A cozy, smaller spot where you can see right into the kitchen where the food is being prepared, El Nopal of Floral Park does not skimp on flavor or portion size. Our waiter, God forgive me because I cannot remember his name, was a delightful, kind man who spoke very highly of his place of work when I complimented the food. I came here with a friend: he ordered 3 different tacos and absolutely cleared all of them, while I ordered the carne asada con camarones which came with pico de gallo, rice, and beans. I added a whole grilled/roasted jalapeño and I'm incredibly happy that I did. While pico de gallo might go unnoticed or sound run-of-the-mill, this batch was far from it - the vegetables were bright, fragrant, and fresh, wonderfully complimenting the rest of the food. Two heaping portions of whole well-seasoned, well-cooked carne asada topped with 3 delicious shrimps was the main attraction, with yellow rice placed on the same plate, hot and ready to be eaten. Refried beans were served in a separate ramekin and were also very flavorful. Additionally served with the entree is a cheese tortilla. While this volume of food may seem overwhelming to some, the dish was undoubtedly cohesive and I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed every bite of it. At $21.80 + $1 for the jalapeño, this was an absolute deal. Can't wait to visit again!

I've been getting huaraches - thicker fried base with avoc, refried beans and fresh veg. toppings, crema, grated cheese, and grilled beef for me. Some in my family get either nachos with meat (lengua at same price) or California nachos (over fries, instead of tortillas) as their meal. We usually have leftovers to take home bec. of the large portions. For the protein, can choose one, or mixed meat at a slightly higher price. They're very generous with toppings. Tacos come in 3/order; can be mixed meat as well except for some options, like lengua which was charged per taco. Tasted the cheesy pupusas before. No tamales. Tamarind drink is on the sweeter side. I prefer the horchata here. Service was attentive. The young man during our last visit was very pleasant. They accommodate requests to put toppings on the side. Located on Jericho Turnpike - we usually get one of the few meter parking spots in front. Bright and colorful decor. Restroom available.

I tried the 3-taco combo with the mango lemonade and queso, and for $12 on Uber Eats (deal running through June 30), it's hard to beat. You can mix it up with fries, sweet corn, or queso plus a drink, which makes it feel like a steal given the portions and quality. The tacos themselves are solid, but the queso really steals the show--easily my favorite part of the meal. Everything is fresh, filling, and perfect for a quick post-work bite. Drink options are great too; while the mango lemonade was refreshing, the strawberry lemonade is definitely my top pick so far. Affordable, tasty, and convenient--Tony's is doing it right.

If you read my review of the Franklin Square store you'll see that I was blown away by the quality, freshness & flavors. Sadly that was not the case on this visit. Ordered ahead through the app, showed up about 2 minutes after the time they said it would be ready and was told they were just bagging it up - no big deal. This took about 5 more minutes but allowed me a window into what was going on as I waited. The young man behind the counter while seemingly attentive also didn't appear to care very much. I ordered a large watermelon juice and saw one sitting on the counter but wondered if it was mine as it appeared to be a small. The young man behind the counter must have realized this and grabbed it alongside a large cup. Unfortunately, his way of "correcting" this was to just dump more ice in the cup, not any juice on top of what was in the small. Now I'm already feeling a little cheated. Everything was bagged up & stapled shut before being handed over. Trusting that it was how it should be I carried the bag out and went on my way. Unfortunately I was foolish to do so - no straw, utensils or napkins to be found. Having to scrounge for a straw as well as a spoon for the street corn when I got back to work was incredibly frustrating. On to the food - here's the rundown: Street Corn - taste was there just like the last time but temperature wise it was way off. Why one store sends it out piping hot and another lukewarm is beyond me Funghi Quesadilla - I was such a fan of this from the FS store, perfectly cooked and still piping hot. Here at FP it came not so hot and the veggies inside nowhere near the level of caramelization I got the first time around. Felt phoned in Milanese Taco - good but not great. Balsamic was a nice touch, probably the best thing I got this time around. Shrimp Mango Taco - rice was ok but felt out of place. Shrimp were tasty but the mango was incredibly bland, probably underripe. Disappointing to say the least Cauliflower Explosion Taco - veggies underdone just like the quesadilla. Lots of potential if properly executed but this one fell flat Maybe they had an off day, I don't know. Either way it's pretty sad that I suddenly shifted from a top notch experience to mediocre and no need to come back. Maybe I'd try again but at this location I'd be incredibly hesitant. Worth the extra few miles drive to go back to FS honestly.

The truffle steak is pretty much a must order every time I come here, but this time Hawaiian chicken was even better. Both quesadillas were hefty and bigger than what other places serve. I recommend using the queso as a dip to really level up the quesadillas. Service: 5/5 The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly, quick with our orders, and gave us time when we needed to review the menu. Ambiance: 5/5 The ambiance is clean, modern, and casual with a bright, upbeat feel. For my order I went with a trio of tacos - al pastor, coconut shrimp (both of these were listed as signature items) and the crispy fish. The Al Pastor was the best of them, but overall the tacos were on the sweet side probably due to the condiments and additions of onions and corn that were pickled. Glad they have hot sauces on the table to bring need heat. I got a side salad with this - I would say this is bit of afterthought lettuce with 3 pieces of cucumber and tomato each there wasn't much to it. I tried the Carne Asada bowl - again a bit on the sweet side, but they give a good amount of food. They use a cheese blend and I think one of them is a parmesan because it tasted a bit out of place. We ordered a piece of tres leches and it had a maple flavor that was unexpected. It took me a second, but I placed that it reminded me of a discontinued Entenmann's cake that I think was maple walnut iced cake. If you remember that and miss it then get this. I enjoyed this non-traditional version. Although not the best Mexican food I would come back here and perhaps try other items on the menu since it seems inventive, but I will keep my expectations in check because the execution doesn't always hit the mark.

Some of the tacos were done well, particularly the crispy fish taco and crunchy shrimp tacos. The chicken taco and birria tacos were also not bad mostly because they had enough sauce to keep it moist. The Al pastor steak taco unfortunately we would probably avoid in the future. The steak was dry and the taco was just not moist enough to eat happily. We had a side of nachos which was great and also the street corn side as a dip was also delicious. The jalapeño poppers had a good crunch, however, it lacked any spice at all and tasted almost like a regular fried green pepper. Even though we ordered out, the ambiance seemed nice inside and also kid friendly. We may return in the future to try other menu items.
