The couch here is comfortable but sadly, you can tell that they've been very worn down since there is big spots that sink you right in. Lovely decor nontheless and there's a pretty good aesthetic going on. Prices are pretty reasonable!!! Parking lot across from this spot. Also the ladies here kind of belted out their laughters very loudly even though they are in the corner and it can be disruptive, but it's alright. It just happened very often, even when they climbed upstairs, so it kind of changed the ambiance but nothing too bad. As of now I would probably not want to come back here again, but I would possibly be open to joining a friend here to chill.

The first time I tried this place, my friend and I ordered a tostada bowl topped with black beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and maybe feta cheese. We loved it! Returned for brunch and ordered the same dish on a few separate occasions, with some awesome beverages,,still delicious. A new favorite dish..yaay!, We tried something else similar, but it wasn't as good. Also on our first visit, we had been offered samples of the most delicious desserts that we were told would be added to the menu, they were a (piece of pie in a cup) concept. They were the best desserts ever!! Fresh, delicious, fruits, cream fillings, different varieties of cake breads and crusts, and not too sweet at all. My friend and I were telling everyone about these new desserts Groundwork was going to offer on the menu, but when we returned, were told they will not be carrying them after all, Bummer!!! Went for my last coffee today at Groundwork. The police shot a homeless man at this very location. The homeless take a very aggressive stance targeting customer at Groundwork. The employees seem to be overly tolerant of this kind of behavior and the attitude reflects this. Was not the first time I have encountered this attitude. Needless to say, I don't feel safe and I won't return to this location in the near future. Groundwork management you need to get a professional security person at this location so your customers feel safe and not leave customer safety in the hands of your untrained staff, who have no clue as how to deal with aggressive homeless people. Groundwork management please don't offer me a free coffee for my feedback. Just make your place safe before another person gets seriously hurt at this location. read more

I freaking love this café!!!! I know there's one on sunset in LA, but I honestly love coming to this one in Venice. It is pretty small inside, and a little warm, but honestly they make the best Chai Tea lattes with vanilla. I always get mine iced, whether it is hot or cold outside. The workers are super chill, and funny. I seriously come here whenever I am out in the area, which is pretty frequently. I still have yet to try any other beverages because I am still hooked on the Iced chai. I recommend that drink to any chai lovers out there, trust you won't be let down. :) read more

Great place for a good cup of tea. Most people have commented on the coffee but I am a tea snob. And when I find a good tea I am willing to travel for it. They have a great selection of teas and brewers that makes it nice, it wasn't super busy so I was able to sit and drink my Gen Mai Cha (brown rice blended with green tea) along with my Turkey And Swiss in peace. In all great vibe, good tea and I am sure they have good coffee too. Would have been 5 star but they didn't have their slow brew coffee going and I really was in the mood for that. read more

I just discovered this coffee house a few months ago, and I have been back a number of times. This place is quintessential Venice - funky decor with an eclectic mix of Venice folk. The coffee is some of the best i have had anywhere,- and best of all,it's organic. I perused their menu and ordered a hot Flat White and Iced Coffee. Both drinks were splendid! Smooth and rich in coffee bean aroma. Staff were affable and highly competent. It lacked a punch and was a little sweet (probably the non-dairy milk since the brew is technically supposed to be unsweetened). We also picked up a protein salad that looked fresh. This is the kind of awesome customer-first efforts that makes me such a fan of Primo Passo. I moved my review back up to 5 stars. Thank you so much, guys!! -- I've loved coming to Primo Passo for a long time. I actually drive from Culver City there because of the vibe, staff, coffee, and ability to chill, work, whatever. Even with no WiFi I've never complained because I just hotspot if I need to. But today I stopped by and one of their seating areas- namely the long table and seats near the front- was just totally gone. Replaced with more shelves of things to sell. The seating they've already had has been nice but limited. But now they've made if even harder to get a spot there. I mean, they could have put in the shelves and replaced the long table with a fairly large square table with seats (trust me, I scoped out the space for it) but so far nothing. Just shelves with more products and a big stand around space. With fewer and fewer 'third places' making people feel welcome, I'm disappointed in the less seating at Primo Passo meaning either I get even luckier grabbing a place to sit or I'm just SOL. The people and coffee are still lovely, but I won't be stopping by as often anymore. I was willing to do the drive before, but now I'll need to be in the area and not needing to bank on a place to sit and work or chill. I suppose the Starbucks across the street will do, but there are tons of those everywhere.

We stopped by to get afternoon coffee around 12:30, and it was pretty busy with only a few seats…read moreopen. There's a lot of seating and space though, so it's a good spot to either hang out or even work (no loud blaring music!). We got the cinnamon cardamom flavor in both a flat white and latte. It was a delicious homemade syrup that I would recommend trying! Then my friend got a Guatemalan pourover that was good as well. Sidenote - the bathroom is well maintained and clean for those of you it matters to.
