Pictures show the after. I forgot to photograph the before, but it was pretty bad. Mark did a fabulous job and turned a moldy bathroom into one that is now perfect! My shower was in pretty bad shape when I moved into my condo, with a lot of missing or mildewed grout and several loose tiles on the window sill. I reached out to several companies and got wildly different quotes and recommendations from each -- I was so confused! I ended up going with Grout Masters because their recommendation seemed reasonable (regrouting, resetting the window tiles, cleaning the floor and recaulking around my sinks) and their price was on the lower end. Also, Mark really seemed to know what he was doing and I felt very confident that his recommendations were solid. I didn't get the impression he was trying to upsell me on services I didn't need. It was very easy to schedule over the phone with Lisa, and Mark arrived right on time and did a fantastic job. He had warned me the window tiles might break when he removed them to re-seal everything, and most other companies told me I would need to find a replacement, which was tough because they don't seem to be a standard size. Mark was able to just glue (grout?) the one that broke back together along the crack, and it's barely noticeable! The new grout and caulk matches perfectly, and while my bathroom started out being my least favorite room in the condo, I now absolutely love it. I had reached out to a few tile/grout companies on Yelp about 6 months back. I sent pictures of my project, which was regrouting my 10x10 (roughly) kitchen and one company responded that I needed to retile my entire kitchen and that they wouldn't even touch my re-grout project. I got that project quoted and it was just way too expensive at the time and I really didn't think anything was wrong with the tile, the grout was just nasty and old and needed to be re-done. I reached out to Grout Masters and Lisa, the owner, was prompt in her response and even at first suggested possibly a cleaning instead of regrouting. Once I sent pictures in, she confirmed that we did need to have the kitchen regrouted. Her price was fair and she confirmed it would not change. She was able to get me in the books quickly and sent Mark out to do the work. Now, Mark... he is great! He did this all by hand... well, with tools-- but none were motorized. He was quick... he started at 8am and was done by 11:30am, and that was to remove the old grout and lay down new grout. He did check for loose tiling but said it was in good condition! He came back the beginning of the following week to seal it. Mark left us additional grout and an example of the tool he used. He said it is dull... so be sure to get a new one at Home Depot. I thought that was really cool! I'm very pleased with the work, the process and to have a normal kitchen floor again. I would recommend Grout Masters to anyone who needed a Grout Project. My only suggestion to the company would be to bring on a person that can retile. I have a big tiling project in my bathroom that I'd love a quote on, but they don't tile! We needed to someone to redo the caulking in our master bathroom and guest bathroom. I requested a quote just three days ago, and Lisa, the owner got back to me the same day with a very awesome price! She said it would only cost $85 for each bathroom, with labor! I've had nothing but outstanding experiences with Grout Masters on two different occasions. In fall of 2009 they came out and re-grouted on of our two shower stalls that had been sadly neglected for ages. Mark worked on it for over 2.5 hours and was a perfectionist about his work. I worried that this would run into extra charges, but the bill was exactly what the estimate was -- very reasonable. Last week, we had a second shower with similar issues, and Mark came out again. This time, he spent 5 hours repairing tiles in this shower and also taking care of some loose tiles in the bathroom in general. Again, the bill was extremely reasonable. Also kudos to Lisa, the owner, who follows up to check our satisfaction and also is great for cleaning and maintenance tips on minimizing grout issues in the future. Lisa is very communicative and she made several visits to check the work. Mark did extra (for a fee) work that we asked him to do while the grout on the main job was drying. Jeff and his crew removed the old floor tiles, fixed the underpayment, and retailed the floor. Very nice and competent crew. However they missed a six inch section and Lisa immediately sent Mark to fill it in. Lisa then made another trip to inspect the finished job. The work they did appears solid, though I thought them overpriced ($300 for 2 hours of work, with white caulk and filler their only consumables used). The bigger issue is that that they want cash or a check upon completion of the job. I sent a e-check immediately but it took a week to show up. I had additional work I wanted to be done but was not willing to pay cash so I canceled the additional project and will look to find someone else. Overall we are happy with the final result of having our foyer and shower re-grouted. Mark did a great job and they both look brand new. Unfortunately there are a couple of negatives. After being there all day, he was anxious to leave and could have done a better job of clean up, but that was minor. What left a bad taste in our mouth was that he miscalculated the amount of work and hit us up for an extra $200. That may be the difference in choosing a different service.
