Second visit with my sisters. Pleasant atmosphere but parking ridiculous for a place of this size & popularity. First off my fave location is the Champions Gringo's. Just 5 star all the way. This location is young but I think in time, it will get there. I did notice improvement from our first visit which was so disappointing not to go into details..too long & negative but we gave them another shot. This time our server was on target with checking in often, more personable & quick with add ins & special attention to our requests. Loved her. Food good. I ordered the Chicken Taquitos. Although a little over cooked & overfried, they were tasty. A little skimpy on the sides of guacamole & sour cream for the number of Taquitos on the platter...sisters both got their yummy Chicken Tortilla soup & were satisfied. read more

Gringo's Mexican Kitchen - Mexican Near Me - Spring, Texas

Any business that is named a racial slur should probably be considered suspect on spec, but this place distinguished itself as poor on multiple fronts. We ordered take-out from this place a few weeks ago when we needed to feed about ten guests we'd invited to the house. Needless to say, our order of fajitas and appetizers for ten people was quite pricey, so we were expecting something halfway decent. When we went to pick up the order, though, we were told that they hadn't even received it. This, even though I'd called it in by phone. So we waited the 45 minutes in the parking lot for them to make our order and bring it out. So, not a good start. When we got the food home, it was far lower in quality than what we'd expected, than what we'd paid for. The beef was tough and lacked flavor of any sort. The fajitas were something like what you might expect to get from the grocery store, but at least we got fajitas. For ten people, they only gave us a tiny container of pico de gallo. I was furious that, after paying that amount of money for our order, we had to ask our guests to parcel out the fixings to everyone could eat. Very embarrassing for us as hosts. So, to summarize, we paid quite a bit for poor food that was delivered with poor customer service. Needless to say, we won't be going back, and we won't be recommending this place to anyone we consider friends. read more

Now I have missed eating here! Found this group of restaurants a few years ago. Have not been in this area for a couple of years. Stopped in for lunch and they are still EXCELLENT! Went with my favorite Pollo Marisco. Make sure you do not eat too many chips prior to the main course! I remembered that today, so glad I did. This is a combination of chicken, shrimp and crawfish covered in a white sauce which is amazing. Service was rapid and food was out fast. No complaints. Well one complaint, why can't you open up in the Fort Worth, TX area? PLEASE! read more

We love the green sauce; large portions with enough for leftovers; recommend the beef fajitas, Pacifico shrimp, seafood enchiladas (with flour tortillas), Cozumel chicken salad; variety of sauces to choose from; enough staff to handle customers. read more

Came here for mother's day. Was told 1 hour 45 minute to 2 hour wait. Papasitos said they could seat us immediately. We went to cancel our spot and was told they were cleaning off our table. Weird since it had only been 5 minutes. Service was ok. Our waitress was sweet, but never refilled our drinks and generally seemed to not understand how to provide a good experience. For example we ordered queso, and it took 20 minutes to come out, but only after we asked. Then it was only queso, no chips. Had to ask for that as well. This stuff is pre made so it should be as quick as getting drinks in my opinion. And the last thing that was annoying was the security guard. Parking was already limited and hard to come by. I waited patiently for someone to pull out. When they did, the security guard whipped into the space with his golf cart and just stared at me. Like he was challenging me to say something. Whatever dude, I just found another spot. Hope you feel good about making a 8.5 month pregnant mother of 2 walk considerable additional distance Entrees took an hour to come out. It was very obvious that my mariachi plate had been sitting for quite awhile before it came out. The enchilada sauce congealed and separated. The empanadas and sw eggrolls were soft and soggy. The underside looked like your fingers after sitting in bath too long. My wife's pulled pork was ice cold. She sent hers back. I just ate. Atleast it tasted good. read more

The food is always amazing but this time we had a bad experience. It was Saturday at 3pm. No one was waiting, tables open everywhere and the little host guy told us 35 minutes. Then when I said we'd wait he huffed and puffed and sat us right then. No wait at all. When he at us in a booth in the bar, the waiter said "oh my gosh why are you sitting me" and the. They kind of got into it alittle. Not a nice feeling to know the waiter doesn't want to wait on us... so we sat for 15 min. He never came back at all. So we got up and went back to the hostess table and a super nice waiter grabbed us and moved us to his section. He was great. But I don't think we will be back to this location. Twice we've had crappy waiters. read more

We order to go on the curb side and our order was wrong so we kind of understand the situation but on the next order our food was not good and wrong again and cold, I asked twice if my order was right due to the last order and she said yes everything is good, but when we got home the order was wrong again read more

Ee went around 3pm the parking lot was full. We were seated quickly. Everyone was friendly. The food came out quickly and was very good. read more

