Can't recommend Ken enough. Brought in my 2011 for a trigger job and his work is phenomenal. Ken is an actual REAL gunsmith. So many people wouldn't even take the work on a 2011 and not only was it done quickly but he cleaned and lubed my pistol and adjusted my trigger to exactly what I wanted it to be. Thanks!

As others have already highlighted, Ken is top notch and provides an excellent service/cost ratio. He was upfront with his lead time and patient when listening to my service request. I came in to get a CGW pro package installed on my CZ-97B along with a picatinny rail and a dovetail optic mount. He was accurate in lead time and my gun came back looking great. The internals looked just as great upon further inspection back home. Lastly and what I appreciate the most is supporting an American small business and Ken's genuineness when walking me through the difference between full size and micro dots. And warned against not being satisfied with a micro dots on a full size pistol like a CZ97. I decided to go with the smaller optic for personal preferences but respected his honestly with what the norm looks like.

I brought my beretta m9a1 to ken and what a guy so cool to just be around and really is the wizard of a gun smith he replaced all my polymer parts to steal parts installed my custom grips as well as my red dot he finished in about 2.5 hours and ohhh man what a job he did I'm so happy I feel like a kid at Christmas!!! I'm lucky I found this place and met ken!! Highly recommend if you need a gun smith

I went to Ken for refinishing my shotgun that I had scratched up. He did a fantastic job of repairing the firearm by stripping the original finish and refinishing it. The finish now looks better than the factory finish. He's also very knowledgeable about firearms and very friendly; I must have asked him 20 questions about different things. Ken's price for his work is also very reasonable. I have a few other guns I would like him to work on in the near future.

Dropped off a Colt Commander 1911 for an extended grip safety and a combat hammer. Just picked it up, I can't tell you how impressed I am with his work and how reasonable his price was. I highly recommend him for any gun smithing you need.

TLDR: Stan (the owner) is an uneducated, hard-headed, lazy, paranoid old man. Take your business…read moreelsewhere if you value your time. First, there are his working hours. I've pulled up multiple times at 4:30PM, 30 minutes before closing DURING business days, and the store will already be closed up. No explanation, nothing. On TOP of already being open only 4 days per week, sometimes Stan will just take 2 more days off unannounced. You will just show up at his storefront only to be greeted with a sign that says, "taking Thurs and Fri off, see you next Tues." Also, I visited once to pick up ammunition and Stan is at the counter doing paperwork on his laptop and informs me I will have to wait for him to finish. I politely answered that's fine. Then proceeded to wait 20 minutes doing nothing before he "finishes" his paperwork and helps me. There was NO other person working at the store. Based on my experience, Stan clearly does not value your time, only his own. He may have lower fees but it is NOT worth your time. If you DO plan on visiting for God knows what reason, call ahead. But you're much better off taking your business elsewhere, plenty of good FFLs in the area (greta's, smokin b, etc) Third thing, Stan does NOT understand current California Gun Laws. His mentality is simply "My Shop, My Rules." You cannot reason with him, if you print out CA penal codes he will just throw it in the bin. He is not one of those pro 2A shops that wishes to empower his community. He is a paranoid conservative owner who only cares about himself. And if he THINKS you will harm him or his business in any way even if what you're doing is completely legal, he will just yell at you. He simply does not care. Despite holding an FFL07 license to manufacture, the owner panicked over a completely legal Glock upper assembly. It does not matter if its a gen 3 or gen 6, whether the slide or barrel is serialized or not, they are BOTH NOT FRAMES OR RECEIVERS in the eyes of the CA DOJ. I urge you Stan to read up on CA DOJ Penal Codes. He even went so far as to say this transfer will "put him in jail." Stan has no problem transfering a gen 3 upper. But if it is gen 6 upper, he will freak out saying that it must be DROS'd as a complete firearm, even though the gen 3 he transfered was NOT registered as a firearm. He seems to believe ANYTHING that is serialized is a receiver or frame which is very far from the truth. First off, a handgun part cannot EVER be classified as a receiver, that is reserved for LONG GUNS. Handgun parts can be classified as a frame. And secondly, a handgun upper assembly is NOT classified as a frame because it does not house a trigger mechanism or sear. LOOK IT UP in CFR handbook. He is just a paranoid old man who only cares about himself. And he will accuse you of trying to ruin his shop based on nothing but his own paranoia. Mind you these experiences all took place within about a month. It doesn't take long for Stan to show his true colors. This is my final warning, stay away from this shop. I don't know what it was like before but I can tell you what it is like right now, and it is not a friendly 2A shop. The owner is a lazy and selfish paranoid old man, who you do NOT want to deal with.

A secondary proof of residence is ONLY when buying a hand gun in California. Not a rifle. But the owner had a hissy fit when I tried to prove it using his own rules and regs from his copy of the DOJ rules. He refused to read the next paragraph where it clear states my point. He got mad and arrogant. I took my business to feild Of Glory 3 blocks away(cheaper too) and they know the laws and don't make you go through bs that isn't necessary (just because he's too lazy to or proud to be proven wrong. You can look it up yourself in the DOJ web site. Been buying guns for 40 years and these young ignorant soon to be out of business guys unfortunately think they are smarter than anyone and can't be bothered or educated. Kinda like when a liberal claims men can get pregnant. They will not listen to the facts and cause their customers more hassle some times. Hey, I an too old to put up with the younger generation's idiocy. You mileage may very.
