This recruiting agency is horrible. Let me state my facts first as to why I am saying this. First the agency is running a "mean girls" operation in which the agents are rude and disrespectful to the EA's that they send over for work. I called over to ask a question about my pay a girl picked up the phone and was mocking me and my question. When I asked her what her managers name was and if I could talk to her to complain about her attitude and rudeness over the phone she lied and said that she was out of town. When I talked to my recruiter, named Meg M., to complain about the disrespectful receptionist, she did nothing and even sided with the receptionist. That was when I thought to myself, "wow this agency is really something else."
So let me tell you why I am giving them 1 star (if there was a 0 rating I would choose that instead). My recruiters name was Meg M. and at first she was nice, after a few months she found me a job working as a temp at company called Validant. Not doing any research on her own prior to sending me over, nor being specific about the culture, when I went for the interview I thought it would be okay to take the job since the pay rate was high and it was a small office.
When I first started there (one week in) to cover someone on maternity leave, a man that works in the accounting department tells me in a meeting with other employees that he is not going to help me, so don't ask him any questions because he doesn't want to hear it. I'm thinking in my head, "okay, you are not in my department so unless it's a question about accounting I might ask but now I know not to even bother with you". Anyways, I did not complain about it because I just let it roll off my back. As time went on, this particular man was harassing people left and right, and no one was speaking up about it. He had kicked an employee who was pregnant while she bent over, not once but twice, then he took a picture of that was not in her best light (that was in the newsletter) cut it out and plastered it all over his computer and called everyone to his desk so they can see it and laugh at her. I thought it was rude, mean and disrespectful, but others on the accounting team found it funny. One day I was scratching my back with a back scratcher and he asks me why I didn't put it in my mouth. I was in shock, and asked him, "why would I do that?" one of the employees called him a pervert and told me to complain to the HR department about him but I thought if I did I would get fired. I felt like they were all friends and protecting each other since they have been working together for years. I pretty much kept my distance from his person, and it bothered him that I did that, so every instance he could, he would find something to complain to the People Operations/CFO about me and find something to snitch about. I briefly told the agency, specifically Meg M., about the behaviors and they brushed it off their shoulders like it was nothing. I decided to stay longer to see if it would get better but instead it got worse.
Since I can't write a lot on here, I will tell you this, I told Meg M. toward the end of this job (which I quit because I was being bullied, and harassed, I was told by other employees that it was because I was pretty and they were jealous of me, and that the guy that was picking on me was mad because I was not paying any attention to him or playing his little games) that I was being harassed, and bullied by these people (mind you I was in tears while I was talking to her) and Meg was very cold hearted and non-empathetic. The CFO tried to make me look like a scavenger by lying and saying that I was asking for things from the company (for a bottle that was going to be thrown in the garbage, and some education classes I was told to ask about). Several of the employees told me that the CFO and the harasser have a pattern of pushing people out who they don't like by teaming up together and making their lives hell.
Meg M. and the company only care about the commission for themselves and will not protect you as an employee. I told her about the behavior going on in the office and she turned it around and made it look like it was my fault that they were harassing and bullying me, even saying "you know what you did," I asked her why she didn't ask my side of the story first and she said there is nothing she could do. I told her that all she cares about is her commission and keeping them as a client despite the horrible culture at that place, she denied that, but I know it is true because when I quit they sent another candidate over there to take my place, even after I told her about the harassment and bullying. How do I know this you may ask? Because one of the employees texted me and told me that the new temp said that she was from Groupe Insearch. Many of the women there were very upset that I quit but I was not going to allow myself to be in a very toxic environment much less deal with people on power trips. read more