Our group of 4 was harassed by a manager and told to leave because we had a service animal with us. We announce this on arrival and asked to be seated on the porch. We ordered and waited 45 minutes in the heat for our food to arrive. The manager waited until our food was tableside to say anything and argued about the legality of having a service animal on the premises. They told us to put the dog in the car if we wished to eat. it was 92 degrees outside and they have no shaded parking. Will not be returning. read more

We came here in the recommendation of a guy at the airport rental desk. We loved the seafood enchiladas. They were amazing. The rice & beans were also delicious! Unlimited chips and salsa and a creamy green sauce! Would definitely recommend this for anyone to try. read more

Came here for mother in laws birthday. They have free ice cream while you wait. A great kids playground with slide. AstroTurf grass. Food was good. Plate was hot but the food was not as hot as the plates. We had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Service was ok. Interior decor was above average. Lots of nice booths and design work. They had a person that sang happy birthday. He said he was with the Houston Opera. He did a really excellent good job Will be back. read more

Love this place, my husband and I frequent this location. I absolutely love the pulled pork enchiladas and my husband always gets the burrito. I have not had anything here that I do not like. On top of these things I've also had the fajitas (awesome) and the mariachi which has chicken enchiladas, empanadas, southwest eggrolls, rice and beans! And the drinks!!!!! You only need one! (my fav is the sparkler). The servers are always nice and the food always comes quick! The only thing I do not like about them is they do not accommodate large parties. If your party is greater than 12 then they do not guarantee that you will even be in the same part of the restaurant. It was a nightmare try to have my husband's birthday dinner there. Granted, they did end up finding a spot for us to be in the same area but the hassle was REAL! Though, that does not stop us from going! We love the food so much. read more

What's not to love here. Food is amazing. Margaritas are so good. Everything I have tried is excellent. I like the vibes here. The wait is always a bit long but worth the wait. I like that they have a kids play set outside for those waiting. There is also lots of seating for those waiting read more

Good food, used to be,, the last two times there I did not get seated in an hour and a half,, very poorly managed. Make a reservation and pray it is there when you arrive. They say people aren't leaving we are so sorry. Drinks are now crazy priced. Apparently the cooks can't figure it out, the hostess can't help anyone and the management is invisible. A beer and a basket of chips would have at least patched it. Nope, why bother. We are the greatest, is their attitude. read more

Server Halle was attentive and had great recommendations. Will definitely be back. Very quick service and great food.

Never saw our "server" but Josh swept right in to save the day and take our drink order after waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged. He still covered his tables and made sure we had a great experience. We finally did get to order after 35 minutes and met our server. Thank you Josh for having exceptional customer service. The 5 stars is solely for him stepping up. read more

Gringo's Mexican Kitchen - Front of menu - Mexican Near Me - Spring, Texas

This place was a major disappointment! I'm giving it a four stars because our waitress was amazing for handling a table of 20 and we were seated a lot quicker because a large table didn't show up..... Texas definitely has that southern hospitality within them which is always great because in Los Angeles we don't really expect that or find that anywhere. Everybody was talking about how amazing this place was including our friends from Texas but clearly they have not tried the Mexican food in LA. I understand this is tex mex which means there's a little twist to the food, but I don't want to be eating food that reminds me of when I was in elementary school. I got a shrimp quesadilla and ate a lot of the free chips with salsa and they also use the guac that was given which was good but honestly just tasted like mashed up avocados with nothing else. The shrimp quesadilla was good and that's all. I went over to try my friends beef fajitas and I promise you that is what the lunch ladies in elementary school were cooking, or should I say heating up. Other than that our waitress was so sweet and very patient with us which is always always a good part of a not so great restaurant. read more

Service is great there. But the food was absolutely horrible. We've been 3 times to try different items on the menu and it simply was the worst. read more

I wanted to love this evening..I understand it's Father's Day ...but this was not a good experience. Positive: Bar staff was pleasant but understaffed...not their fault but still wasn't pleased with the service. Drinks were over priced in my opinion however weren't bad. Negative: We chose the "call ahead" option. When we arrived, the hostess was very short with my asking if we were on the list. She told me "it would be awhile" so we proceeded to the bar while we waited for our table...which we never received after almost 2 hours of waiting. I asked one other time to see where we were on the list, and the same hostess said she would text for our table when "they had time"...I'm not sure why someone would say that. At this point, we were so frustrated, we paid for our drinks and left. Gringos has been a positive experience until now...I hated that my dad didn't get to enjoy a fun Father's Day dinner but the the attitudes of the hostess and overall negative attitude had tainted my opinion of this restaurant establishment. read more

