I'm really happy I found this place. I recently needed a DROS done on a firearm being shipped in from an online retailer. Had it sent to VC Armory. A lot of dealers these days arent keen on doing that these days. I called them, and they said no problem. They notified me less than an hour after I got the UPS notice that the package arrived at their location. I showed up just a short while later to start the process. Its a nice small shop in a quiet part of town. I really appreciated how chill the atmosphere was. I think it took all of 10 minutes to get the paperwork done, and off I went. 10 days wrapped, and I went for my pickup today. Again, the shop was super chill. Took less than 10 minutes to wrap everything up. Start to finish, the process was painless. Most gun shops are typically not places I'm super comfortable at. They tend to have semi aggressive staff, customers, or both. And they also tend to be very vocal about their political affiliations. VC Armory had none of those things. That alone is going to make them my go to LGS from here on out. read more

I absolutely love this place! So many people told me to check this place out and then it happened. My dad ruined me. He gave me a gift certificate that included 3 simulators and 1 outdoor session. Now I'm hooked. I learned more in 1 hour with Justin than I learned in 9.5 hours with a guy who shall remain nameless out behind Sherwood (initials GS) for my CCW. Let's just say you get what you pay for. When it comes to something as serious as carrying a gun you should get the proper training. Now I will continue to come to VC Armory to train as much as possible. I finally feel comfortable to carry on my body because of the real life situations that Justin put me in. The entire crew is awesome! And I love my Rocky and Charlie which I take at least and extra 20 mins to play with. read more

Squib loads! Bought a bag of 50 reloads (it was a few rounds short) and took it to the range the same week purchased. TWO squib rounds about 30 shots in. The rangemaster kindly helped remove them. In conversation, he asked where I got these from and when I said "Ventura," he immediately asked if it was VC Armory and I was shocked to find out others have had the same experience. I recently got my CCW and I went to VC Armory to put in my 16 hours of training. Justin, the owner is a great instructor. The first time at the shooting range, outside was a lot more intense than I expected, but worth it. The second time was so much better, because I knew what to expect.I was surprised at how many rounds of ammo I went through. So be ready to shoot 200 rounds or more and bring 4 magazines, because 2 isn't enough. Justin knows what he's doing and he helped me be a safe and responsible gun owner. VC Armory has ordered hard-to-find guns for me, completed a private party transfer, completed a gift/will transfer, built me a complete rifle, sold me ammunition, sold me accessories, and trained me. True experts in everything guns and ammo. Nothing but the best. I've run THOUSANDS of VC Armory rounds through my rifle and pistol. I've had ONE round cause a "weapon out of battery". A simple fist to the back of the slide, and I sent it down range without a hitch. Justin employs local veterans and is one himself. He allows his employees ample time to continue their higher education during the work week, which is hard to come by these days. I was looking for a place to install a A2 front sight on my Barrel and I came across this place. I have to tell you I have never felt at home at a gun shop until I found this place. Justin makes you feel welcomed and is willing to work with you on ideas and your thoughts. The place is very, very, reasonably priced. They have a big guard dog by the name of Rocky at the door but don't let him scare you he's a big sweetheart. All in all this shop is a find no high pressure techniques in sales pitches and no judgment at all. Excellent customer service. Recently I received my CCW training from the exceptional staff at VC Armory. Gun training, handling, and shooting occurred at an outdoor range in the Los Padres mountains. The training was a full morning event with actual size torso/head rubber mannequins used as targets ... no paper targets! The VC Armory staff were many and extremely competent. Each were very personable, friendly, and provided individualized attention during instruction and hands-on training. I have had CCW training in past years, but VC Armory is by far the BEST! Since the CCW license in CA is only good for two years I will definitely be returning to VC Armory for the required training and range qualification. Justin and the entire VC Armory crew are awesome!
