We are very please of the quality of our food and the servers. Yes a few time I had to write négatif reviews, because I like to tell the true story. Last week we hit the jackpot with the wonderful server we had. It is sad that most the time he works in the evening , and most our outing are at lunch. So, this time he was our lunch server . His name was JOSE, I can say, after all the time we eat at that restaurant he was one of the best servers, he had nice personality, we could see that he liked Is job, hope next time I go back , that he will be working, beside the great tuna lunch we had , he completed our nice outing . Bravo JOSE .

Making an online reservation was effortless, and we were seated promptly, so our visit started off on a positive note. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was underwhelming. Our server was friendly, but the service overall was very slow. It took quite a while for him to check back with us, and he wasn't very familiar with the menu. We had to remind him of the side options that came with our meals, which was surprising. While he was pleasant, the level of service just wasn't what we expected. The food was average and didn't really stand out. We all ordered the three-course special. We started with the tortilla soup and the chili, but both arrived only lukewarm, which was disappointing. For the entrées, my steak was tough, not very tender, and also wasn't served hot. The mashed potatoes were actually the highlight of my plate--they were flavorful and well prepared. The ribs were tender. The salmon entrée was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. The restaurant wasn't busy during our visit, which made the slow service and long wait for our food even more surprising. We also noticed other tables that had been waiting even longer than we had, with meals taking an unusually long time to come out. Overall, this just wasn't the birthday dinner experience we were hoping for. While the staff was courteous, the slow service and average food make it unlikely that we'll return. Hopefully they're able to improve, because the restaurant has potential, but unfortunately this visit missed the mark for us.

Classic American ice cream parlor with creative and amazing flavors for everyone to choose from!!…read more Every time I'm back home in South Florida, I always make it a must to stop by here for a sweet treat. I've had their ice cream sundaes in the past and they're delicious! They even offer ice cream by the scoops (cup or cone), milkshakes/malts, ice cream sodas, and freezes. We stopped by last week after craving a sweet treat on a hot and sunny day. Our son has been into cookies and cream milkshakes lately so we decided to get two milkshakes. What I really like about this place is that they have a take out window for quick and on the go orders. I've dined in a few times in the past which the restaurant is so nostalgic with all the decor. The staff are friendly and efficient. We didn't wait long for our milkshakes. Our son absolutely loved his Oreo cookie milkshake. I have to admit that I've never tried their savory dishes but it definitely gives us a good reason to come back the next time we visit. We will be back!

GREAT FOOD / POOR HOSPITALITY / HIGH PRICES Just got back…read morehome from my first time to Jaxson's.. Heard many good things so I finally had to try it out. Things started out ok with our server Kari G. waited a while for our food to arrive, but when it did, everything was good. Kari stopped by to check in us once, and so did the floor manager, which was great. Things turned BAD when a group of about 25 kids from a Soccer Team showed up, and we were basically forgotten. Had to ask a busser for a to go box, then another server for our check. We sat for about 20 min simply while we watched Kari bring out food and ice cream to the large group. She never returned to our table. When the manager brought our check to the table, I politely told him how I was in the Hospitality Industry as well and was very disappointed with the service they provided. He apologized and thanked me for the feed back and asked if we would like some Ice Cream, and I stated NO that we just wanted to leave. He offered to take the ice cream off the bill if we got some but we again stated we just wanted to leave. He apologized but what he should have done was offered ice cream to go! Yes I did leave Kari G a tip and I will recommend Jaxson's to my hotel guests, but will WARN them of the poor service, and high prices!

We've seen their sign for a couple of years now on Federal heading north between Hollywood and…read moreSheridan. The name never landed with us as it sounded like a standalone food court. It was the sign underneath that read, "Too tired to cook today?" that made us take notice. Looking at the online menu we found that it was not only a who's who of Latin dishes of different nationalities, but they also served bar fare - chicken wings, burgers, quesadillas, etc. Not knowing what their specialty was, we never committed to it. But today was one of those days where we felt like something different and we took a chance. The gamble paid off big. The menu was all over the place, so not knowing what direction to go in, I addressed the waiter who was all too ready to help. He pointed me to some of his faves: the Bandeja Paisa, Lomo Saltado, and Ropa Vieja. I'd had my eye on the Lomo Saltado, a popular Peruvian stir fry dish. The Bandeja Paisa is Colombian, and the Ropa Vieja - Cuban. I asked him what the nationality of the ownership was, when he revealed it was Colombian. I was immediately skeptical of ordering the ropa vieja - being half Cuban, I could not fathom the idea of a Colombian-owned restaurant pulling this off. So Joe took one for the team there. The waiter assured me that everything he has tried has in fact been delectable. But hey, what else is he supposed to say? But no, he assured me these were not marketing words, but words of experience. So I went for the Lomo Saltado which was served with black beans and rice, and french fries. He didn't hesitate to vouch for the black beans... I think he sensed my Colombian skepticism. Joe had replaced his fries for sweet plantains, so I took his cue and substituted my fries for tostones. But, not before warning the waiter that I would be particularly particular about the quality of my favorite plantain dish. He gave me a confident nod - so I played along. Joe's dish came out a few seconds before mine, and being the impatient carnivore that I am, I (let's say borrowed) his ropa vieja before he had a chance to pick up his fork. I was very pleasantly surprised. On par with any old clothes I have tried at any Cuban restaurant... and even better than some, albeit in longer strands than I've experienced. However, extremely juicy, full of flavor and tender. Then came my Lomo. I'm a first-timer, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was fan-tastic. A bit charred outside with a juicy medium innard that cuts like butter, and to my relief, deceivingly tender. The lomo napped on a bed of sautée-charred veggies whose sweetness was a nicely balanced contrast to the savory meat. The black beans were definitely on point and seasoned with Colombian love. And those ten-ton-tostones!!! By far the thickest fried medallions I've had, but with a brutally loud crunch and still a real easy chew. And unlike John Travolta in a black T-Bird jacket, totally Greaseless. Often times, tostones of this variety are tough and as chewable as week-old yellow paper mache. Nope, these are some of the best tostones I've had in a couple of years. But by far the best of their kind. I also borrowed one of Joe's sweet plantations which once again left no trace of greased lightning and were rendered a perfect dark brown with a nice and plush sunshine yellow inside. The portions were more than generous and the price was comfortably modest. I expressed my deepest gratitude to our waiter for his patience and his spot on recommendations. He also swore by their burger which he had just sampled for the first time and which is made partly with Colombian chorizo and served with a side of chimichurri. Chorizo and chimichurri for little cha-ching.... I'm sure I'll be chowing on that real soon. Food Corner is a cornucopia of Latin influences, and so far, it's also a master of two of them. (We were too excited to take photos)

