Don't know about the pizza. Don't know about service. Don't know about ambiance. What I DO KNOW is that online ordering app is the biggest piece of shit I've ever used. I went top-to-bottom with it twice (after "registering my email" twice) and it's the biggest waste of time of ANYTHING on the internet. And now I'll be getting a load of spam emails. Can't wait. Are they trying to make me go somewhere else and order ... because that's what I did. Holy smokes. Has NO ONE at this business tried to use this piece of crap? And you can thank me for not giving this a One-star rating because the experience was DEFINITELY that. read more

I've only been to this place twice, but the food is delicious. On my first visit, I went to pick up my order and was immediately greeted by a friendly girl. She made the ordering process so enjoyable, even though I was a bit confused about the menu. My price was also amazing. When I picked up my food, she provided excellent customer service and even gave me a compliment, which made me want to return. On my second visit, I ordered through the website and got points for my purchase. I'm also getting food delivered. I've only tried the pizza, chicken and fries so far, but they were delicious. The ambiance in the restaurant is also very family-friendly. I could easily sit down and eat there without any issues. read more

My husband and I were visiting Delaware and staying at a nearby hotel where I ordered a small and a large cheese steak for delivery. Once the food arrived we sat to eat and mine had cooked onions throughout the sandwich (which I intensely dislike), instead of raw onions. I called the restaurant and explained to them what happened, thinking they really wouldn't care that much and I hesitantly asked for a refund for my steak (my husband thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of his steak with everything hot and sweet on it). Well, the girl on the phone was the absolute sweetest and said that they'd make me a new one and deliver it again. She said, "I don't want you going without and being hungry!" About 20 minutes later, a hot, and very yummy cheese steak arrived with my raw onions! I can't tell you how impressed I am with HOTSPOT at 1127 Churchmans Place (302-368-1717) and I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, but more importantly, the customer service was top-notch! They sincerely cared about their customer and we will definitely order from them again during our next stay here! Thank you so much for taking care of this customer so incredibly well! read more

Still searching for the perfect New York style pizza. Hot spot had the right amount of grease and cheese but fell short with the pizza sauce. Way too much garlic in the pizza sauce, it was very distracting. read more

While in the area on business, I popped into this establishment in hopes of finding a great salad for lunch. I ordered a large Cobb salad to go and then waited about 10 minutes while it was prepared. Well, it was worth the wait as it was one of the freshest and most delicious Cobb salads I've enjoyed in a long time. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the Newark area! read more

Cheesesteak tastes like nothing but grease. Buffalo bites priced so high, I could buy my own chicken breast and sauce for less and be more impressed. We won't be ordering again in the future. read more

Found hair in two of the orders. We placed a group order, and order here often , since i work at the hospital. It was a group order of about 9 people, and two people had food in theirs, a stromboli and cheesteak. I was highly dissapointed at how this was handled. First it the hair was discovered on the stromboli, and we got a replacement. Later that day my coworker found hair in her cheesesteack half way through it, whe she called the lady who picked up was very rude and said "call back tomorrow and talk to the manger" and abruptly hung up. Disgusting that two of our orders had hair and how it was handl read more

Hot Spot Pizza - HAIR - Pizza Near Me - Newark, Delaware

Panini was burned. As soon as I opened the clamshell takeout box I smelled char. The chicken was like leather. Had to threw it away. And they put a huge piece of iceberg lettuce in as I guess garnish, which made the sandwich soggy on top of being burned. Also they didn't put any cutlery in with our order. read more

Work put me in hotel nearby so walked here after work because it came up as open til 10 pm on Yelp. Showed up around 9pm. There were about 4-5 customers inside waiting to order /for order, but when I walked in the counter guy saw me and immediately yelled at me that they were closed. Yikes, man. OK maybe you want to close early but then lock your doors and update your hours! Don't yell at a customer for not reading your mind and just wanting to give you business. Plus the guy was clearly willing to take orders from other people still in the shop so maybe he was clearly not interested in MY business? And I was just there to get a slice, they wouldn't even need to reheat it, just ring up the sale. Either way, this place does not understand customer service. So I know not to come here again. read more

I have been ordering from hot Spot for over a year and this is the third time in a year that I wasn't 100% satisfied I usually get pizza this time my pepperoni was burnt on the pizza that never happened before and the prices are higher since last year and it seems like I got less food and pay more money will seriously consider ordering elsewhere read more

Not bad...but not good. If you're looking for delicious pizza, this prob isn't your place. If you need something quick, this is a decent options. Wings had more sauce in the takeout container than on the actual wings. Pizza was pizza...not overly flavorful but I ate it. read more

