After graduating back in my May, I was not one of those post-collegiate megalomaniacs who believe they are entitled to X amount of money and Y amount of respect. I did, however, feel I at least deserved a job after spending tens of thousands of dollars on my higher education. June turned into July, July led to August, and before I knew it I had been scouring this barren earth for five months.
All the while, I was approaching my job search with a newly cultivated independence and autonomy, which is to say I was going it alone. This misguided, unaided approach was clearly getting me nowhere. I decided to take a chance on a job placement agency, despite my unfounded misperceptions regarding recruiters in general. Rather than hoping on board as another number with a huge national agency, I went with a smaller boutique; my choice was Clarity.
My initial interview was a delight, as they were very cordial, amiable, and respectful. They left me feeling profoundly reassured and confident; I truly believed they were going to champion my cause. Sure enough, within weeks they landed me a 3 month temp assignment with a global, prestigious accounting corporation. After my assignment commenced, rather than heading back to the terrifyingly dire job market, another phenomenal job was awaiting me with the potential of being hired full-time. I am literally "yelping" from the desk of my new occupation.
Without a doubt I recommend Clarity for all those beginning to lose hope. My advice would be to stop using the stock market as an emotional barometer for how you should feel for the day, and go get a little assistance from some quality folks whose job is to job search effectively. read more
