If you want to use Silver Fox Plumbing, or one of their other services, consider finding out what it will cost first. They greatly overcharged me. Fox charges by the item. For example, clearing a slow-draining sink is $90 (less 20% discount in my case) even if all they had to do was 5 minutes work. Three sinks - three times $90. Lubricating a replaceable faucet handle was $60 after discount. Net $285. For just under one hour's work. Even after allowing for travel time, this is far too much. Had they informed us of this beforehand, we could have decided what to do, but they do not. We should have asked. I suggest you do. Personally, I would like to find a reliable plumber who charges by the hour, even if it is $100 an hour. Other than the above, I have no problem with Fox. Speed, efficiency, ability to come out immediately -- all pluses. Note: I am informed there might be legal recourse. If the plumber does not provide an estimate or tell you the cost basis, the fee must be the usual or customary fee. I am not going to test this as there is just not enough money involved. read more

Ground Zero did such a great job on our hot water tank and water softener that we called them for a blown outlet. Turns out they do excellent electrical work as well. Sherman Powell, our electrician, was prompt, professional and extremely well trained and educated in his craft. He fixed the problem quickly and explained how other less intelligent electricians would have proceeded to run up our bill by pretending to search for the problem when he spotted it right away. Then, he easily fixed it and charged a reasonable fee. It feels great to know a company and their employees are honest and well qualified. I trust Ground Zero, and Sherman in particular this time, as a contractors explicitly and will never use anyone else. Thanks a million, Sherman and Ground Zero! Let's see I was told they would be here between 10am and noon. Yet no one showed. Not a call not an email not a letter. I mean nothing. A/C is out in mid July in phx az. Lol So I call the company and ask what happened. First I was told she didn't know how to put me on hold to find out. Then after I spoke and told her that your company never showed. She then asked is she could "put me on hold" lol After all that, she then comes back and says oh my tech will be there in an hour or so. Mind you is now 640pm well after the 10am and noon time frame i was promised. So I proceed to ask how are they to get in if I am not Home. (I gave the ok for the allegro Apts to let's them in of o wasn't home between 10am and noon today. She says I will get ahold of your apt complex to let us in. (Allegro Apts) I said how they are closed and I can't even get ahold of the on call emergency maintenance guy Rob and I have been calling him for days. She says the tech should be here with in a hour or 2. I said if I am not here how are they going to get in She put me on hold and now I waited for the A/C company's manager. Wade the tech manager also has no answer as his phone was breaking up bad he had zero answers to tell me other then his ONE tech was tied up all day. I asked how many techs he had. He said 3. I asked why would you now said another tech out or maybe you as the tech manager should have come out. Wade proceeded to tell me not to tell him how to do his job. Lol and said a tech would be here in the next 45 mins. Again I have to leave gave them the ok to enter. Can't wait to see how they get a key to get in. As I still haven't heard back from Rob the maintenance supervisor at allegro apt. Keep you all updated. read more

I had a service call on 10/21 for a clogged kitchen sink. I had already taken the pipes apart and it wasn't clogged under the sink. Tech came out, spent 12 mins outside, charged me $215.63. Next day ran the washer and my utility room flooded, tech comes back out and worked about 45 mins, charged another $125. 10/30 left a message saying my kitchen sink was backed up again. No call back. Called on 10/31, manager shows up at my house at 9pm and says it's a problem from my house to the street, will be $2900. Next morning, the owner & the manager show up and agreed that was the problem. My 29 yr old daughter was handling it at this point for me. The owner basically told her that he wasn't happy about being at my house (4th time out) on a Sunday morning at 8am, she basically told him to back up. The next day got an estimate from them for $6k. I asked why it had doubled from the day before, no reply. I told them I have insurance to cover sewer line repairs, no response. The owner told my daughter they had cleaned the pipes out on the East side of the house, kitchen and laundry are on the West side. There was no problem on the bedroom side of the house. Maybe they'd like to use that to justify the $365.63 I paid them for not fixing what I called them out for. I have a no deductible insurance policy for this repair that needs to be done. I have waited this long for them to get back to me and they haven't. I have a different company coming out now. The manager said I shouldn't have been charged for the second trip out, but I surely haven't seen any refunds. They must need that money really bad. I am a widow on a fixed income, I don't think they needed it worse than I do. They have walked away with my money and have fixed nothing. Don't do me any favors by cleaning out pipes that go to the bathrooms, I didn't ask for it. Sink still clogged, so unprofessional, disappointment is an understatement. read more

