Two pastor tacos and one asada.
    Angie G.

After getting inedible barbecue from Rock Store, I was fortunate enough to see this food truck roll up to the bar I was at. I got an asada and a pastor taco. These are traditional Mexico tacos that you can eat in a bite or two. They were pretty good, and you really can't beat the price ($2 each). The service was fast, and the food truck looked thankfully clean (sometimes they're not the best...). I was also pleased to see that they accepted credit cards. Obviously, with a food truck, you're not getting tons of ambiance, but this made for a decent lunch while throwing back a few beers at our local.

Found these guys over at Camp North End this past Friday night. My party ordered steak tacos, carnitas tacos, al pastor tacos , chorizo tacos, and a gordita with asada. These were pretty authentic tacos on corn tortillas with just some onion, cilantro and a sprinkle of cheese. They were served with a lime wedge and pickled vegetables. Very good, very solid tacos. The customer service was top notch and all that food, which was enough for 3 people, was only $28! As some one who tries to eat paleo, even though the tacos did have some cheese, this food truck was a great option. You don't feel like you have to miss out on the food truck foods and everything settled really well. They had other options such as burritos and quesadillas but we didn't sample those. Would definitely recommend trying them if you see them around.

I love this taco truck. I'm a California native and it's been so hard to find authentic Mexican food since moving to the Charlotte area. Chilaka Taco Lab is my favorite yet. The service is fast and friendly, at $2 a taco the pricing is reasonable, and the sanitation rating is 96.5 as of today! But the food... flavorful, delicious, mouthwatering. The hot sauce will knock your socks off. Now that I know where they park we will be sure to be back. I should add - the address on Yelp is incorrect. They're parked at 11223 Blair Road in Mint Hill, M-F, 9-3. You can also find them at local events and breweries on the weekends. They aren't great at social media, but be patient - it's so worth it!

Seeing this truck made me immediately want legit street tacos so I went with the fish tacos. This was my first time with this particular food truck and I was not disappointed. It took a bit of time but was well worth it and was piping hot. Extremely fresh tasting. The green sauce was delicious and really had a kick. The real heat came when I chomped into the pepper that came with it. It wasn't long before I had hot happy tears.

Chilaka Tacolab came to a music festival I ran. They showed up two hours early and were able to serve the bands before guests started arriving. The food was amazing and affordable. Everyone I spoke to at the event raved about it as well. Highly recommend for any event.

On the Tacos , shrimp , Coca-Cola carnitas , arrachera all very tasty. Next round of tacos Birria , carnitas , arrachera , so good nice flavor to the meats. Cute place inside not very big, fun decor , good music playing. service was great our waitress was very nice & attentive, prices are reasonable. I went inside to get a manager to let them know that we hadn't been greeted. Another server came saying we weren't in his section but he'd take us. The manager brought us out some queso and chips as an I'm sorry. I specifically asked the server, Ohran, what tacos were included in the 2.50 street tacos listed on their board as their Tuesday special and was told all of them. I then asked him again "so all the tacos are considered street tacos" and he said yes. So, imagine my surprise when we received the receipts and were charged full price. The manager came over and basically said there was nothing that he was able to do because there were no specials being ran on cinco de mayo & his employee said that he did not say that. Of course he's gonna say that. He doesn't wanna take the fall. I worked at Maggiano's and Red Lobster for about 10 years total so I know how the serving life is but the fact that I had to go flag down someone to get service, we asked twice for waters and didn't receive them until the third ask, we didn't get napkins until after our food was out and we had to ASK for them and then we get told the wrong price???? Yeah I'll never be back and that sucks because the tacos were so good thanks to the Honduran chef who smokes a lot of weed (that's what our server told us. Very professional of him right?????).

I ordered two tacos, one chicken, one steak. I feel like all street tacos should come wrapped in foil for the 'experience' but then I'd imagine the restaurant would have to charge the true price of $2.50-$3 a taco, what I feel they're worth. I do think the price was a bit much considering what I ordered but it wasn't terrible. I would appreciate fresh house made corn tortillas vs hard store bought ones but it's charlotte after all. And what's with the one tortilla? True Cali tacos come with two tortillas. The chicken taco was greasy and the loose guacamole wasn't able to absorb into the hard tortilla. It was messy! However, I'd order the steak taco again. I loved the pickled onions on the side, they were a nice addition to the steak. Not really a southern Cali thing but a nice twist I enjoyed. Overall, I'd try them again on payday .

My friend and I both went with the margarita cocktail with a sugar rim and it did not disappoint. For food, I ordered the beef empanadas (three count) and they were juicy and satisfying. The dipping sauce was simple but it worked. My friend got the pollo ranchero and loved it -- we both left with leftovers, which says a lot. Oh, and the bathrooms were clean with multiple stalls. Always a win. Solid spot for a post-event wind down. Would definitely return.

I ordered the carne asada and was genuinely excited, but it was a letdown from the start. They never asked how I wanted the steak cooked, which is a huge mistake. Then they covered the steak in cheese--why? That completely overpowered everything. I couldn't even taste the chimichurri. A suggestion: grill the steak properly and serve it simply. If you need cast iron, use a skillet--not a cast iron bowl. Don't drown it in cheese, and please don't cut my steak for me. I'm a grown adult and can handle that myself. On the positive side, the service was on point--our waitress was amazing. The inside was clean and had a kind‑of Mexican vibe going on.

We got two Burrito Fresas (one grilled chicken and one chicken tinga). The burritos had the COOLEST crunchy cheese coating on the tortilla that the hugs all of the ingredients inside the burrito. Both the grilled chicken and the chicken tinga were phenomenal. We truly could not decide who the "winner" was because they were both so flavorful. Now, to talk about the other fun part!!! SORBET MARGARITAS! I'm obsessed. I had initially seen Que Fresca on social media, specifically for the soft serve margs. And let me tell you - they did nit disappoint. They have two flavors - strawberry and lemon (and then you can do a swirl). They were SO refreshing and delightful!! It was such a fun way to ~eat~ a margarita! All of the staff were friendly and very quick. The restaurant is well laid out and I love that it had TVs to watch all the games. The bathrooms are fun too - as the mirrors have color changing lights! I cannot wait to come back and try more!

The idea is that place your order, pick a seat and your order is delivered to you. We picked our seats at the bar first because it was pretty packed for Friday night. We took our time to browse the menu but we knew we'd be getting the IG viral Sorbet flights we'd seen. Now on first attempt we got our food, it was completely cold. We informed one of the waiters and asked for our meals to be remade. So upon getting my food second time: 1 Birria Taco, 1 Chips and Queso and 1 Chicken Tinga, it was warm. The Birria taco was my favorite as the chicken didn't hold too much flavor for me. Now we ordered 2 Sorbet flights. We didn't get them as advertised.. no rim coating and the flavor offerings were duplicated. As we compared what we got from other patrons we saw what was missing and the flavor differences. Overall our meal and drinks were underwhelming and we let the staff and manager on hand know. She apologized for not making our Sorbets with rim coating and the food mishap. As guest of NC for the weekend, our host told us we'd gone to the wrong location.
