I came in because I was referred by some relatives and had been following the Cutting Team on Instagram. I came in for a haircut and a balayage. I wanted a caramel color so that it would be a subtle change. I had let the stylist know that I had dry hair that easily tangled. I loved that as soon as I got in for my appointment the stylists/owners got straight to work with bleaching and separating my hair. When I had previously gotten my hair dyed it was at home with my sister. I had the pleasure of walking around and doing whatever I wanted. During the bleaching process I started to get fidgety but I didn't say anything discouraging about the process. I was confused about why I had to sit for such a long time with the bleach because I only wanted my hair a couple shades lighter. After the bleaching process, I got my hair washed and toned. The toning process took way less time than the bleach. After my hair was done toning, the stylists proceeded to brush out my hair. I had already told them about the nature of my hair and they still decided to use a metal roller brush instead of a wet brush. Because they brushed my hair with a metal roller brush on wet hair, just brushing my hair took so long and there was a lot of breakage. I'm not tender headed but with the amount of time it took to brush my hair and with the type of brush, my head was sore. They finally finished and we moved on to the haircut. When I had walked in to my appointment, they had asked me what kind of haircut I wanted and after I said "layers" they said "okay." I wanted lots of layers but didn't feel like I could say anything after the "okay." It was almost as if they knew what I wanted. I let it slide which was my fault. Since they already knew what kind of haircut I wanted, the stylist just started cutting. When she was done she said, "there, long layers." I didn't think much of it since you can't really mess up layers. After my haircut, I got my hair blow dried and styled. Overall, it took 5 hours for the whole process and I paid $306 after tip. It wasn't until the next day that I could see all the mistakes made. My layers are pretty much nonexistent and someone said they looked "chunky." My hair was also extremely off compared to the color I wanted and what I got. It was too blonde and looked like 2007 chunky highlights. I called back 2 days later to schedule a correction. The week of the correction appointment Texas had a winter storm with power outages and water issues. I hadn't received any calls from the salon prior to the appointment about rescheduling, mind you it was 3 days after the initial winter storm. I texted the stylist about rescheduling and she said appointments were cancelled until they were back up and running. I was understanding and wished her family well. A couple more days go by and The Cutting Teams Instagram made a post about how they were open for business again and yet I hadn't received a call about rescheduling. A couple more days and still no call, I finally called and scheduled the correction. When I came in for the correction I had let the previous and new stylist know that the bottom portion of my hair seemed lighter than what I wanted. The old stylist skimmed through my hair and gave the new stylist instructions. The new stylist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She sectioned my hair so that the back of my head was the only thing that was being re-toned. After the toning I got my hair dried and thought everything looked good. When I got home I realized that now the front portion of my head was a completely different color than what was perfectly re-toned. I'm am absolutely disappointed with the customer service. I had extremely high hopes for this place because of the referrals, reviews, and posts. I was let down twice. For my initial appointment I felt as though the owners/stylists were in a rush, inattentive, and cold. I wished the stylists/owners would have noticed that my hair color didn't match what I wanted after the initial balayage session. Had they told me I needed to come back to tone down my hair I would have been perfectly fine. For the correction appointment, one of the owners/previous stylist only skimmed through my hair instead of actually double checking their work and noticing mistakes. Everything seemed so rushed. I went to an Aveda salon in Chicago for close to 10 years (such a great salon) and thought that Aveda salons would be consistent across the country...oh, goodness, no. The first Aveda salon thinned my beautiful thick hair (didn't ask first) and the second literally left my perfect level 9/10 blonde balayage locks Bozo red and patchy. The senior colorist "tried" three times to bleach (she used developer, I later learned, which, of course, will never lead to the level of tone to create a blonde balayage) my very bleach-able hair before telling me "good luck" after attempting a shadow root, as for the third, thank God. Jessy at Carbon Salon literally saved my hair before my vacation and I will be forever grateful. Jessy was an absolute professional gem throughout my hair processing; she was knowledgeable, honest, and kind. Jessy did nothing without telling me first, which is something I needed after so many failed attempts to get my hair right. After my previous Texas salon colorists wanted me to know their whole life stories, Jessy wanted to know as much about me as I wanted to about her (again, super professional). Of course, that tied into my preferences with my hair color, cut, and style. Jessy took the time to listen to me and delivered a completely polished hair style that left me crying happy tears. The other thing about Carbon Salon is that each individual working there loves their job, and it shows. I have a lot of hair and it took quite a bit of time to complete, but Jessy never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her or slowing her down. Instead, she was insanely organized and, if the other professionals noticed a need to keep things moving with my hair journey, they volunteered to help. I walked away blown away by the kindness and professionalism of the staff, aesthetic of the salon, and above all, the results. As long as I am in Texas, I will be a client of Carbon Salon. I'm really disappointed with my recent salon experience. I had been growing my hair out for four…read moreyears; it was mid-back length and I came in asking for a professional, office-appropriate haircut with a wash, blow-dry, and styling. Unfortunately, the result was not what I asked for. My hair is now uneven, with the front cut up to mid-throat length while the back sits around shoulder length, leaving it looking like an unintentional, poorly blended bob. The cut is difficult to style and doesn't look polished. In addition, the service didn't match what was requested. Instead of a proper blow-dry and style as requested. My hair was simply flat-ironed straight and flat with no real shaping or finishing. I paid about $75 and left feeling very unhappy. I'll now have to go somewhere else to get it fixed, likely cutting it even shorter just to make it look even and presentable. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially after spending years growing out my hair. I wouldn't return based on this visit nor would I suggest this along to anybody that I considered a friend.

The ladies at Maribel, specially Griselda did an awesome job, give me suggestions of how to bring my hair to life.. Now I have a awesome hair, I get compliments ALL the time. Griselda makes sure I get what my hair needs and obviously make me look awesome! They do my haircuts, dye my hair, my highlighting and keratin treatment.. princess treatment! Is just like going to a family members who genuinely care for you and not for your pocket. Also my teen loves to get haircuts, there Nancy and the other ladies make sure he gets what he wants how he wanted, mind you he is picky but the ladies never fail to do anything but an awesome job!! What is love the most is not only the way they treat you, like family but they are honest and don't try to overcharge you or try to sell you products. Also they give you honest advise, what makes you look good, not magical promises.
