I hadn't dyed my hair in 5 years with trims every other year. I had finally decided I wanted change. My hair used go down to my butt. I came in because I was referred by some relatives and had been following the Cutting Team on Instagram. I came in for a haircut and a balayage. I wanted a caramel color so that it would be a subtle change. I had let the stylist know that I had dry hair that easily tangled. I loved that as soon as I got in for my appointment the stylists/owners got straight to work with bleaching and separating my hair. When I had previously gotten my hair dyed it was at home with my sister. I had the pleasure of walking around and doing whatever I wanted. During the bleaching process I started to get fidgety but I didn't say anything discouraging about the process. I was confused about why I had to sit for such a long time with the bleach because I only wanted my hair a couple shades lighter. After the bleaching process, I got my hair washed and toned. The toning process took way less time than the bleach. After my hair was done toning, the stylists proceeded to brush out my hair. I had already told them about the nature of my hair and they still decided to use a metal roller brush instead of a wet brush. Because they brushed my hair with a metal roller brush on wet hair, just brushing my hair took so long and there was a lot of breakage. I'm not tender headed but with the amount of time it took to brush my hair and with the type of brush, my head was sore. They finally finished and we moved on to the haircut. When I had walked in to my appointment, they had asked me what kind of haircut I wanted and after I said "layers" they said "okay." I wanted lots of layers but didn't feel like I could say anything after the "okay." It was almost as if they knew what I wanted. I let it slide which was my fault. Since they already knew what kind of haircut I wanted, the stylist just started cutting. When she was done she said, "there, long layers." I didn't think much of it since you can't really mess up layers. After my haircut, I got my hair blow dried and styled. Overall, it took 5 hours for the whole process and I paid $306 after tip. It wasn't until the next day that I could see all the mistakes made. My layers are pretty much nonexistent and someone said they looked "chunky." My hair was also extremely off compared to the color I wanted and what I got. It was too blonde and looked like 2007 chunky highlights. I called back 2 days later to schedule a correction. The week of the correction appointment Texas had a winter storm with power outages and water issues. I hadn't received any calls from the salon prior to the appointment about rescheduling, mind you it was 3 days after the initial winter storm. I texted the stylist about rescheduling and she said appointments were cancelled until they were back up and running. I was understanding and wished her family well. A couple more days go by and The Cutting Teams Instagram made a post about how they were open for business again and yet I hadn't received a call about rescheduling. A couple more days and still no call, I finally called and scheduled the correction. When I came in for the correction I had let the previous and new stylist know that the bottom portion of my hair seemed lighter than what I wanted. The old stylist skimmed through my hair and gave the new stylist instructions. The new stylist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She sectioned my hair so that the back of my head was the only thing that was being re-toned. After the toning I got my hair dried and thought everything looked good. When I got home I realized that now the front portion of my head was a completely different color than what was perfectly re-toned. I'm am absolutely disappointed with the customer service. I had extremely high hopes for this place because of the referrals, reviews, and posts. I was let down twice. For my initial appointment I felt as though the owners/stylists were in a rush, inattentive, and cold. I wished the stylists/owners would have noticed that my hair color didn't match what I wanted after the initial balayage session. Had they told me I needed to come back to tone down my hair I would have been perfectly fine. For the correction appointment, one of the owners/previous stylist only skimmed through my hair instead of actually double checking their work and noticing mistakes. Everything seemed so rushed. Everything is good until it isnt. I got my balayage here on May 19th. I paid $315. I was very happy with the color. On June 29th I had a root touch up and paid $112. This service was also good. My hair grows out white so I needed another root touch up and had it done by another stylist here on August 24th and paid another $110. First of all by this 3rd trip within 3 months I have already paid out over $500. This does not include my sons and grandsons hair cuts. After I left I saw my balayage was gone. The stylist did my roots really far down and I have very little blonde left. I reached out to them to get them to meet me half way and they refused. They said they did what I asked and I definitely did not ask for them to ruin my balayage. This time in age the customer is not always right but in this case they blamed me. Instead of meeting me half way and correcting it they wanted me to pay for another balayage service. WOW!Please do not use them they do not stand behind their services. read more

I've gone to other hair salons that left me with unwanted hair color and they went above and beyond to fix it. They never fail. I wish I could remember the name of the girl who cut and colored my hair, she was awesome! I was one of those difficult clients for sure... I showed 11 opposing photos and wanted my cut sorta one way but not too this way.... I could hear myself getting confusing and picky and had to apologize for it. But you know what? She cut it EXACTLY how I pictured in my head! That's nothing short of miraculous y'all, cuz I definitely wasn't explaining it right. I'm always extremely cautious about where I get my hair done because, let's be honest, no one wants to pay money to get their hair messed up! After searching through Yelp and looking at their pictures, I decided to make an appointment. They are amazing about responding very quickly! I was in the salon only like a day later! I showed them a few pictures but they were extremely receptive to what I wanted for my hair. The ladies are AMAZING! At one point I had all three of them working on my hair, super relaxing and gets the job done quicker! The end result? PERFECTION. I have gone to other salons, paid more, and no where near loved my hair as much as I did here! I cannot recommend them enough!!! I'm so glad I found them! 10/10 read more

TEN STARS, that's what these ladies truly deserve! I am so happy I found this salon! Jessica and Roxy tag teamed my highlights (Jessica did majority) , and it turned out sooooo beautiful!! Normally my hair pulls brassy or yellow, but they got me to the white blonde I've always wanted. I literally left shocked. This did take longer than I'm used to when I get highlights BUT it's very clear why! They know what they're doing and they love it. I recently moved to the area and needed a haircut pretty bad. I called this place on a whim to see if they could get me in over the weekend and they said they had an immediate opening (which was even better), so I stopped in on my way home from work. Sophia gave me a great wash and cut and was just sweet all around. I knew i was her last client of the day and they were closing soon, but she never acted like she was in any rush. But maybe the best part was the price! I moved to Spring from the Montrose area of Houston and every place i had ever been in that area was so expensive. Those places always charged me an additional charge for having long hair which was irritating, especially since i was only ever getting a trim. My daughter got her hair done here, and left this place crying. Owner was so rude and did her hair black when she had asked for brown. She left dye all over her face without wiping it off and when I asked to get it off she scrubbed her face so hard her face was left so red and burning from how hard she scrubbed it. She was so rough on her hair and it looked so unhealthy and left the crappiest looking "highlights" which looked like little grey streaks in her dark black hair. My daughter hates black hair and was crying, I asked the lady if she could redo her hair and she said she was leaving and to come back another day which is ridiculous. She was charged so much for something she did not like whatsoever and when we did come back she bleached my daughters entire head and it looked so unhealthy, it hasn't been the same.
