Grumpy Gary's was a favorite hangout on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. We spent countless afternoons and evenings hanging out, having drinks and people watching. We had some time to kill before our flight, so we finally stopped to check out the new location. The first thing I noticed was the overall vibe was completely different. The HB location was so open and airy, where this location felt pieced together and disjointed. One thing that remains the same is the incredibly friendly staff! Our bartender even mentioned recognizing us from the former location. I was hoping that they still offered the cheese steak egg rolls, but they do not. So i settled for a couple margaritas. They were well made and much better than the what's offered at the airport bars. I'm glad that Grumpy's is still around and I'm sure I'll stop back again. But I would love to see them back in Hollywood Beach.

I recently visited Grumpy Gary's in Dania Beach. The food itself (fish and chips) was good..However, the service absolutely made the visit worth it. Our waitress was fantastic: friendly, attentive, and on top of everything from start to finish. She really elevated the whole experience and made us feel welcomed and taken care of. If you're looking for a spot with great service and a comfortable atmosphere, Grumpy Gary's is worth a try. With just a bit more consistency in the food, it could easily be a top pick in the area.

Service: very fast and kind service. They got our orders perfect as they should and they were very nice. Food: I got the soup of the day which was a shrimp soup, and I got the fish and chips. The soup was very good and warm. I got that soup with crackers in it and I also got fish and chips which was so delicious I loved it so much. The fish melted in my mouth with a savory flavor with the tartar sauce it was so good. The lemonade was fine and overall the food I really enjoyed. My friend got the dolphin sandwich which was very good with fresh fish. I loved this place I would go back very good.

This is a nice little restaurant on near the boats with happy hour daily and daily food specials! We went on burger night and it was $5 burgers with music bingo to play as well. Can't beat the prices! Bartender/waitress was not the nicest and service was slow due to having to do both the bar and tables but would still recommend checking out.

This place is very cute and nostalgic, the food isn't amazing they have burgers for $5 on Monday eve as well as music bingo byom. A local hang out spot where pretty much everyone knows each other

Boom boom shrimp is delicious! The server was prompt and very attentive. Sign on the door says that gratuity will be added. I'm not a fan of that. Should be up to me.

Used to come here when it was dockers so I'm glad Grumpy Gary's took it over. It's too close and convenient to the airport to not have something. Had the fish and chips but asked for crispy tots instead of fries and that was perfect!!! Grabbed a few drinks and was entertained by the bartender who just got back from a cruise. She mentioned they have live music fairly often and that would make it even better. I'm glad we sat at the bar we heard some grumbling from other wait staff about their tables etc so not sure they were as friendly as the bartender but hey it is Grumpy Gray's right? So maybe that's the vibe?? We will be back again when in town.

Grabbed a quick lunch while in town here. Sits on a Marina overlooking the slips. Our server was friendly and the food came out fast. The Mahi Sandwich was very good. The Tots weren't bad (just tasted like oil needed to be changed)

First time I've been in since it became Grumpy Gary's, pretty solid. We stopped in after some good golf last Sunday. It wasn't busy, we had the bar to ourselves around 1pm. There were a few groups outside, we may have to trice that spot next time. It was nice to sit down at a bar I had visited many times in the last, but it had been years. They had cleaned up the place plenty. The pool room was now a dining room. The beat up walls and floors were all sharp looking. And that aroma the place had was long gone. It was just nice all around. I hadn't planned to eat but the gal working dropped off menus and explained some of the popular dishes and specials. Although Seafood would have been the right call for their menu I went a Philly Steak. After a drink I headed home with my lunch. It was excellent. It was definitely above average and the fries that came with it were darn good too We will be back soon, and maybe grab a spot outside next time.

We got into Ft Lauderdale pretty late and hadn't eaten. We were staying close to Grumpy Gary's so we walked over to grab some food. It took a while before we were greeted and seated. We sat right on the water which was nice (even though it was dark out). It was a Friday night and they had awesome LIVE music. The food was meh. Smallest fish taco I have ever seen. Flavor was good but more than a fish nugget would have been nice. The clam chowder had a weird taste to it. Poke was pretty good. Drinks were strong.

    Crab cakes!

The chef, Daniel, was amazing! He was met with three of us Marylanders who were skeptical of the Maryland crab cakes. So, he brought us a sample. We gave him our feedback and he brought us another sample - amazing!! He did such a great job of listening to us and made an amazing crabcake! And our bartender, Suzanne, was so friendly too! Worth the trip.

We are very please of the quality of our food and the servers. Yes a few time I had to write négatif reviews, because I like to tell the true story. Last week we hit the jackpot with the wonderful server we had. It is sad that most the time he works in the evening , and most our outing are at lunch. So, this time he was our lunch server . His name was JOSE, I can say, after all the time we eat at that restaurant he was one of the best servers, he had nice personality, we could see that he liked Is job, hope next time I go back , that he will be working, beside the great tuna lunch we had , he completed our nice outing . Bravo JOSE .

