When I called Big Bend MIT to come over and take a look at my internet speed and connection, they…read morecould not identify the problem as I am paying for 900 mb from AT&T fiber and the TVs always circling and we can't enjoy our shows. Also uploading my videos to my YouTube channel was a nightmare. So they suggested a wireless system that will outperform anything else and will solve all my problems. They wanted to charge me $699 per device and $125 installation and configuration, saying that I need 2 for the house, 1 for downstairs and 1 for upstairs. I thought this is nuts, simply expensive. I paid their consultation fee of $125 for nothing. I went to best buy and I spoke with the geeks squad about my problem, he was very helpful, he recommended Orbi two devices for $762 and instructed me on how to install it and how user friendly and easy to do. I paid for it and took it home, I sat them up myself and tried it out. What a great wifi, I was able to get internet all over the place. No dead spots in my house anymore. But the internet speed still bad while I am paying premium, TVs still circling and my uploads takes forever. I called the geeks squad and requested a visit to see if I have done something wrong. They came to my house and the guy was so helpful and professional. However he could not get my internet speed up. I asked him to return the equipment back and he said he can't take them, I had to go to the store and return them. Anyhow, I called AT&T for the zillionth time and they indicated that everything from their end was perfect. So I was lost. I called Big Bend MIT again and I asked if they guarantee their work and they said they warranty their work for life. I was like ok come on in and get this done. The technician showed up and had the equipment, it was linksys and she started working. I was like, I saw that at best buy and they did not recommend it to me, jeez this problem is not going to be solved. After a while she told me she was done and asked me to look at the internet speed on her phone. I was like, I don't care what your phone shows, I am going to try the internet speed myself. I turned on my apple TV and put on a movie, then fast forward, no circling. I was like oh well ok, then I went to my computer and tried to upload a video to my YouTube channel and it uploaded it in few seconds. I was like alright, wow, ok then what? I guess the problem is gone! My bill was nuts, $1648 but I sucked it up since the problem was solved. So anyway I was at Walmart and found those linksys 3 devices for 469 and I was pissed off. I requested the associate to show me those and he said he cant open the box so I bought them and came back home to find out those looked the same but much smaller in size and lighter in weight. Honestly I was relieved. So anyway I unplug the devices I just bought from Bug Bend MIT and plug those new ones to try them, and it was like the orbi, coverage everywhere but internet was very slow. So I packed them again and took them to Walmart for returns. I came back and plug the devices I bought from Big Bend MIT and the speed was outstanding. Honestly, it was worth every penny, they are not cheep but they don't cut on the quality. They solved my problem once and for all. I highly recommend them, especially for wifi.

I bought my own mount and so they charged only for the mounting service itself which I found to be reasonably priced and within my budget. My technician Jeff did an excellent job. Nothing was connected or hookup up when he got here so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that he not only mounted the TV perfectly and hid the wiring but also connected all my streaming devices so I didn't have to. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING THIS BUSINESS GO TO ALTEX…read more My mother recommended me this business after my laptop died. I usually do business with Altex as they are fast, professional, and have reasonable pricing. In the future, I will continue to do business with Altex. I brought my laptop in after initially diagnosing it myself as a burned out motherboard. I told the college-aged intern at the receptionist desk what I believed it to be and he told me they charged a $50 diagnostic fee to identify problems but that it would be used towards labor should it come to that. I told him I really just needed them to locate the motherboard and do the replacement as I have a lack of time. He noted this and I left. About two days later I got a call informing me that my diagnosis was correct and that they could not locate a replacement from a reliable source. They would help me "find a replacement laptop" or I could buy a motherboard from a wholesaler in China, but the business would not undertake the risk, as they often could not reliably get a refund for faulty parts from factories in Shenzhen. As a similar laptop would cost upwards of $1200, I chose to take my risks but ordering a $100 motherboard from China. Two weeks later, the motherboard came in. I delivered it in the box to the repair company. They called me once to say "everything's great! Come pick it up" and then again to say "the motherboard is blown" within about 30 minutes. I went to go find out what happened on my lunch break. I was able to talk to the tech that installed the motherboard who confirmed that it was DOA (dead on arrival). Unfortunately, they did not test it with a voltmeter prior to installing and charged me TWO HOURS OF LABOR. At this point, I am now ~$250 in the hole for a laptop that still does not work. I asked for a manager, and was presented with the lady who initially advised me on my choices. Please note, at this time, I was also in the process of building a laptop via Altex's knowledgable staff. They walked me through the entire process, from picking out parts, to assembly (and they do assembly free should you buy parts there). Extraordinarily professional all around. However, the manager not only initially refused to use my diagnostic fee towards labor (until I told her this is what I was told), she also denied that she advised me that I had "two options" with them. This made me so upset I refused to pay, and left. I consulted my mother, who desperately wanted photos left on the hard drive and said she would pay for the laptop back, so I returned to the store and began paying. As I was in the process of paying, I chatted up the tech who advised me I "should have contacted the original manufacturer to purchase a motherboard. Why did the repair shop not do this themselves. I asked Altex and they said this would have been their first point of contact. I have since disassembled my laptop and had the hard drives installed in my desktop AT NO CHARGE via Altex. Tldr: shady company. Seems manager doesn't know how the industry works. For a comparable price, go to Altex for your hardware needs.

I walk in on Tuesday morning telling them that my DC power jack was loose and needed it replaced, and it needed to be done by Thursday. I asked them if they could have it done by Thursday, they said if I paid for all the expedited costs they could for sure have it done. Then they ordered the wrong part. Wouldn't be done by Thursday. I asked them if I could have the part number so I could just repair it myself. No we can't give you that information. What? I told them to just fix it and send it to me when I returned to the country in a week so I wouldn't have to worry about it sitting on my porch when I was away (more business). I told them to ship it to me six days ago, and it was shipped yesterday. It will be arriving tomorrow approximately 20 days after I dropped it off. Granted a week of that was me being out of town, but still. Don't go.

https://www.facebook.com/share/17GqEDx35n/…read more We used this company as recommended by our home finder. While the movers were very polite and maintained a professional demeanor, they damaged our entertainment beyond repair. The movers were apologetic and assured us that they would take care of it since the company had insurance. Our entertainment center cost over 800 dollars and the piece that was broken was a vital piece as it holds our entertainment center together. Later, they stated that the insurance covered 43 dollars and the owner ever so graciously (insert sarcasm) offered to pull out of his own pocket 7 dollars to make it an even 50. We told him the amount to replace that piece and asked to replace it instead he did not agree to replace what they damaged. We have a storage that needs moving and asked for services to move a few boxes from storage. He offered it at a discount. The discount they initially gave us was 60 an hour. They do not stick by their word on their website to protect us and our property. Their insurance is worthless. We tipped their guys 50 dollars for their courtesy and kindness and their assurance to take care of the damages. I would not take their offer to move our tiny storage because I figured what if they damage something else. we are actually losing money by hiring this company. I do not recommend this company at all. I wouldn't even accept a free move from them any longer (if they even offered that) with how we were treated...as if our valued things are none of their concern. we weren't asking for something unreasonable just to pay the price of the broken piece for us to order or them purchase the part that they broke themselves. My resolution was 50 dollars.
