El Classico Burger
Kathleen A.

I decided to try this place via Uber Eats. Everything was well packaged and arrived warm! I got the El classico burger. I appreciated the char on the burger, it left more of an authentic real meat impression. My gripe was this was a MESSY burger when eating. Everything was sliding everywhere juices running down the arm. I'm happy we were given napkins. But the eating experience wasn't anything to write home about. Though I understand some people like that type of eating experience, not for me. I ordered both the fries and the sweet potato tots. My husband and I devoured the sweet potato tots. Loved them, well seasoned and great texture. The fries were okay, classic crinkle cut. We are open to trying this place again, maybe in person next time.

First time trying Mike Vegan grill. My brother orders from there often. I had a taste for a vegan burger and didn't feel like cooking it so I decided to see what I could have delivered on DoorDash. The food still arrived warmed, and I appreciated the detail in the packaging. I got the classic burger with special sauce and a side of fries. Burger with seasoned OK, I did like the special Sauce. Fries were just basic crinkle cut. I would be open to trying something else on the menu next time or eating at the restaurant Fresh.

Was a little skeptical because Ive never tried a vegan place but was glad I tried it. The people at the register were very helpful and patient as I asked them about different menu items. I decided in the crunch wrap and it was very good. would reccomend.

1/19 We were looking for something vegan last weekend and decided to try Mike's. There were so many items we wanted to try from pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks, milkshakes and more. But we only got to try the fiesta fries and chili cheese fries. We weren't disappointed with either. I really liked the decor vibe and the music selection. We were able to place our order at the counter and it was delivered to our table. There was a good selection on types of sitting areas. The cashier was friendly and gave great suggestions. Our order was ready pretty quickly. The food was very flavorful. I can't wait to go back again and try some of their other options. Whether you're vegan or not I would recommend you to try this place.

Our fav vegan place. We live the milkshakes here and have loved crunch wrap and burgers. This is a place where you want to keep coming back for your cravings. Everything is so delicious and service is amazing. Love it.

I was meeting my friend at another place and I saw the sign for Mike's and we quickly changed our minds. I visited the food truck in Greensboro. I was so excited to "stumble" across this location in another city. I definitely wanted to try their brick and mortar. It is so nice on the inside. It is very vibrant! The music was upbeat. I absolutely love the decor. The staff was very friendly. My friend order the tuna sandwich and I ordered a bratwurst. She said her sandwich was really good. My bratwurst was banging! I'm not vegan, but I would become one if I could eat their food every day. The slaw and peppers were perfect with the sauce. The word to best describe this business is consistent. I've never had a problem with their food. It is delicious and is always presented well. Can't wait to go back.

There were soooooooo many options to choose from! Everything looked so tasty. I went with the chickn sandwich and loaded fries with a mango lemonade. The highlight was definitely the lemonade although everything was tasty. The fries could've had a little more seasoning but they got devoured nonetheless. The service was great. They were very helpful and honest about the options. And the decor is so cute. Great vibe

After our gym workout the hubby and I were hungry. He asked if I wanted to try Mike Vegan Grill. I obliged, so off we went. The restaurant is in a shopping center. There is a walkway you will have to go through before you will see the restaurant on the left side. We entered a semi spacious restaurant, although the entrance is cramped since the register is directly in front of the entrance door. We waited to order our food, but the wait was not that long. My hubby opted for the El Classico burger with seasoned fries, watermelon lemonade and a biscoff cookie milkshake. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak; however, I wanted the gluten-free bun. The restaurant did not have gluten-free buns for the philly cheesesteak so they just made me a burger and put the cheese and veggies on the burger. We received the milkshakes first which I thought was strange. I would have preferred for the milkshakes to come last. Finally, we received our food after a 15 wait. I started on the fries. The fries were not bad. The vegan cheese was pretty tasty. Next, I tried the burger. I took the top bun off because it was too much. I would prefer some of the bread be scooped out. The burger was also good. It tasted like a real beef burger. Finally, I tried the milkshake. It was absolutely delicious. My hubby didn't like the milkshake because he is used to milkshakes made with cows milk, so I drank/ate his too. Customer service was excellent. We were checked on multiple times, and all of the staff were friendly. Although pretty pricey for what you get (we paid $71 plus tip), I would definitely recommend Mike Vegan Grill to those looking for a decent vegan restaurant. Be warned, you are going to pay a lot to eat this food. My Ratings: Philly Cheesesteak burger (on gluten-free bun) - 4/5 Vegan Cheese fries - 3.5/5 Biscoff Vegan Milkshake- 5/5 Customer Service - 5/5 Hubby's Rating: El Classico Vegan Burger - 5/5 Seasoned Fries - 4/5 Milkshake 2/5 (He said it didn't taste like a milkshake) Customer Service - 5/5 Overall rating between the two of us - 4.2/5 We will definitely go back and try some of the other options.

Upon walking into the Mike's Grill I was greeted with a warm smile and a warm welcome. I was asked if this was my first experience. I ordered the Carolina burger combo with fries and a bottled water. My first bite into the meal was complete with a delicious and savory package that also complements the atmosphere inside the restaurant. I totally enjoyed this meal and I am recommending that you experience it yourself.

You wouldn't know their food is vegan, that Philly cheesesteak was delicious. Service was quick and the food was hot. I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Went to Mike's with my dad for some vegan food... he said that if he could eat here everyday he would be vegan. If that isn't a great review I don't know what is. We got the Carolina Burger and Philly Cheesesteak with fries. Both were flavorful, hearty, and delicious. I also got a strawberry lemonade which was fantastic and very refreshing. The vibes were great inside, fun decorations and a chill vibe. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike!!

