Guild D-55 with harmonica

I want to give Jack in the Repairs Department a shout-out. I was interested in having a pickup installed in my Guild D-55 acoustic guitar, and was considering a somewhat expensive option. Jack took one look at the guitar and suggested a pickup that Guitar Center doesn't even sell. His reasoning was that the pickup I had been considering would likely change to sound of the guitar unamplified. After doing a little online research, I ordered the suggested pickup online (saving over $200), and when it arrived I brought the guitar and pickup to Guitar Center and left it with Jack for installation. The turnaround time was only about 24 hours, he did a fantastic job on the overall setup, and the guitar sounds great. It's individual employees like Jack that make this Guitar Center more than just a "chain store". I will definitely be a regular customer.

Me and the Ibanez Jem 20th anniversary guitar!
Joe B.

A few years back I brought in a Ibanez 20th anniversary guitar to sell and I got such an insult for an offer and was treated like absolute dirt from the staff. yet funny how they were wowed on the acrylic plastic guitar creation Ibanez made in the 20th yet they want to barely give me $2500 if that for the guitar that's worth today almost $20,000 using lies from ebay and reverb. I know they'll remember me because the guitar is only one of 500 made ever in the world and I love hearing the bad reviews of this place because it's the truth. Nothing will ever change at this store or guitar centers stores they need to go out of business and be done with! I do all my shopping on Amazon and eBay and never look back to guitar center ever again and so should you!

Fender explaining that electric guitars IN FACT have thinner necks than acoustics do

I'm not sure anyone who works here has actually played any instruments before. At all. Got into a five minute debate on whether or not electric guitars generally have a thinner neck than acoustics do. The guy was trying to convince me that "ALL GUITAR NECKS ARE THE SAME"! Huuuuuuuh? On every guitar manufacturer website it says that generally most electric guitars have thinner necks. Don't trust these dudes. They do not play guitar at all.

John is a gifted teacher who takes his own playing very seriously. This means that he is constantly growing as a musician and sharing those lessons with his students in a way the they can relate to. He meets the student where they are, but does not give in to the temptation to cater exclusively to their wants; John preaches balance in playing and practicing and will not hesitate to prescribe work in weak areas. Every time I see John in person, he has grown as both a player and a teacher. He is at the forefront of 'ukulele education on the national and international stage. If you are interested in deepening your understanding of the instrument, you should run - not walk - to Ukulele Inspired Studios.

There were many things I loved about my lessons with John. First off, his positive energy and enthusiasm made our lessons such a pleasure. Something else that made John's approach totally unique was that his lesson content is very student-driven; rather than assigning me songs to practice, he would ask me what I wanted to learn. I would show him songs I was interested in, and he would help me figure out how to play them. In the weeks when life was busy and I didn't have a song in mind, he would make suggestions that I could choose from. He also challenged me by incorporating musical theory into our lessons, and took into account my prior knowledge from playing piano and singing. Another unique aspect of John's teaching is that he would video record new finger work or strum patterns, and share the videos with me. This way when I was practicing at home and didn't remember how to play something, I could always rewatch the videos. If you're at all considering taking ukulele lessons, I highly recommend that you work with John!

The team setting up was super friendly and we felt like we'd been there many times before-even though it was our first time. Very comfortable and relaxed which really helped with performance. Our engineer, Josh was so efficient and good at what he did, it was really neat to watch him work and care so much about the quality of our project. We were given a tour of another studio they have for live performances and hope to record in there as well. We got great tracks and great memories. We are planning on booking again to do some overdubs and vocals! Highly recommend.

The problem was that when they returned my call for what was to be a small transfer session, it was 2-3 weeks after their system had crashed and the music files were lost. Briel 10/24/15 Positive Update on Colorado Sound Many years later, we were able to go back into the studio here and get a much better product than the first sessions. Colorado Sound took the time to open up their doors so we could finish up the tracks. We were able to record a great Chorus in their A Room, which is a must for any pro musical project. The sound engineer, Jesse, was able to bring in a high-quality level of skill to this sessions. Great production work on the drum beats that filled in the rest of the Halloween song, "Creepin In" He also made changes to the audio I did not ask for, in a negative direction, which I noticed during playback. Also, the owner never checked in with me again so he only fixed the error to get me to change my review. I don't feel good in the end, just moderate.

By word of mouth, after trying several local repairmen, I got wind of "Shon" at Sound Town. He combed over the amp tooth and nail, and finally solved the problem for me, a problem that turned out to be not so much a broken component (my guess) as operator error, a change-over from an active to passive guitar, and the need for a suitable pre-amp to boost the signal . It took a lot of testing and reading of manuals and schematics, before Sean figured out what was going on. He went so far as to compare my sound-levels with those of other amps in the stores and he was quite patient and thorough in every regard. I made several trips to the store, and became acquainted with three key people there, all of whom were very nice, and I got a feeling for their special niche in the music world, which is the supplying of sound systems and various components, whether for rentals-out or for purchase. They keep a fair supply of guitar needs and are happy to order anything you might want at a fair price. Though Guitar Center and places like Kolacny's and Flesher-Hinton all have their place, I'll always begin by shopping here because of their patience and kindness. It is a special kind of store with special kind of people, and it always feels good to be patronizing a locally owned business of modest proportions. Bravo!
