We have 2 very large decks that are 38 years old and in very bad shape. New deck replacement would have cost more than $100,000. They did an amazing service replacing over 60 redwood boards and installing new framing and piers where needed. Our deck looks brand new and we will enjoy it for the coming decades. Thank you Sam and your wonderful team.

They also tied in our downspouts to separate solid PVC pipes. Finally, they installed surface drains and poured new patio cement. For the cement, they offered a wide variety of colors. During the bidding / quote process, Jeremy was courteous and took the time to clearly explain different options. He responded promptly to follow-up questions. The on-site crew was great with Miguel and Lazaro leading the team. This was a difficult project requiring a lot of manual work as a hillside made it impossible to bring down heavy machinery for digging the trenches or hauling out the old asphalt and concrete. Nevertheless, they completed the project in two weeks including working a Saturday. In addition, we had them pour a concrete slab in a basement crawl space. We only asked for a basic slab. They went above and beyond by building out a small retaining wall at its back and tied it into the foundation with rebar.

I originally hired Rolando just for the initial deck repair but found out he and his team can do so much more. Rolando is communicative, collaborative, honest, and trustworthy. His prices were competitive and fair, and they were timely, efficient, and cleaned up everyday. We had a great experience with IVS Fence & Ironworks, a family business that takes real pride in…read moreits work. Our project spanned several months and included a wrought iron fence with concrete/stucco pillars, an automated sliding driveway gate, and a pedestrian gate. It was a complex job with four other subcontractors involved across design, electrical, landscaping, and stucco finishing. Ignacio, the owner, was always available by phone or text and willing to talk through ideas with us. He also would send pictures during fabrication to ensure we were aligned on design details. He was upfront about change orders, and whenever something wasn't quite right, he did his best to make it right. That kind of communication and accountability isn't something you get with every contractor. Our fence sits on a tricky slope, and Ignacio really sweated the details. He had to build the driveway gate just right and pour the concrete track at precisely the correct angle to match--and he totally nailed it. His team brought the heavy gate out several times to ensure it stayed plumb throughout its travel along the slope. He put a lot of thought into engineering something that would last--in fact, I had to talk him down from a few ideas for making the gate even sturdier! His team was respectful, friendly, and did great work. They also kept the job site clean at the end of each day, which we appreciated throughout a long project. I'd highly recommend IVS to anyone looking for thoughtful craftsmanship and a contractor who stands behind his work.

Ignacio, who came for the site visit and identified himself as the owner, was very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. However, Jackie, (not clear to me if she's the co-owner or Ignacio's wife) finalizes pricing and pretty much runs the show. For our project, we had picked IVS to do the work, but the price kept increasing by thousands of dollars. I asked to speak with Ignacio since these changes were inconsistent with what I discussed with him and put them week above our other quotes, but Jackie said that's not necessary since she decides the pricing. They also charge tax on materials, which no other fencers do (since they're already paying tax to Home Depot, etc.). These business practices felt disingenuous to me and like bait and switch. I've had issues in the past with businesses like this that once the work begins they'll change order you again and ask for more money. So we did not use them. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range and IVS was around $12K. All were licensed and bonded. We went with the lowest quote and are extremely happy with our fence.

The kitchen we inherited had moldy counters, a leaking sink, and a generally rough, unpolished look. Yvonne was recommended to us by our real estate agent, and we're certainly glad he did! She was responsive, listened to our concerns (particularly around budget) and gave us useful recommendations for visioning what our kitchen would eventually turn into. Her crew was very professional and respectful, and we felt at ease having them around. We absolutely love what our kitchen has been transformed into, and we especially appreciate how Yvonne made us feel involved and listened to our feedback and additional requests throughout the project.
