I reserved and rented a unit online and when we got there you can hardly get your truck up the isle, and the road is at such a huge slant to unload and there was a homeless man just hanging out at his unit and we were unable to get down top the unit number. Called the next day to cancell and even tho we never used it they are charging me for the 4 days since we signed the lease. DO NOT RENT THESE UNITS. We used this company for storage but found them deceptive and possibly even fraudulent. We rented space to store my daughter's belongings from February to August. We put it on a credit card to be charged monthly through August, 2020. My daughter went there in June to get her stuff out of storage, only to find that her unit had not only been emptied but rented to someone else. All of her belongings had been stolen. When we questioned management as to how this could happen when no one from the lease was notified, they didn't have a response. Later in conversation, they tried saying that someone named "Andrew" cancelled the lease. However "Andrew's" name was never on the lease and therefore should never have been allowed to cancel it. However, I think this was a made up story on their part. We filled out a police report as over $20,000 worth of furniture and clothing, etc not to mention personal mementos were gone. We had taken out insurance but it only covered $2,000.00. We have contacted the management several times to try to seek additional insurance coverage as a place of business should have insurance coverage themselves but they have been uncooperative and dismissive. To date, the company has not responded to our complaints or resolved the problem. I would not rent storage space from here!!! Beware that we are not the only ones that have had fraud from this place. We will be seeking legal help but I wanted to warn others to not store anything valuable here!!! read more

I held back on writing a review here for a while hoping that the company would follow through with what is right and paying back what we were owed. My sister rented a storage unit here with her entire life packed in there and set up reoccurring payments so we could move out of colorado together. She was making a move but had a couple months to store her things before she did that. She had furniture, clothes, shoes, accessories, rugs, mattresses, TV, sentimental items from her entire life, pictures, paintings, etc. When she came back to get her things we called to let them know we were going to be coming to move out and cancel the payments. We then found out that her stuff hadn't been there since February.. this was back in May. Her name was the only one on the lease and she had never received any information from them regarding her unit. Essentially her stuff disappeared and they had no explanation which made us believe it was someone in the company who made a big mistake either knowingly or not and they were covering for. We had insurance but only up to 2,000.. however that is water damage or any damage that happens while trusting the company. HOWEVER they lost EVERYTHING and had NO explanation. we sent them receipts of everything we have ever bought that was in there and the total came to over 20,000. THEY WERE SILENT. They have not paid us, they are not sympathetic, and i highly highly do not recommend. We now have to lawyer up as there is no way to begin to buy everything she lost. I have a lot of friends who are still going to school in Boulder and a ton of colorado connections and friends and I tell them all to never consider trusting their items with this company. It is so much more than just furniture. They lost everything she had accumulated in her adult years and they are not sympathetic. Compared to some, Guardian is ok, its seems to be well maintained and our unit is clean. My biggest concern is the continuous increase in monthly rental fees. Within the first six months of rental there was an increase and another the following year. Although the wording on the agreement will legally allow them to do this, it is somewhat unethical. They do not give any details as to why they are applying the increase, just that they need to do this to continue to support their customers. If you are looking to take a unit at Guardian Boulder, do so in the knowledge that the rate they quote you is not the rate you will be paying going forward. There are other options locally and the pricing on those seems to be more consistent. read more

Bring them a problem, like a scattered, disjointed move-out, and add a delayed move-in, with a relocation for flavor... sprinkle a lay-off, a missed/late payment, a driver who can't manage the mechanics of towing a trailer... I threw it all at Guardian Storage with honesty and they gave it right back with acceptance, assurances, and tons of legitimate HELP. The rates were reasonable (book them directly, don't go through Spare Foot), the place is clean for being so huge, and, the neighbors are terrific, too. My bike got a tune up while I unloaded boxes into my unit! I always felt safe on property, no matter the hour. read more

We suspected it wasn't as large as promised and when we measured, found out it was only 37 square feet, 26% less than what we paid for. We have contacted the management several times to try to resolve the dispute and seek a pro-rated refund so we are only charged for the space we used. To date, the company has not responded to our complaints or resolved the problem. If you decide to go here, be very careful about the company and the promises they make. The reason for not giving five stars is that the unit I rented is 4x5, and they're charging me for a unit that's 5x5.
