This facility needs to be closed down by the health department, too bad I can't give negative stars Within the short amount of time I checked in with my daughter and dog we had to leave Dead bugs on floor Rodent fences Stained and dirty bedding and furniture No battery in fire detector No one even bothered to sweep the floors Holes in the shower wall Lock on door replaced with sensor lock yet hole from lock not covered Broken ice machine that had dust and filth Non smoking facility with many people smoking and drinking alcohol outside main doors Front desk told us that they could not access cleaning after they left for the day Multiple calls and emails to property to request refund since we did not stay have never been answered a d today hotels.com said they were denying refund. I have sent these pictures from the stay to all parties and no one can deny the foul nature and not give a refund DO NOT STAY HERE

Ok, I had contacted these people about these fees, and after emails with the MGR here seems that someone had made an error on the site, and she told me it wouldn't be any cash deposit, she was nice enough where she went and gave us a room rate of $70 without all those fees and it sounds like they are going to try and remove that from the listings, the room we were given for the night is fantastic! Got the King Suite, but the only negative is no elevators here, so if you have any serious issues with walking ask for ground floor. My interaction with the GM here was very positive, and I would recommend staying here as long as you can make sure that there is no deposit fees like I had mentioned in the original post.

I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel. We used to stay here very often but under this new management it's gone to the dumps. Everything was filthy. The manager was very mean to the staff. Half the staff including the manager weren't wearing masks. There were tweakers coming and going all night. People were moving into the hotel and blocking the doors. There is mold in the bathroom. These people should be ashamed.

Be advised $25 pet fee non refundable & $100 undisclosed pet charge. This information was not readily available while booking at hotels.com. Additionally, the hotel appeared unhygienic. The manager was not helpful. The only silver lining was he agreed to let me cancel my reservation. Never again!

CAUTION - This hotel is no longer branded as a Shilo Inn. It is now called Hotel Eugene-Springfield some type of independent hotel and boy does it show. One star cause their is nothing lower I have never used YELP before but was compelled to create an account just for this experience. First off I am no hotel snob bit I want good value for my money. I read other reviews of nightly rates in the $50-70 range. Our nightly rate was $130 with taxes etc. WTF. This is a sub $80 a night place at best. Upon arrival I noted the disrepair of the place. Paint chipping and cracking. We entered what is the lobby and saw the same sign about the remodel. My take on this is they don't have enough money to finish. The lobby is so small it shouldn't take over 2 months (based on date of someone else's review) We waited at the counter for what seemed like 2-3 minutes for the employee to say something to us. I finally spoke up and said "Hi how are you" and was greeted with "I'll be right with you" We finished check in and to my surprise we were issued 2 keys. Wow I can't even remember the last time I got a hotel key. At least 12+ years ago. Again not a good sign. Upon walking the halls I noticed all the baseboard trim was missing creating a very unfinished look. The room was very small with our two beds. The side I sleep on was so close to the wall I barely had room to squeeze by. I am 5'11" at 170lbs The room was nothing to write home about. Pillow was flat and only one. Outdated items. The bed had the typical wear of a 0 year old mattress. I kept rolling to the middle cause it was not flat All the other bad reviews are spot on. Stained carpet ripped carpet look of being in kept and old wifi wires running along the halls to a router hanging by a nail. Breakfast was OK but milk and juice in a pitcher in ice oatmeal in a crock pot waffles pre made and stored under a cake cover to get cold My recommendation is to skip this place and keep looking unless this is a last resort. I noticed several other hotels within a couple of blocks of this location that are national chains that will be similar in price and 10x better I hope this helps others to not over pay for this place unless all other locations are booked solid. Run don't walk from this place.

The place looks outdated and old. The room is clean. It is quiet. The wifi works, but the AC does not work very well. They have enough electrical outlets. Ample indoor lighting. They use blackout curtains in my room. They gave me a key for my room, not a card key. The toilet seat was wobbly and in disrepair.

Kate at the front desk checked me in and she remembered my name and I appreciated her hospitality and welcome. I don't always get to do the breakfast but this visit I was so happy to enjoy an incredible spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, English muffin, breakfast danish, you can make your own waffles, and there is oatmeal with almonds and cranberries and brown sugar. Orange juice and coffee are standard and they have a breakfast kombucha if you want something a little healthier and probiotic. They also have a happy hour with regional wine, bubbles, and local beer for really reasonable prices if you just need a refresher after getting back to the hotel. The location is unbeatable with just a couple of blocks to excellent places to eat downtown like The Davis, and the Eugene Public Library nearby.