We arrived and let our hostess know, and that we'd be seated momentarily. About a couple minutes later, one waitress told us to follow her to our table. We were beginning to sit down and a high chair was on the way, when another waitress, RUDELY told us that she was sorry, but we needed to WAIT for another table because two gentlemen were already waiting before us (allegedly). Meanwhile, there was another couple of tables already cleaned and ready. We were flabbergasted; here we are with a baby in a high chair and we put our names down and we were being told to leave the table. The waitresses were confused by each other and started to bicker. It was a little awkward and no one knew what the other was doing. Finally, minutes later, we sat down and our order was taken by a lovely waitress. Unfortunately, the food arrived and we were not fully satisfied. The pancakes tasted dry and not the freshest. The million dollar bacon seemed to be more like a $5 bacon, in that it was almost on the cold side. Don't know what happened this time, but we were not happy with our visit.

We also ordered the Korean BBQ pork belly and pineapple pizza, and easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Seriously so good. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

I will say the only thing that is stuff about this place is how crazy it can get and difficult it may be to find a table. But once you have a table you can order everything at the bar and they'll bring it to you. They have seasonal beers as well as year round beers and everything that they make, for the most part is made in their Brewery aside from their guest pours. I recently was here and tried a couple of the October seasonal beers and let me say their pumpkin spice latte beer was out of this world. They also had a marshmallow Style Beer and it had a nice little peanut flavor. It basically tasted like a liquid fluffernutter ! I always get their pizzas for a meal and the last one that I had was the farmer john. Perfect amount of cheese, tomatoes, chicken and a couple other things. It was cooked perfectly and it is the perfect size to eat half and take the rest home! The layout of this place is always nice and I love the feeling of sitting in a brewery and watching a couple games on the Giant screens they have projected onto the walls. The seating is very spacious and there are a couple areas where you may share a table but overall I never feel like I am sitting on top of anyone!

Great brunch by the water with a fun tiki island vibe!…read more We came here for Father's Day to enjoy brunch by the water, and it was such a great experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the host. We were also with someone who uses a wheelchair, and they were very accommodating by seating us on the lower floor, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere has a fun tiki island vibe and, even though it was a hot day, the overall atmosphere was really enjoyable. Now, let's get into the FOOD! We all ordered different dishes, which gave us the perfect excuse to try a little bit of everything. We started with the fried zucchini chips with lemon aioli--so good! The lemon aioli really kicked them up a notch. We also had the banana bread with whipped honey butter, and that butter literally melted in your mouth. Both were fantastic! We also tried the smoked fish dip, which came with fresh vegetables. My husband ordered the oysters. They were a little smaller than the oysters we're used to, but they were still tasty. For our entrees, we all went in different directions. I had the avocado chili salmon, topped with a chili glaze, served with herb rice, grilled broccolini, and sunflower sprouts. This was definitely my favorite dish! Simple, fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also had the Carne Asada Steak & Eggs, Grains & Greens, and a side of shrimp. Everything we tried was really good, and there was something for everyone. Our waitress was excellent--she was attentive, friendly, and always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. She even took a selfie with us, which was such a fun personal touch! The prices are very reasonable, and they also offer a Rise & Shine brunch option with unlimited mimosas, Bloody Marys, or rosé for $28, which is a great deal if you're looking to enjoy some drinks with your brunch. And if you want something a little more adventurous, they have some fun cocktail options, including the Tiki Loaded Caesar with double Tito's vodka, Clamato, candied bacon, an oyster, shrimp, pickle, and a spiced rim. Or you can go for a fresh-pressed espresso martini. Overall, we had a wonderful Father's Day brunch. Great food, reasonable prices, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the Hollywood area! We'll definitely be back!

We ordered the poke nachos, which were delicious as always--the tuna was fresh, and all of the flavors worked really well together. The oysters were also fresh and tasty, and the Real Margarita with Sauza Blue tequila, fresh lime, agave, and a Tajín rim was really good. The scallops weren't really to our liking, but we understand that the kitchen can't get every dish perfect every single time. What really made the experience better was how the manager handled the situation. They were understanding about our concerns and ended up reimbursing us for our dessert, which we really appreciated. The restaurant was a little quiet, and the food took a bit longer than expected, but overall, the good outweighed the negatives. We were grateful that the manager listened to us and helped resolve the issue. Great customer service can really make a difference, and because of how everything was handled, we're moving this experience up to four stars. We would definitely come back and reassess our experience in the future! Thank you, hector as well for being an amazing Bartender/server we were Treated exquisitely.
