Although the salesman who came out was knowledgeable and friendly, he and his supervisor refused my request to purchase a door only and not an entire front of my house like THEY wanted me to.I needed windows also,but I decided not to purchase anything from them at all. Im tired of companies like this who wont try just a little harder to accommodate a future customers request. Guida installed a door in the rear of my house. I had wanted to replace the old door only because I wanted a doggy door. There were no other problems with the existing door. I talked at length with the salesperson about the need for a doggy door that was secure -- i.e. one that could be locked shut. He assured me it would be secure. When they installed the door, it was clear upon inspection that the doggy door panel was not secure. The cover is made of plastic. Not only that, but the workmanship for the door installation was poor. In the interior of the house, the molding was replaced incorrectly and was no longer flush against the wall. The workman also cut into the tile on my kitchen floor, chipped a chunk out of it, and then put a cheap piece of molding partly over the gap between the door framing and the tile. It looked terrible. I called to immediately discuss my concerns and asked them to save the door they had taken out, because I expected it would need to be reinstalled. They offered to return to fix the molding issue, which they did to my satisfaction (although I am still unhappy that they chipped my tile). For the doggy door problem, they would not reinstall the old door but offered to install a brand new door (at no additional cost; i.e., no discount on the full payment I had already made for the new door) and to install a screen door with a doggy door in it at a 40% discount. The offer was so absurd that I never replied. I am unwilling to pay for 1 and 6/10 doors because the Guida salesperson made a mistake. read more

I never knew that a door could provide me such happiness. It turns out it can. We found Guida on Angie's List while searching for a way to replace our awful front door. Whomever installed it did a first rate job of screwing it up to the point of it not being salvageable. From the start, our Guida experience was excellent. The salesman was knowledgeable without being pushy. He reviewed over the variety of options they had and asked us what our end game was. We settled on a model that fit our price and the timeframe. A week or so later, a representative from Guida showed up and did the professional measurements so they would know how to appropriately fabricate the door. He was very pleasant and explained the next steps very well. Nearly a month later, we got a call about scheduling the installation. The installation was completed in around 2.5 hours and the door is fantastic. It gives an excellent finished look to our home and the pieces seem both made well and installed properly. I finally have a door that is sealed properly and doesn't allow daylight and whatever else through the jamb. Based on this experience, I would give Guida highest marks. My experience with Guida from beginning to end was phenomenal. I met with the sales representative Matthew who explained the window process and installation and quality workmanship of their windows. several months later I received a telephone call from Sam informing me my windows had arrived for installation. Sam worked around my schedule for a mutually agreeable scheduling date. I had 21 windows installed and a Bay Window. The window installers were Eric, Mike and Jean, these guys were the dynamic trio, they reported early, were efficient and worked diligently all day to complete their work. All debris was cleaned up on a daily basis. Truly one of the best experience we have had in giving our home a facelift with new windows. There really is a big difference and we are glad we made a decision to replace the old windows. I have to give a KOODUS to Eric who fix my patio sliding door leading to my deck. It was getting hard to open. He adjusted my sliding door and lubricated my door at no additional cost. Just Plain old fashion customer service. The end result is that the windows look gorgeous. Our recent experience with Guida was phenomenal...so much so that we're kicking ourselves for only getting the front door replaced! Back story: we're looking at listing our house sometime in the near future. The front door has been in terrible condition for quite a bit. We desperately needed a professional to come in and look at it. Also, our heating/ac bills were ridiculous because the door didn't have a proper seal. A few contractors came through to give us their two cents, but none of them really knew how to properly fix the thing. From the moment Joe walked in, though, he could immediately tell us what the problem was. He didn't use high-pressure sales tactics; he just talked to us about our house. I remember him asking us how long we were planning on staying. When we told him our plan to sell, he was completely on board with getting us an affordable door. I really appreciated the fact that he took our real-estate goals and budget into account and didn't just recommend a expensive product. I have to admit that I didn't entirely believe him when he told me it would only take them a few hours to replace our entire door and frame - in fact, I was convinced that they would run into some kind of issue and they would need to plywood the entryway for a night. They really proved me wrong, though. They were done in two and a half hours. I can't get over how great our entryway looks now. It's also a lot more secure. We had a custom door put in last year, it was a mostly seamless process, and they did a nice job with it in just a few hours. After a year (and a few days after the warranty expired) we were having an issue opening the storm door. I called Guida, they had someone come out within a couple days and the problem was fixed, at no cost to me. Our door is as good as new now, and the issue seemed to be a rare one. One thing I abhor with Door & Window companies is the sales pitch. You probably do, too. I made it clear up front: no heat lamp, no 90-minute invasion of my home. Our salesperson respected that. We knew what we wanted -- a strong, quality storm door, with a financing option. We got exactly that, in exactly the time-frame that was promised, installed professionally, including dealing with flaws in our door frame. The price is higher than competitors, and they do not apologize for that, nor should they. You're not ordering a temporary decoration; you're asking for a permanent and important part of your home. But the financing helped, too. read more

Referred to Guida by Pella (when they determined their products wouldn't work for us) and had two replacement doors and two storm doors installed. Everyone - from sales staff in Boothwyn to installers - were professional and took the time to make sure I was fully informed about what isn't a small expense. Doors look great! All aspects of our dealings with Guida Door & Window Co. were excellent from start to finish. Our sales consultant, Brett was well informed, courteous and professional. He even called us on a Saturday to address a pre-production issue. He was upfront with explaining both the products and the cost and Guida delivered our doors weeks ahead of schedule. The doors we ordered were a custom size and they easily worked out solutions to the issues around that. Even better, Ezra, our installer was top-notch. He handled a tough, long job by himself. He told us that he was passionate about making sure the doors were "plumb and level" and operated smoothly. He delivered. He was funny and easy to talk to and invited questions. Lastly, our dealing with the office personnel were excellent also. Calls were answered immediately or returned promptly and they were well informed. We are sure that if any problem arises with our doors that Guida will stand behind their products and workman ship. We like having the option of a 0% for 18 months pay-off, which makes it easy to budget the price. We plan to use Guida next year to replace more doors for us. read more

They're not for everyone, especially for a rental property when cost is a key factor. We had an unfortunate experience with a different company before we found Guida, and they more than made up for the previous companies lack of professionalism and customer service. Ashlie our account representative was very communicative and answered my questions promptly every time. I have to say due to COVID our door was bit delayed (supply chains etc) and if not for Ashlie's quick responses and personal touch it would have been quite disappointing. Day of install we had a winter weather report and were completely expecting to have our appointment cancelled. Evan showed up and installed our door, which on a 100 year old house meant there was a bit of adjusting to the lack of level and straight lines and an all day install. He only left once the job was finished and correctly. From start to finish, we were communicated with in a honest manner and treated with respect. We ordered a beautiful double door from this company, and although it looks great, there was an issue with the installation. A few months after the door was installed, we had a storm and found water pooling inside the house right under the door. They claimed no responsibility, but could not give us an answer to how the water got inside the house. I have pictures to prove it. read more