The breakfasts that are included and are generous - fresh fruit, bacon/sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, waffle bar, danishes, etc. The front desk is staffed 24/7. Had brand new fresh smell upon entering, no outdated or worn furniture, and bed/bed linen top notch. I would have given this hotel a 5/5 had it not been for the breakfast- Breakfast food tasted a little bland and not a wide selection for items.Flavor wise, I would compare it to something you'd get from a hospital (3/5 stars). Noise level-5/5. No noise at all on 3rd floor! Pool/spa area: 3.5/5. Would have been a 5 except hot tub felt luke-warm and jets were not real powerful. Front desk: 0/5 for woman working during the day hr shift. My husband said he overheard her speaking to a guest of how she likes to pick up the phone-not answering, and then hanging up on the customer-She explained that she does this because she feels that if a customer needs something so bad, that they can get up and walk to her desk and ask. I will be contacting corporate on her behavior for that. I'm not going to give this motel anything lower than a 4 based on on one staff member because I am basing this score off of the hotel, itself.

Trucks that park in the rear lot are only a short distance from family homes. Despite repeated letters, phone calls, and in-person requests, the hotel has not addressed this ongoing problem. Engines are routinely left idling for extended periods, creating constant noise, diesel exhaust, and pollution that make it difficult for nearby residents to rest or sleep. Oregon law prohibits commercial motor vehicles from idling for more than five minutes within any continuous 60-minute period, except under specific exemptions, however those exemptions are only for temperature control and not to exceed 4 hours. Excessive engine noise violates local noise and pollution ordinances, this is a fact. If you choose to idle your truck in the rear lot, nearby residents will report the violation to law enforcement for investigation which can result in fines and for you to shut off your truck. If you are a truck driver looking for a place to stay, please consider a location that is not immediately adjacent to a residential neighborhood. I went down... spoke to him, he looks at me and straight ignored me. I was going to go down and get my welcome gift that you usually get when checking in but it was such a turn off.. I just left. The AC in the room reeeks of mold. I hate this with hotels because Mold actually can get you sick. ( should know this). Plus I had my baby with me. They lied to me earlier today about being sold out for tonight. Funny thing is, I worked with Hilton. I know systems are slow to update but the room I did request is still up tonight . It's 11:32pm. ( yes Guest can still check in) however it's somewhat unlikely being that we are out of tourist season in this area. Also room had no body wash. Not a hard fix but just had conditioner and a bottle of shampoo sitting on side of tub. Either way to end this review: 1. Rooms were decently clean. That's what Matters the most. 2. Last night staff I get it. Don't be fake but do realize... attitude within hospitality matters here in America lol. 3. I'm not a slow cookie. Unfortunately, my experience this evening was particularly unsatisfactory. I extended my stay by an additional day and went out this morning at 8:00 AM. I left a sign on the door requesting housekeeping services, such as fresh towels, bed making, and trash removal. I returned intermittently throughout the day from visiting a family member at the hospital, but these requests had not been fulfilled. At approximately 5:30 PM, I returned to my room expecting the services to be completed, but they had not been. I contacted the front desk, where I was informed that the housekeeping staff had finished for the day. I also inquired about the signs I had left, which were printed in English--however, I was told that the house keeping is only Spanish. As I understand, staff members should be trained to recognize and understand these signs regardless of language, to ensure guest requests are properly handled. When I discussed this with the front desk, they mentioned that the only assistance they could provide was towels, which would require me to leave the room and obtain them myself, as no housekeeping was available. I then carefully placed the trash in the designated cleaning areas which was still open and decided to depart for the evening. The front desk stated they could provide me with an email address for customer service to file a formal complaint and mentioned that they could inform a supervisor, but there was no guarantee of resolution. I intend to submit a formal complaint regarding the language barrier and the lack of understanding of housekeeping signage. I believe it is important that staff are properly trained so they can address guest requests effectively. Additionally, Saturday morning was also frustrating. The breakfast service did not open until shortly after the scheduled time, and the attendant managing the breakfast buffet was quite unpleasant, displaying aggressive behavior such as pushing chairs as if she was truly pussed off and without regard for the setup. The breakfast offerings were incomplete at the opening, with no bread, carbs, or pancake batter available, which was disappointing. On a positive note, I appreciated that the laundry facilities included at least one washer and dryer, which were affordable and in good working condition. The availability of laundry detergent at the front desk was also convenient. However, the coffee machines--offering mochas, espressos, and lattes--have been broken since our arrival, possibly even before, and it does not appear there are plans to repair them before the weekend. Overall, I am disappointed with this renovated property. It does not seem to meet the standards expected of a Best Western Plus hotel. As a member at the Diamond or Gold level, I believe all guests should receive consistent and quality service, and I am concerned that this has not been the case during my stay.
