Paired with a side of their dreamy, creamy, garlicky ranch it was pure heaven. So we put that order on repeat the next day. Gluttony.. we haz it. Eventually we ended up trying the square pizza here as well because my husband is difficult and the only person in our family that doesn't fully appreciate the beauty of a perfect, round crusted specimen. He even had to admit that Pizza Cutter's square is a little different. If you are looking for a big, fluffy dough base with crispy, crunchy high raised edges covered with frico'd cheese - this is not it. The square pizza reminded me of a flatbread almost, rather than aforementioned conventional style square. Many people seem to like the square here judging by other reviews, so go for it if you'd like! Don't throw away any of those pizzaboxes, though. There is a nifty little coupon on the side of the lid which you can cut out (and then you can throw the box out.. ). For every 12 pizzas you buy, you receive a free medium pizza (with those 12 little tabs). read more
