After talking with some law enforcement friends it became clear that home alarms tell you when someone breaks in and rarely do they respond in less than 20-30 minutes to a home break in. After researching alternative protections I found security screens or Rolladan shutters. I examined both options and decided on on the screens since they allowed in both light and air and protected at all times. The shutters must be closed to provide security and that darkens the interior and blocks any breezes. Also the screens look amazing. It looks just like sunscreens so you don't feel you're locked in or claustrophobic at all. I went the crimsafe security screen route and couldn't be more happy that I did. Zach from the beginning, was fast, quick, efficient, showed up before my appointment, and was the cheapest (I got quotes from two other security screen companies.) I specifically got these security screens because when the realtor and myself first walked into the house to tour it, a burglar was staring us in the face, stealing the appliances. I loved the house though, so decided to purchase and just beef up the security. These screens make me sleep 1,000 times better knowing, no one is getting through them. NOW, outside of the security factor -- My house stays about 50% cooler (my windows face east and west) so the sun beams straight through. Before these screens I couldn't touch the windows, they were so hot. Now the screens absorb all of the heat. So in my opinion, the screens will pay for themselves in energy alone. RESCUED by Security Assessment Group! I am a homeowner who had security screens previously installed by the now defunct Security Screen Masters of Las Vegas. Over time the door handles fail as I came to discover when yesterday morning the latch on the patio door failed suddenly and I was LOCKED OUT of my own house! Having just confirmed the week before that my "lifetime guarantee" with Security Screen Masters was useless I was in a panic. I knew I would have to call either the fire department or try one more time calling for help. The product they use 3M is amazing! The 15% product was applied on all my windows and it has darker up the house. The sun no longer fades my blinds and my furniture. I can keep all my blinds open and it gives me complete privacy during the day. At night time with the lights on it's much harder to see inside the house. During the summer months it makes 4-5 degree difference in room temperature. My installer, Zach, was very professional, answered all my questions and cleaned everything up better than he found it.