My AC went out in over 100 degree weather with my pregnant wife in the house. My apartment complex hired this company as a third party company for repairs and stated that they would be here the following day from 10am-12pm. They didn't show up until after 3 pm. The gentlemen that entered my home didn't even have a mask on (as COVID is peaking in Arizona). He asked me what was wrong and I said the air is blowing warm but besides that I am unsure. He grunted and said I will get on the roof and see. He turned my air on which it was 85 degrees at that time, left, and never returned. I had a corroded Moen shower cartridge. I had the whole thing taken apart and the puller tool in the cartridge but didn't have the strength to remove it myself, so I called GZP. The lady was very kind and booked me a late, same-day appt. The guy came over, was nice as pie but I'm not sure he knew what he was doing. He took the Moen puller off, tried for 20min to pull the cartridge out with a wrench (?) and gave up. Even I know there's no leverage or stability to pull a stuck cartridge out with a wrench. His "fix" for me was to remove the entire posi-temp valve for $880+ drywall repair. We do not have a water softener and I know it was corroded but seriously? I must have looked like an idiot, or he was tired after a long day. I called my handyman and although it took him 1.5hrs to finesse the cartridge out, it was a sucess. So, for friendliness and timeliness they get 2-stars, but I wouldn't call them again, they couldn't even get the cartridge out of my shower valve, waste of time and money. Live and learn! read more

These people are polite and courteous however, that is only to mask their outrageous pricing. My wife was alone in our recently purchased home in old Scottsdale. She was having sewage back up into a shower and bathtub. She was trying to find a service to come out and she contacted Zero. They came out and performed some diagnostics and ultimately stated there was a fracture in the sewer line. They sent a quote for more than $11K to repair. The cost of the work they did perform was more than 60% higher than the average in the area. We had the sewer repaired by a licensed plumbing contractor for $5,800., same range of work as per quote by Zero. Avoid this company, they will do the work but will charge you much higher than it should cost. read more

Called Ground zero to replace the main water valve on a Saturday, they were great on communication and showed up when they said they were. Gave me a price and completed the job with no issues. Price was little high but i agreed since i didn't have the time to do it. A few days later notice a leak on the PVC irrigation line right under the main water valve. Called them to see if they could see if the pin hole in the PVC line was caused by them. No way to prove it but through i would check and get a quote. They quoted me $350 to replace 10 feet of PVC line that is 8 inches deep. I replaced it in 1 hr and that was digging up line and covering it back up. I wanted the whole line replaced to avoid any other issues with it and they told me the same thing. Crazy on the price they wanted, the plumber was fast to give me a price. My guess is they get paid commission. I bought their service plan which should have saved me 30% on any repairs. Only reason i bought the plan is, it was cheaper to buy it on the main valve repair. Shop around before you use them, they over priced. They are good on communication and responding. read more

Was disappointed. My pipe in bathroom burst and flooded part of my house. I called them and he was here pretty quick but shows up with this little shop vac thing to use to get water out. I used my shop vac to do almost all of the water myself. I already had main water off when he arrived. I was charged $189 for a $9 piece at home Depot. Total bill for him to come and put a $9 angle stop on was $314. read more

Unfortunately I was traveling so I had to have them do it, but if you have time do yourself a favor to buy the $15 part and take 5 minutes to install. I appreciate a company's need to stay in business, but shouldn't over charge that much on these smaller jobs. read more

Called them after my husband twisted off the copper pipe to fridge's waterline (yup, this one of those $5 project turned into few hundred dollars), Brian came that morning and inspected it, the twisted copper pipe was only 1 1/2 from the concrete, he said that he had to bust the flooring to get at least 1" of clean pipe to be able to get a new pipe put on. He quoted us $1,000 for the job, but he was willing to negotiate to $700. But he had to do it the next day since he did not bring proper tools. Luckily, we used the time window to call different plumber, since the guy could not come that day, he suggested to open the drywall and see whether how much the pipe really left and whether the job can be done without damaging any flooring. So we did that and sure enough there was about 1" good clean pipe left, we immediately called Brian and asked him to try to work on that first before busting the flooring. Anyway, the pipe was patched without any flooring harmed, but he can't warranty his work since the pipe was so close to the concrete. The repair still cost us $350. Their rate is high, but at the end they got the job done. Will they have my business again? Most probably not. read more

I would not only call them again, I highly recommend Brian and Silver Fox. I found a slow trickle of water coming from my outside hose faucet. I called Brian at 8pm on Thursday and he -- and his son--also Brian--came Friday. On time!! Pipe and faucet were corroded. They had to cut the pipe and replace it and a new faucet. He had the needed parts in his truck and had the work done in less than 30 minutes. His fee was reasonable $133.00 and in the end will save me more on my water bill.
