When we bought our historical home, the inspector told us that metal roofs can last forever and we should be happy the home had one. Well, once the leaks started and we had a professional roofer evaluate the situation (taking photos, as he said, of "how to install a metal roof the wrong way"), we knew that our home and investment were at stake and we wanted to get the right people to help us. We went the whole nine yards, meeting with multiple roofers to get an assessment and project estimates, following up to get comparable project specs and costs, and finding out as much background on the companies as possible; without question Beyond Exteriors demonstrated their expertise and professionalism throughout and their reputation for quality work is well documented. Beyond Exteriors was uniquely willing, able, and eager to think of the entire project cohesively, through three types of roofing materials, moving roof penetrations, installing insulation, and coordinating gutters. We must've emailed with Andrew about every detail of the job, more than a dozen times in total, and to his great credit he patiently helped us learn about our own roof, best practices, and quality and budget considerations. Once the contract was signed, Linda and BeLinda kept us appraised of the status of getting City permits and architectural review, as well as the forecasting of our start date; they were always a pleasure to talk to. On site, George seamlessly managed the team, communicated the how's and why's of the work, and answered any questions we had. And did we have questions -- we're analytical people putting our home and money on the line, and George could not have been any more understanding, thoughtful, and helpful, always concerned about doing things right way and explaining that way to us. Of course, the crews deserve a lot of the thanks (special shout out to the amazing Jose who came by on a Sunday to confirm the roof was ready for a rain storm before the full project finished), and it's clear the focus on quality extends to every member of the Beyond Exteriors team. The last of the punch-list was finished today and I'm already on Yelp to provide them with an outstanding review. The roof and gutters look great and, most importantly, were installed well. And that's not just my opinion (and the opinion of several neighbors who have shared their compliments): an independent, certified roof inspector we hired praised the attention to detail, quality of materials, and workmanship. My rental property in Alexandria got hit with back-to-back storms, and my tenant texted that a man named Jesse knocked on the door to offer free roof inspection services. Yes, someone knocking on the door usually raises a flag for me, but I checked out their website and thought, "Why not?" Within a week, Jesse met with an inspector from my insurance company (USAA), and Jennifer from the office sent the proposal to them. Billy (company owner) and I met online to get all the contract details in order, Melissa coordinated a date with my tenant, and when the day came, the Pure Roofing Team replaced the roof in one day. The tenant reported that the roof looks fantastic and that the clean-up was impeccable. The team made everything so seamless and easy; the hardest thing I had to do was pick out the tile color. Their quality work just upped the value of my property, and the best part: I only had to pay the deductible! The crew at Pure did an incredible job. Excellent assessment, great help with the insurance company, terrific customer service at each step. Multiple visits and consultations to work out the tricky parts. And when it came to the day of the work, they showed up with 15 guys at 5:30am and had it done by 1:00pm -- it was amazing to watch. Absolute hustle. Everything was immaculate after, including dragging all of the nearby turf and access points with magnets to collect any loose nails. Great service throughout. I am not in the habit of writing glowing reviews but I gotta say, these folks did an amazing job. I'll hire them again when my house needs a new roof.

And to top it off the salesman said I made his job difficult for adding work? that didn't get done. All the items they called out not me and they chose not to do them. "just to clarify how I normally handle referrals: if a homeowner reaches out to me and says they got my number from someone, and I sign them up from that introduction, I pay a cash referral. If I have to go knock on the door and introduce myself, l don't consider that a referral." Wouldn't have asked but was told I was getting for both neighbors just didn't have money app at the time?? Not a big deal but an example of how they will just tell you wha they want to get what they want. "However, throughout this process you've made my job more difficult, and in the end it was just to add a bunch of line items for work that's not even being done, which doesn't really help me or the project." Ended the job like this very unprofessional. As a construction professional for 35 years I can say if this is how you talk to a customer word gets around fast not a good look. Stay away from RoofER call a local contractor. This project has made my day harder going back and forth explaining what was missed and how to do correct the work done wrong or missed. You came to my house and disrupted my life for a job I didn't need at the time and didn't do a complete job your company should be embarrassed but the workmanship and sales tactics.

Other work included aluminum flashing, watershield membrane, sealant on both sides of chimney to help prevent water between gutter and brick, realignment of a loose gutter to pitch toward the downspouts instead of toward the brick chimney, and replacement of pipe flashings and some plywood and shingles in a few locations where they had lifted. They matched shingles as well as I could have expected. Thelma in the office and Luis A were very professional and provided exemplary customer service, all at a fair price. They also gave me before-and-after photos without my having to ask.

After doing my research, I interviewed several (about 5) licensed roofers. Artin was the ONLY company who knew a metal roof had to be welded, not caulked. Their estimate was mid-range of all the roofers AND they were going to do it right. That was nearly 15 years ago (the roof should last another 40 years or more). They just returned to paint the metal roof again (simple, routine maintenance every 5 years or so). I've been extremely happy with this company whom I have had do several other jobs for me (replacing fascia boards, columns, etc.). Scheduling both estimates and work is easy. This was the biggest difference between RM Banning and other companies I got quotes from. I had no clue what a lot of these products were. When I spoke with their RM Banning's staff, they further answered my questions rather than give me a sales pitch like some of the other companies. They also had the most reasonable price especially compared to others who used nearly identical products. The roof work started early and promptly and finished before dinner time! They even took extra steps to ensure the smallest debris was removed from my balcony and my neighbors' driveways. I see how they've been in business since the early 80s!