What a great vegan spot! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the employees were so helpful and kind. I love decor inside! This place is causal. They have many different tables and booths. I also loved the music they played and the shows they had on the TV's. There were so many items on the list that I wanted to try! I decided to try the taco steak salad and it was so delicious! I also got the Oreo milkshake and that was also delicious! Everyone needs to come and try this place!

Just a sweet little update for my favorite restaurant in Charlotte, if not the entire Southern East…read moreCoast. On every visit to Charlotte, I stop here 2-3 times, whether it's to meet up with friends and colleagues for lunch, to grab a quite bite before evening plans, to spend happy hours and dinners on that delightful back patio or to pick up that insane vegan dessert I've been craving. I mean, can it get any better than a spread of vegan elote corn, nachos smothered with beans, seitan, guac/queso/crema or my new favorite, the crunch wrap with a glass of something icy cold (I usually get a glass of something sparkling at the back bar). Since my last review almost 5 years ago, they sadly removed the matcha cruffin (that I still can't get out of my head!) and added in an entire display of sugary/spicy/chocolatey greatness (I'm still kicking myself for being too late on my way to the airport to get that lemon bar I'd been eying or the pumpkin BUNDT CAKE, ffs. What is wrong with me?) The sweetest owners, the loveliest staff from front counter to back bar to food runners and bussers. I adore Oh My Soul with every ounce of my being.

Person taking our order was rude. Asked what he would recommend as a side given that we'd never been to the restaurant before. He just listed off all the sides and appeared annoyed by the question. We finished our order and he then cancels the tip screen and I didn't know why. He asks if I want a receipt and I say sure. Then I notice that they have an automatic "service charge" of 15% that isn't advertised anywhere in the restaurant. I'm not necessarily against restaurants doing this but it should be advertised. Also, you should have service if you're going to charge a "service charge." Our service consisted of a counter order and then someone who eventually brought out our food. Water was never even refilled. Vibe of everyone that worked there was angry and aggravated. Multiple people scowled at me walking through the dining room from the kitchen. One worker threw open the kitchen door obviously pissed about something. Everyone in the restaurant was waiting forever for their food and other tables would have one entree come out while the other person at the table waited another 15 minutes for their food. Food was nothing special. My wife liked her Mother Earth bowl which is why I'm giving two stars. My chicken sandwich was something out of a frozen box. Hush puppies and onion rings were standard. We only had water to drink. All of this cost us $54.20 total. Anymore this feels like a standard experience in an American restaurant unless you do someplace high end. Ok food, terrible value, terrible service, and junk fees. Like they're doing you a favor just being there. All of this for a restaurant that, as the walls show, is trying to convince you to become vegan. This won't do it guys. Do better if you really care about bringing people to your cause.

I looked at the menu previously and knew i wanted to try the ribs. I also ordered the mac and cheese and black eyed peas as sides. The meal comes with rice and their vegetable of the day which happened to be collard greens that day. To finish the meal I ordered the housemade hibiscus tea. It took about 10-15 minutes or so for everything to be ready and it was brought out by one of the lovely owners (forgot to grab her name). She was so sweet and came back out to check on me mid meal. Everything was so good. I haven't had ribs in over a decade so that was such a nostalgic taste to me. It had the chargrill taste and everything and that sauce was so good! The "rib" meat had a great taste as well and I enjoyed the meaty texture. The fixins were all really good. The macaroni was nice and seasoned so were black eyed peas, collard greens, and rice. Truly tasted like a plate from an auntie's house. I'm already plotting my next trip to Charlotte so I can make my way back over here. We spotted a handful of vegan spots in the Charlotte area but I am so glad we went with this one.

As a New Yorker we have our share of markets/food halls and OH fits the familiar script, with a slightly smaller footprint than what I've experienced. Nonetheless, to all the foodies at heart those are just minor details for mere mortals... lol. We managed to grab a larger enough table and everyone circled until we made our individual choices and then returned to our central meeting spot to break bread and indulge in all of our finds. We enjoyed several of the eateries we experienced and I was particularly intrigued by the plant store (albeit kinda pricey). Return is a no brainer especially for the places that were most memorable. I had seen multiple social media ads about Romeo's Vegan Burgers so last night, Saturday around dusk and on my way home, I decided to stop in. There were about 3 diners inside and the only visible attendant was serving a drive-thru customer. The attendant didn't acknowledge me standing at the counter with any distinct greeting. Not expecting any immediate service, I stepped away to go wash my hands at the restroom. Restroom cleanliness sometimes is an indicator and I'd give this one a C minus. Dirty toilet, lukewarm faucet water, odor. Perhaps this made me wary however I decided to try the food. The attendant was unoccupied when I returned to the counter and did apologize for me having to wait earlier at my arrival. I ordered a simple black bean burger, tater tops and a lemonade. I noticed on the menu board that there was an additional fee to "upgrade" to an "all plant patty" that just seems odd at a vegan restaurant. The meal took about 15 minutes or so to prepare. Honestly, at the end of this meal there wasn't a stand-out moment for a vegan burger meal at the price of $21.00. I've prepared the same meal at my home for less. The lemonade is basic and perhaps processed, noticeably not "fresh". I read the other reviews before submitting mine. I suppose time of day, staff on hand and other factors influence the experience. My visit fell short of satisfying my expectations. Best of luck to this restaurateur and happy holidays.
