The women working were super friendly and told me all about a sopa de frío they had made from scratch that day. I had the soup and a chamomile tea served in a nice little teapot (added a shot of CBD for relaxation x2,) and sank into the comfy couch. The soup was some of the best I've had. I had the breakfast sandwich first, which was delicious, and then the yogurt and fruit (non-greek yogurt version), and both were incredibly good. Nice atmosphere, well done decor, not quiet but not outrageous noisy either. My mocha was decent, not outstanding but decent. Prices were reasonable. They don't upcharge for milk alternatives which I appreciate but I don't think the soymilk was organic either. I wish they would change that. Picked up a couple simple egg sandwiches this morning--holy ripoff! English muffin didn't taste fresh, and the filling was skimpy.. and it took at least 15 minutes to make. Two people worked on making the sandwiches, neither wore gloves, and one employee was touching face mask while preparing food. I was so hungry I had a few bites and tossed the rest--didn't have time to wait another 15 min for a redo. Go somewhere else if you want a good breakfast. I could spend all morning and evening at this place. The atmosphere fits right into the Hood River scene. Very local vibe and very comforting hospitality. I travel all over for work and I am a self proclaimed "business squatter" (I like to take the credit for this term right now if it ever takes off) who spends many productive hours in coffee shops. I rank this one very high on my list and it is my daily stop each morning I spend in Hood River. If you are hungry and a veggie like my, I love the Veggie Sausage Sandwich. It comes with a great bun and they use good cheddar and great eggs. Their veggie sausage is very top quality and has the consistency and taste of a real sausage. The coffee is also a real hit. I have enjoyed the Soy Latte and Americano and both are very good - exactly what you'd expect to find in the Pacific NW. The staff is very friendly and there are several areas to setup shop to work, sit by the window and read a paper or cozy up to a loved one in a corner. Great place. Will stop by for sure on my next trip to the Hood. read more

This is a super cute cafe with good coffee and a great menu, however the service could definitely be better. The last time I treated myself to a coffee there, I ordered an americano, but got a latte. Not a big deal (as it was delicious), but not what I ordered. I ordered an americano this morning and waited...and waited. The 3 people working were kind of standing around. The food was gross and way overpriced. The old lady who might be the owner, was a bitch about not having avacados on the ticket when my boyfriend had ordered it and we paid for it. He ordered the "Mike" and it didn't come with toast. The old lady also was making ride comments about the employee who was making food. I went here and was pretty impressed! They have a mediocre gluten free pastry selection. I got a gluten free white chocolate raspberry muffin that wasn't the best muffin I've ever had but its a muffin! Thats for sure! I made sure to ask if they have gluten free bread for their sandwiches- something I couldn't figure out via any reviews here or the website and THEY DO! They have gf bread for sandwiches. I haven't tried it but there you go- now you know. When I was there (maybe around 4:30pm) their grill was closed. Not sure what time it's open/closed. To drink I got an ice blended kona mocha (I think thats what they called it), decaf with soy milk. I said whip was cool and didn't get it but thats okay I think a lot of people are confused when I want soy milk but am also okay with a touch of dairy whip for fun (I get stomach aches with too much dairy but just a touch and I'm usually fine). The drink was really good! I can't speak to their plain ol' coffee and espresso so I'm not about to whip out any coffee snobbery here. It was a good quality blended drink though. Not watered down, good consistency and tasty. Not ridiculously sweet but sweet enough to satisfy. They had a comfy couch that I lounged on for a bit while I enjoyed my drink and the music to rest and prepare my pregnant butt for the walk back to the car. I'd give it five stars if I liked the muffin better and if they had more gf pastries. Would definitely recommend this place though. OH! And they had adorable children's art every where. Good spot for a quick, high quality cup off coffee. The owners take an active roll in the business and it shows with the consistent quality. As silly as it may seem the front door handles are the coolest door features I've ever seen. Nice job on the decorative detail! Great spot. I am from Hood River and have always loved trying out new coffee shops. Grounds was one of the only places I hadn't tried yet so the other day I did. The girl who took our order was very helpful and friendly. She had curlyish brown hair and was younger. She was so helpful I couldn't bring myself to give a one star review. However, this older girl with light blonde kind of grey curly hair ruined my experience. She was older with glasses and had an attitude with other customers besides me and was grumpy. When our drinks came out, she barked at us, and she called me dumb under her breath when I couldn't find our drinks. I was shocked that she was so rude, not even just passive aggressive. Our drinks were good, but it wasn't worth it for me. With so many amazing coffee shops to choose from in Hood River, I won't be returning to a place where I am treated so rudely. read more

And, the highlight: the lavender lemonade = perfection; bold citrus flavor, not too sweet, with just the right amount of lavender. I've been here a few times over the past couple of years and it has always been great. They have their own bakery and they make amazing baked goods and pastries. I love their croissants but the star here is the blueberry scone. It is so rich and moist and not too sweet. The coffee is great and there is an abundance of comfortable seating. I made a stop here on my way back from Mount Hood for a quick coffee break. It was the first coffee shop I saw as I entered the Hood River 'city center' area. After a quick visit to this cafe, it made me wish that I lived a little closer to this place. I only had a machiatto, which was amazing, but by the looks of it, they make some great food too. From waffles to breakfast sandwiches, salads, and lunch sandwiches, it all looked good and was reasonably priced, too.