Making an online reservation was effortless, and we were seated promptly, so our visit started off on a positive note. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was underwhelming. Our server was friendly, but the service overall was very slow. It took quite a while for him to check back with us, and he wasn't very familiar with the menu. We had to remind him of the side options that came with our meals, which was surprising. While he was pleasant, the level of service just wasn't what we expected. The food was average and didn't really stand out. We all ordered the three-course special. We started with the tortilla soup and the chili, but both arrived only lukewarm, which was disappointing. For the entrées, my steak was tough, not very tender, and also wasn't served hot. The mashed potatoes were actually the highlight of my plate--they were flavorful and well prepared. The ribs were tender. The salmon entrée was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. The restaurant wasn't busy during our visit, which made the slow service and long wait for our food even more surprising. We also noticed other tables that had been waiting even longer than we had, with meals taking an unusually long time to come out. Overall, this just wasn't the birthday dinner experience we were hoping for. While the staff was courteous, the slow service and average food make it unlikely that we'll return. Hopefully they're able to improve, because the restaurant has potential, but unfortunately this visit missed the mark for us.

We stopped by last week after craving a sweet treat on a hot and sunny day. Our son has been into cookies and cream milkshakes lately so we decided to get two milkshakes. What I really like about this place is that they have a take out window for quick and on the go orders. I've dined in a few times in the past which the restaurant is so nostalgic with all the decor. The staff are friendly and efficient. We didn't wait long for our milkshakes. Our son absolutely loved his Oreo cookie milkshake. Things started out ok with our server Kari G. waited a while for our food to arrive, but when it did, everything was good. Kari stopped by to check in us once, and so did the floor manager, which was great. Things turned BAD when a group of about 25 kids from a Soccer Team showed up, and we were basically forgotten. Had to ask a busser for a to go box, then another server for our check. We sat for about 20 min simply while we watched Kari bring out food and ice cream to the large group. She never returned to our table. When the manager brought our check to the table, I politely told him how I was in the Hospitality Industry as well and was very disappointed with the service they provided. He apologized and thanked me for the feed back and asked if we would like some Ice Cream, and I stated NO that we just wanted to leave. He offered to take the ice cream off the bill if we got some but we again stated we just wanted to leave. He apologized but what he should have done was offered ice cream to go! Yes I did leave Kari G a tip and I will recommend Jaxson's to my hotel guests, but will WARN them of the poor service, and high prices!

It was the sign underneath that read, "Too tired to cook today?" that made us take notice. Looking at the online menu we found that it was not only a who's who of Latin dishes of different nationalities, but they also served bar fare - chicken wings, burgers, quesadillas, etc. Not knowing what their specialty was, we never committed to it. But today was one of those days where we felt like something different and we took a chance. The gamble paid off big. The menu was all over the place, so not knowing what direction to go in, I addressed the waiter who was all too ready to help. He pointed me to some of his faves: the Bandeja Paisa, Lomo Saltado, and Ropa Vieja. I'd had my eye on the Lomo Saltado, a popular Peruvian stir fry dish. The Bandeja Paisa is Colombian, and the Ropa Vieja - Cuban. I asked him what the nationality of the ownership was, when he revealed it was Colombian. I was immediately skeptical of ordering the ropa vieja - being half Cuban, I could not fathom the idea of a Colombian-owned restaurant pulling this off. So Joe took one for the team there. The waiter assured me that everything he has tried has in fact been delectable. But hey, what else is he supposed to say? But no, he assured me these were not marketing words, but words of experience. So I went for the Lomo Saltado which was served with black beans and rice, and french fries. He didn't hesitate to vouch for the black beans... I think he sensed my Colombian skepticism. Joe had replaced his fries for sweet plantains, so I took his cue and substituted my fries for tostones. But, not before warning the waiter that I would be particularly particular about the quality of my favorite plantain dish. He gave me a confident nod - so I played along. Joe's dish came out a few seconds before mine, and being the impatient carnivore that I am, I (let's say borrowed) his ropa vieja before he had a chance to pick up his fork. I was very pleasantly surprised. On par with any old clothes I have tried at any Cuban restaurant... and even better than some, albeit in longer strands than I've experienced. However, extremely juicy, full of flavor and tender. Then came my Lomo. I'm a first-timer, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was fan-tastic. A bit charred outside with a juicy medium innard that cuts like butter, and to my relief, deceivingly tender. The lomo napped on a bed of sautée-charred veggies whose sweetness was a nicely balanced contrast to the savory meat. The black beans were definitely on point and seasoned with Colombian love. And those ten-ton-tostones!!! By far the thickest fried medallions I've had, but with a brutally loud crunch and still a real easy chew. And unlike John Travolta in a black T-Bird jacket, totally Greaseless. Often times, tostones of this variety are tough and as chewable as week-old yellow paper mache. Nope, these are some of the best tostones I've had in a couple of years. But by far the best of their kind. I also borrowed one of Joe's sweet plantations which once again left no trace of greased lightning and were rendered a perfect dark brown with a nice and plush sunshine yellow inside. The portions were more than generous and the price was comfortably modest. I expressed my deepest gratitude to our waiter for his patience and his spot on recommendations. He also swore by their burger which he had just sampled for the first time and which is made partly with Colombian chorizo and served with a side of chimichurri. Chorizo and chimichurri for little cha-ching.... I'm sure I'll be chowing on that real soon. Food Corner is a cornucopia of Latin influences, and so far, it's also a master of two of them. (We were too excited to take photos)

