Cheesesteak from Grottos on Main Street today at lunch. Enough said! I didn't complain because I very rarely complain about food for obvious reasons!

My roommates and I were making a trip up north for a couple of days and stayed in Delaware with family friends. This place was a nice welcome to a new state! It's a bar and a restaurant, so they card you at the door. Kids are still welcome until a certain time, though. The pizza was delicious and not a terrible price for how much you got. My friends made fun of me for putting broccoli on my pizza but there is just something about veggie pizza that convinces my brain I'm ~almost~ eating something healthy. We found parking but it is on a fairly busy road so just keep that in mind.

The DoorDash delivery was flawless and professional. Oh boy, where do I start with this pizza, and I guess I better tell the truth? Crust on this pizza taste like a frozen grocery store pizza, and the toppings were very light and not many! The toppings were pepperoni, ham, onions and mushrooms. There was plenty of pepperoni but not much ham and not much onions and definitely not much mushrooms? It was a 16 inch pizza and it felt very light in it's total weight when you picked it up? Most 16 inch pies with four toppings are fairly heavy when you hold them? So I bite into this pizza and the crust taste like a toasted pita bread or maybe a toasted piece of dry white toast, and I start eating the pizza , which is very thin for a 4 topping pizza? With each bite of this pizza it has very little flavor that jumps out or stands out, and it has barely any red sauce on it. I don't think I got a bad pizza because I think this is the way they make all their pizzas, and my feeling is that grotto is just another franchise that kicks out passion less and cookie cutter pizza pies? If you want love in your food, and you want somebody making it by hand with a passion, and you want really fresh ingredients, And you want it to look good when you open the box, And want it to taste" as good as it looks , if not better, then please DO NOT- get pizza from grotto ever! This is the pizza that you buy in a hurry, on the boardwalk at the beach when you're starving to death, and it's pretty darn fast and good, but for an every day pizza at your home, when you have a choice, this is Not a good pizza for regular- every day eating! OK so my overall experience today with grotto, was a 61% out of 100. No, I would not order this pizza pie again!

Women's restroom at Grotto's in Newark. Photo doesn't quite capture how disgusting it is.

It was sort of meh. Uninspiring and memorable for the wrong reasons. Definitely not a Northern Jersey taste. Sorry..

I waited 20 minutes for a drink at this bar. It's bullshit. They skipped over us 10 times.

I need to give a moment of silence for the queso, it was soooo good! I could have had a massive bowl of that and been happy. It was amazing! The oysters were ok, but the pretzels and queso blew them away. Do order this if you try this restaurant. My husband ordered a a burger and fries. This was amazing. He let me try some, I was blown away. It was so good. I ordered a fish which was also amazing. The location is quaint and comfortable. It is a bright restaurant with a happy, busy bar. Our server was wonderful! She was prompt and so helpful. We will be back!

I appreciate the happy Buddah statue decor near the entrance; it give the palce a unique and fun flare. The TVs around Us were showing video games and poker which was great for me since I don't really watch sports. They are also doing a food drive since I saw a box with cans in it. Not sure how long they're doing it though. As I took a look at the menu - at first glance it seems like a standard American bar menu with burgers, fries, nachos, salads, wings, and sandwhiches, but upon further reading I noticed the ingredience are a bit diffrent. This is where it really stands out. Subtle changes to some classic foods really shines at this place. Example: PeeBee & Jay Burger/Dirty Kettle Chips Overall we had a pleasant experience at this place and really feels like we could be regulars. Service is good, food is good, drinks, good, and portion sizes are excellent. (2) Alcoholic beverages, (1) appitizer, and (2) entrees. Bill came out to about $61. (Not including tip) Shout out to our server JASON. He was very attentive, we watched him keep that same energy with the other tables around us. Very honest and knowledgeable about the menu. Helped us pick items on the menu, gave us really accurate descriptions of the foods and drinks. Great personality energy and helpful, Drinks: beer and seasonal sangria (good) Food: Caribbean Sweet Potato Fries - We ordered a small, the portion size was great to share for twc people. The jerk sauce gives the fries a spicy kick to them which is a slow build up the more you eat. The salsa was great and really balanced out the spice, 1 appreciate the quality of mangos being just perfect (not too tarte or super sweet). Sweet potatos weren't very sweet but that was fine with me since I generally don't eat sweet potatos. These were propbably the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Fish Tacos with a side of garden salad with Herb Vinegrett dressing - Fish Tacos were good. the sauce was spicy, a lot spicier than I expected. Fish was well fried and good size. It didn't have a fishy taste to them so it felt fresh. The Herb Vinegrett dressing was sooooo goooood. I wish i had more of it. I can't even describe it other than it was so good. Chopped Santa Fe Salad with requested Jerked Chicken - Chicken was well cooked and juicy. Just the right amount of dressing and chicken. Ratio of sauce to salad was well balanced. Jerked chicken had its own flavor which added to the salad as a whole.Overall really good.

There is a bar area with some booths, as well as a large dining space. If want happy hour you have to sit at the actual bar though. We were greeted by super friendly and very nice hostess. We were seated immediately. Our server (shout it to Chloe) was also friendly and checked in on us throughout our visit. A manager of some sort even swung by to ask how things were going. If you have picky eaters or a large group with varies diets... this is the place to come. The menu is a book! Like it's robust. There are starters, burgers, pizzas, sushi, sandwiches... like it's never ending. When you see a book of a menu you wonder how the quality is going to be since it would be assumed that the kitchen has a massive amount of food that must be made on demand. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food that we had. Well done! Don't be intimidated by the menu. We ordered the potstickers which were tasty and delicious. They do have a little bit of a kick to them. Also ordered the special chicken biscuit sliders served with a side of white gravy. Get these!!! They were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Also ordered a BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. The fries come with an icing like filling sauce. Burger was great and fresh. Overall, a great meal and would come back.

There are a few popular chains located near the mall like PF Changs and The Cheesecake Factory but I had never eaten at Tommy's and the menu items sounded great. It's one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen, serving everything from burgers to salads to pizza to sushi to pasta. They have it all! There's no reason to be picky here. Food is served hot and fast. My party of 3 didn't wait long for a Grilled Ahi Tuna wrap, a Brisket Sandwich and Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. Everything came out relatively quick. The ahi tuna wrap was superb. Perfectly grilled tortilla wrap and the ingredients inside blended together beautifully. There was a hint of wasabi in there but it wasn't overpowering and I could still taste the ahi tuna. I added some soy sauce but it honestly didn't even need it. It's tasty as is. Awesome selection of beers here, too. I mean, it's in the name so no surprise there. Service was excellent as our waitress checked in on us multiple times and asked if we needed drink refills each time she stopped over. Tommy's has quite a few locations. It's nice to know I could probably find one when I'm traveling outside of my home state. Definitely come here if you love HUGE menus and phenomenal food!
