If I could give negative stars for this place they call a "bar" I would. 1st thing I noticed was their food is awful but again it's just a crap bar so I didn't expect gourmet food. 2nd if I could have a dollar for every time our server checked on us without us trying to track her down in the 3 hours we were there I'd have $0. 3rd they have a jukebox and correct me if I'm wrong, but you pay for songs and than sing along? USED TO BE a very nice place to hang out, had friendly staff, and always great food. NOW, under new ownership or management, I'd say don't waste your time. Food quality has declined and if they mess up your food, and you bring it to their attention there is a major attitude and you are told there is nothing wrong with it and are still charged! If you want it replaced, you then have to pay again for the new order. To add fire to the flame I was triple charged!! Management is very nasty and doesn't even hear you out and said I wasn't charged. I get txt alerts for every purchase I make, but I guess my bank was wrong huh?? The nasty manager did fix the overcharge the next day. I've been back twice since this happened with no issues, but went in with a friend yesterday and was told we were banned from the bar because of the phone call I made about being overcharged and because "I" wrote a negative review, online, which I DID NOT so now I am giving them the negative review they want. He was asked to move by a male Caucasian male because a female Caucasian female wanted to sit down . 3 large men could have been seated at the bench in which they were sitting. Went into Game Changers for some food and a few drinks. I was told by Brandon that I could pay by using cash, but he needed to place a card on hold. I gave him my card and told him specifically, I will pay with cash. We ate and the bill arrived and I gave him a one- hundred dollar bill. He looked at the bill and asked can he keep the change. We said sure, the bill ended up around $96, there was also a tip built into the original bill of $14.00. Another server Meeka assisted with the transaction. When I get home and check my bank account, they charged my card on hold. I called back to speak with Brandon and he was rude and asked me what was my problem--my problem is that you charged my account without my permission and basically are getting paid twice. I came back to the bar spoke with Meeka who said the charge will fall off they charge people because they have had walk outs in the past. Its been 3 days and the charges have cleared. I spoke with the owner, Tim who attempted to ask me was I sure this happened. I told him they would not provide me a receipt and informed him of the two separate charges. Im basically being robbed by this business. They stole out of my bank account. I will be reporting them to the attorney general's office, filing fraud with my bank and filing a claim at the better business bureau. You can't charge customers twice; its against the law. We go to game changers all the time because we love the food and usually the atmosphere. Tonight it's Friday and we stopped in for some dinner around 10pm. If we weren't starving we would have. Instead I paid 5.00 per person cover charge to get a headache from the women singing. She was terrible. And the acoustics weren't set up well at all. The mike was too loud and caused a head ache. I can't believe they charged me 5.00 per person to listen to this. Charging a cover for this is dispicable. Also the guy checking Id was rude and insulting implying I was too old to card. Our waitress was a white woman, skinny, blonde hair, bartending on Sunday 5/15 around 3pm. She greeted our table and we ordered drinks, a friend of mine tried a new drink she's never had b4 to later find out when she tried it she did not like it(peach Long Island). When the bartender came back my friend advised sadly she didn't like the drink and asked for something else, verbatim this bartender said "well it was made right, u still gotta pay for it & im not making u another one". With extreme aggression.. Fast forward to when we leave, my friend bought a 2nd drink and never drank the first. This waitress hollered in front of every person in game changers to my friend "your the one who can't afford an $8 drink" after having a second waitress tell us the owner doesn't allow them to take back food or beverage to exchange for something else if a customer doesn't like it.. wildest things I've ever heard of. My friend was then threatened to pay her bill of $8 for this untouched drink or they would call the cops. A second waitress stepped back in and said we could leave without purchasing that drink but that my friend was "barred" aka "banned" from game changers... on our way out the bartender who we do have photo of and would love to speak to the owner about, screamed at us "YOUR ALL BANNED" to the 7 other adults who had nothing to do with this entire situation. & on top of that this bartender was speaking as if she was going to physically fight my friend and come out from behind the bar. Waitress did not appear for 15 minutes for first drink. . . when she did appear, she forgot menus. 25 minutes later she arrived with two beers and left without taking our order. 20 minutes after that we finally flagged her down to get our check as it was going on an hour since we sat down, and we watched as friends waited over an hour to get "all you can eat" crabs for $30 and they arrived warm and small. Gave her a $20 and said to just bring change. . . 20 minutes later, the wife had to chase her down to get the change. My wife whispered at the waitress "quit tonight and get another job." It wasn't her fault, she was one of two waitresses waiting on two dozen tables (two with crowds of 12 or more) while the owners/managers/idiots ran around with order books asking if anyone needed to place an order but NEVER once helping with orders that HAD ALREADY BEEN PLACED. We gave this place a shot, twice, when it was just Game Changers. . .now that they've added seafood to the menu, it's even slower than before. . . and I'm not sure they even do anything other than microwave the crabs bought from some other seafood place because there was NO smell of Old Bay seasoning when most seafood places are filled with an overwhelming aroma of the stuff. Bad service, cold crabs and no atmosphere at all. NEVER again will they see a dollar from us. With all the other well-managed spots in the area along Rt. 40, this place is barely run at all and it's amateurs. I was told by one manager they will replace my 2dozen and than another manager said that manager isnt able to do that. I was offered smaller 1 dozen of crabs when i paid for large crabs. During an outing with a couple of friends we decided to go to the game changers. As soon as we walked in the service was completely unprofessional. I ordered a drink and by the looks of the way the bartender was making it, it looked completely wrong. I tried the drink and as I thought it wasn't good at all. It was pure syrup. I waited for a bartender to return so I could let them know but she never came back. When she returned we were ready to go and my fiancé told her that we didn't want the drink and we will not be paying for it. This was by far the worst place I've ever been to in Delaware the bartenders had very bad customer service they even called The police on me and my friends because we wanted to return a drink that was intentionally made incorrectly, not to mention someone else at the bar offered to pay the bill and they did not let them pay the bill. My family took me to this place for their Monday night half off menu items. The atmosphere was good. Plenty of TVs to watch sports, dart board and the floor looked like a football field. The wings and macaroni and cheese were delicious. My mom had the clam chowder and said it was great and tasted homemade with big pieces of clam and potatoes. The bathroom was clean as well. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. It hasn't been open that long and I'm not sure many people know that it is there because the signs are hard to see from the road. It looks kind of dark. It's annoying to have to ask the wait staff to describe a dish - just include info on the menu! The food is actually pretty good, but make sure you go early. We went later in the evening and halfway through our dinner a DJ started playing WAY louder than was necessary for the size of the space. I have been here a few times and it was always slow. The waitress was nice but you can tell there left alone and the owner just walks around aimlessly. There food was pretty good when there food was named after cities, but I haven't had the seafood that there offering now. There location is ideal but they advertise horribly and unfortunately won't be surprised if there closed down in a year from mismanagement. Since the change in kitchen management (thecrabguys.com) this bar restaurant has vastly improved.The seafood menu offers great selection including specials daily for all you can eat crabs. The atmosphere brings to the shore w the brown paper covers on huge picnic tables providing the real crab and beer fest feel. The menu offers something for everyone as well. The walls are covered w televisions to provide all sporting events. They also offer late night menu and music for entertainment til closing. Been at this bar everytime I hit the laundry that's next to this place. I have nothing but good things to say about this bar. Cheap beer, lots of TVs, good music on friday nights and cheap but good tasting chow to go along with the beer. Like one of the reviewers mentioned, the weekday's bartender always seems too busy, but I wouldn't blame the business for it, on the weekends there's a different bartender and he's cool.