We were flabbergasted; here we are with a baby in a high chair and we put our names down and we were being told to leave the table. The waitresses were confused by each other and started to bicker. They have seasonal beers as well as year round beers and everything that they make, for the most part is made in their Brewery aside from their guest pours. They also had a marshmallow Style Beer and it had a nice little peanut flavor. It basically tasted like a liquid fluffernutter ! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the host. We were also with someone who uses a wheelchair, and they were very accommodating by seating us on the lower floor, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere has a fun tiki island vibe and, even though it was a hot day, the overall atmosphere was really enjoyable. Now, let's get into the FOOD! We all ordered different dishes, which gave us the perfect excuse to try a little bit of everything. We started with the fried zucchini chips with lemon aioli--so good! The lemon aioli really kicked them up a notch. We also had the banana bread with whipped honey butter, and that butter literally melted in your mouth. Both were fantastic! We also tried the smoked fish dip, which came with fresh vegetables. My husband ordered the oysters. They were a little smaller than the oysters we're used to, but they were still tasty. For our entrees, we all went in different directions. I had the avocado chili salmon, topped with a chili glaze, served with herb rice, grilled broccolini, and sunflower sprouts. This was definitely my favorite dish! Simple, fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also had the Carne Asada Steak & Eggs, Grains & Greens, and a side of shrimp. Everything we tried was really good, and there was something for everyone. Our waitress was excellent--she was attentive, friendly, and always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. She even took a selfie with us, which was such a fun personal touch! The prices are very reasonable, and they also offer a Rise & Shine brunch option with unlimited mimosas, Bloody Marys, or rosé for $28, which is a great deal if you're looking to enjoy some drinks with your brunch. And if you want something a little more adventurous, they have some fun cocktail options, including the Tiki Loaded Caesar with double Tito's vodka, Clamato, candied bacon, an oyster, shrimp, pickle, and a spiced rim. Or you can go for a fresh-pressed espresso martini. Overall, we had a wonderful Father's Day brunch. Great food, reasonable prices, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the Hollywood area! We'll definitely be back!

We ordered the poke nachos, which were delicious as always--the tuna was fresh, and all of the flavors worked really well together. The oysters were also fresh and tasty, and the Real Margarita with Sauza Blue tequila, fresh lime, agave, and a Tajín rim was really good. The scallops weren't really to our liking, but we understand that the kitchen can't get every dish perfect every single time. What really made the experience better was how the manager handled the situation. They were understanding about our concerns and ended up reimbursing us for our dessert, which we really appreciated. The restaurant was a little quiet, and the food took a bit longer than expected, but overall, the good outweighed the negatives. We were grateful that the manager listened to us and helped resolve the issue. Great customer service can really make a difference, and because of how everything was handled, we're moving this experience up to four stars. We would definitely come back and reassess our experience in the future! Thank you, hector as well for being an amazing Bartender/server we were Treated exquisitely. He had the best service and we loved it.

The pan seared scallops entree was divine - buttery soft with a crispy coating, and scrumptious with a squeeze of lemon. We chose sides of baked potato and pasta salad. My husband ordered the fish and chips - easily one of the top 3 best fish and chips we've ever eaten in the world. The fish was light and perfectly crispy, served with homemade tartar sauce and malt vinegar. The fries were hot and crispy too. We also enjoyed with a side of Cole slaw. Service was great. Food prices are a bit high, but the food quality and flavor is fantastic

We have been seeing The Fish Grill in Dania Beach for years and have been wanting to stop in for…read moredinner for quite a while. We went in around 7 pm on a weekend night out of season and were seated right away in a booth next to a window and were warmly welcomed by restaurant staff. It can get busier later in the evening and the staff said during season the wait for a table can get long mainly from increased amounts of tourists coming in. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (all ranging between $25 and $30). We ordered a side salad to start (around $3 with purchase of entree). We both ordered the Encrusted Swordfish (around $30). All food was very fresh and flavorful and fish was truly amazing! Service was also warm and welcoming and we look forward to returning!
