On every visit to Charlotte, I stop here 2-3 times, whether it's to meet up with friends and colleagues for lunch, to grab a quite bite before evening plans, to spend happy hours and dinners on that delightful back patio or to pick up that insane vegan dessert I've been craving. I mean, can it get any better than a spread of vegan elote corn, nachos smothered with beans, seitan, guac/queso/crema or my new favorite, the crunch wrap with a glass of something icy cold (I usually get a glass of something sparkling at the back bar). Since my last review almost 5 years ago, they sadly removed the matcha cruffin (that I still can't get out of my head!) and added in an entire display of sugary/spicy/chocolatey greatness (I'm still kicking myself for being too late on my way to the airport to get that lemon bar I'd been eying or the pumpkin BUNDT CAKE, ffs. What is wrong with me?) The sweetest owners, the loveliest staff from front counter to back bar to food runners and bussers. I adore Oh My Soul with every ounce of my being.

The flavor and texture were both on point, and there was none of that weird sweetness I've come to expect from jackfruit. My life of sides-only cookouts is officially over. You could literally smell how good the food was through the takeout container before I even opened it! Ordering was easy at the kiosk, the wait was not long at all, and they called my name as soon as my order was ready. The portions were very generous, and everything tasted like real soul food -- just completely plant-based. I've already told my family about this place because it was THAT good. I love supporting a Black-owned business, and Taste of Soul truly deserves the support. I will absolutely be back. 10/10!

I first met her as a waitress, and now she's a manager. Every time I visit, she greets me with genuine excitement, and you can tell how much she loves what she does. She's incredibly attentive to the little details, makes sure customers are taken care of if they're ever dissatisfied with a plate, and always has a smile on her face. The rest of the staff is just as friendly. Hanson served me during my last visit when I brought a friend who was visiting Charlotte for the first time, and he made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. He kept up great conversation and even had wonderful things to say about Daniela, which says a lot about the team and environment she's helped create. 11/10 every time. What never seems to change is that securing seating can be a challenge because all spots are "prime" real estate and the abundance of choices is an indecisive person's nightmare. Nonetheless, to all the foodies at heart those are just minor details for mere mortals... lol. We managed to grab a larger enough table and everyone circled until we made our individual choices and then returned to our central meeting spot to break bread and indulge in all of our finds. We enjoyed several of the eateries we experienced and I was particularly intrigued by the plant store (albeit kinda pricey). Returning is a no brainer especially for the places that were most memorable. Just A Note: Parking is not free, payment is required. Please note depending on the time of day it can be crowded so securing a spot will require patience.