This was seriously the best pizza I ever had. I wasn't expecting that because honestly I was just looking for something -- ANYTHING -- quick to eat after just having run the Delaware half marathon. My running partner and I saw this place just down the street from the hotel we stayed at, so we stopped in. Didn't look at reviews, didn't check the menu beforehand like I normally would have... just walked in and ordered. The pizza was absolutely fantastic. Perfect combination of sauce and cheese... crust not too thick and not too thin. This is my perfect pizza!! I thought the woman who was working there (I believe she is the owner, but I could be wrong) was very nice. No complaints about the service or atmosphere. Food came quickly and was very hot which is an important issue with me. I like my food super hot -- hate when it comes out just warm like it sat there for a while. So this was great. I would definitely eat here again if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I have ordered here many times. The food is not bad. However, last few times issues. What appears as under cooked wings. Pic attached. We rec a cheese stk not a burger. When we called for a refund. Woman was kind of nasty...wanted to pick up our wrong food...we have a limited break and are in and out of the office...she ask why we would not be there. ?!?! And told me wings can't be undercooked and asked why we didn't call sooner...1 we eat when we can ..2 traffic..3 if we are "around the corner from you " why is it ok that your driver takes45 min to come but we can not take 15.... Last few times we had a LG order for a lunch meeting .. Buffalo chx salad no hot sause..this happend 2 times...they say sorry and bring sause 40 min later. Lunch is over. The one time we picked up a salad and went to look at the order she says "the sause is on there " it was not!!!!! Next time we get a salad and crabcake.. crab cake fine..salad has avocado and not grilled chx.. The woman is just rude and defensive. read more

Pass on this place. They have hours that amount to whenever they feel like working. They were supposed to be open until 10p and I called at 9:15p and they said "sorry, we're closed." Anyone that doesn't want your business, doesn't deserve the time of day. read more

Do you know the saying, "there is no such thing as a bad free meal?" Well, this place is the exception. My work orders pizza from here often since it is cheap and price is low. I am at the point where i won't eat it anymore because it is so terrible - this is pretty much agreed upon by the majority of the people in my office. It all tastes the same, like cardboard. the cheese pizza tastes like cardboard, the pepperoni as well and the buffalo chicken blows my mind that it has the same taste. The other reviews must be fake as the pizza is worse than the Walmart pre-made ones for $5. read more

A better choice would be Dominoes or Pizza Hut.The same quality at a reduced price. Really wanted to try a locally owned place. Pizza, sub average at a premium price read more

I wouldn't even rate that garbage one star! I ordered 40 wings for my jobs food day. They were skimpy and disgusting. When I called, the person wouldn't let me get a word out and kept talking over me. Like do you want me to order or not? A simple 3 min convo turned into 15 mins because he couldn't listen!!!!! Anyway, I literally had to chase him down for 30 MINS! Like I don't have work to do smh. He told me he'd be at one entrance and would go to another. After running around my entire work building I finally find him. And what does he do? Get in my face and start yelling at me!!! Like whaaaaat?!!!!!!!!!! He went to the wrong building several times!!!!! And had the audacity to yell and get in my face. And he proceeded to tell me I'm ridiculous. Sir, the buildings are numbered!!!! It's clearly HIM that can't read!!! A grown man getting in a woman's face yelling!! Smh GPS drop last you off in front of the correct building. Smh. I wasted $40 and 30 mins of time I could of been working. NEVER will I buy from here again. Learn how to communicate and listen and learn some decent customer service skills. The worst food and customer service I've ever experienced! read more

Quite literally the worst chicken parmesan sub I've ever had. The chicken is not breaded in parmesan! What a joke.

Low end food poorly prepared. Delivery man reeked of cigarettes.

Don't waste your time for slow service with an attitude, cold pizza, and flat soda. The slices are small and unappealing. They wanted to charge me $0.50 for a side of oilve oil, which I declined ... No thanks. I'll be hard-pressed to go there again. read more

Ordered a 16 oz large pepperoni pizza here since they have a large cheese for 6.99 on Monday and Tuesdays. Afraid due to the reviews and once I had some slices about a year ago that were dry. My pizza had a nice amount of cheese and pepperoni. The crust was think and crunchy and sauce had a nice taste to it. Maybe they have shaped up since some of these reviews. I would totally get another pie on a Mon or Tues. read more

The pizza was good but a little small. Also the wifi was terrible and there was a bug crawling around near our food.

My office is located across the street from this Hot Spot location and we order from them at least 2 times per week. The selection of food they offer is very nice. No one in my office has ever had a bad meal and the customer service is always on the friendly side. Their salads and panini sandwiches are especially good. read more