My wife, my two children and I put our names on the list on a Friday evening when the wait was 45 minutes. The text messages to our phone let us know how long a wait to expect and was fairly accurate. We were seated in a section with a large family group next to us and I immediately became convinced that our service would be slow because the wait staff would have to juggle so many of us. Logan our waiter, (who was working a double shift!) however was by far the fastest and most attentive wait staff I've had in a long time. The food was great, the drinks were perfect and we left unable to eat all the food on our plates. So leftovers are on the menu tomorrow! Thanks for a fun evening Logan, we will be back. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Texas on vacation for a graduation and his birthday,  May 26, 2021.  On May 26th, 2021 we arrived at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Picked up our rental car and proceeded to drive to Conroe to look at property.  Along the way we got hungry, saw a Gringos and decided to drop in because we had never heard of a Gringos before.  Our waitress was Angela Fields. Let me tell you she was the BEST waitress we had ever come across, and we eat out alot and have been to many, many restaurants.   Angela made us feel welcome. She was very attentive, personable and professional. Angela never let our drinks go without filling them. Chip, Salsa and food recommendations were on point.  If there we more waitresses like Angela I'd probably eat out more often. She is an AWESOME waitress and person. When we return to Texas, if we are in that area, we will DEFINITELY  return to Gringos and hope to get Angela as our waitress again. read more

A friend said " go to Gringo's, get the seafood enchiladas" I don't care for seafood and cheese together, but sure, I'll try anything once. Well, the white wine cream sauce really won me over. The combination of wine sauce, cheese, shrimp, and crawfish tails was pretty spectacular. With rice, and a pico salad with fresh avocado. My friend had the mixed fajita grill. It was a lot of food, and it smelled great. The way I watched him hammer it, it must have been pretty good. It all came in hot, and very fresh. The place is really clean, and all the servers really nice. The reason for four stars? We went for lunch. Service was a bit slow, but good, if that makes sense. If we were there for dinner, I wouldn't have dinged them at all, but at lunch, I gotta get back to work. I highly recommend it! read more

Love this spot- and the togo margaritas! Hope they continue that after covid. Halle was wonderful for helping me with my takeout order. :)

Worse experience ever! We dine in before plenty of times never experienced like this time we was a party of 4 adults 6kids! Wait time was 30-45 min we ended up waiting over 1hr &30min because another party before us complained about the wait mind you we have kids they didn't patio wasn't open according to them yet by the time we headed out we was two tables attended!! We left with kids distressed didn't even offered to take there food orders we went to Arandas within the 5min we got set and our children food ordered.. 20mins in they msg us about the table making it 2hrs for our table read more

Well we started out with a reservation at 7:45. Not seated until 8:30. We finally ordered drinks after 10 minutes of sitting . Then another 25 minutes until food arrived and some people still hadn't gotten their drinks. The place was less than half empty and numerous staff just walking around in groups doing nothing. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time where we had to ask other wait staff for help. Eventually my wife had to walk up to the bar and ask bartender for he drink she ordered 30 minutes prior. All in all it was a horrible experience and the worst we have ever had at a Gringos. We also saw other customers complaining. Our table of 8 had a horrible experience. Bad enough to where none of us will return. read more

Yoooooo this is the best place for a happy hour with coworkers. They always have a great drink special. The service is awesome. The food is even better. The flautas are my absolute favorite. Don't forget about the ice cream cone on your way out. Parking is a nightmare but it's worth it. read more

Gabby T is awesome!! Great service. Will be back! James the manager was also very attentive.

Waited 25 minutes at a table and still didn't see a server even after politely telling the hostess that we still had not seen anyone. Horrible service! This place is fantastic! The ambiance is extremely inviting and charismatic. The restaurant itself is clean, and full of happy and helpful staff. The price point for this eatery is roughly 10-20 % higher than your average sit down Mexican food. But oh my goodness it is worth it. The quality of the food is fresh, and way above average. I would highly recommend the mariachi Plato. Also, it is important to not that even though some of the meals are expensive, they are very generous portions. If you have been on the fence about going here, you really need to jump of the dang fence and run on down here! Also, the chips and salsa are excellent. read more

This place is a good alternative, if you cannot make it to Pappasitos. Their salsa and chips are pretty good, and so is the food selection. We've been there about three times, and we've not yet been disappointed. My kids order the fajita tacos (tacos al carbon), I order the quesadillas and my hubby ventures out with several different plates. I really like their queso, and so do my kids. The staff has generally been pretty friendly. During our last visit, our waitress was friendly, but we had to ask for drinks, sides, etc., several times. It's a good spot to bring the kids, but I would not do it during the evening on the weekends. read more

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant out for the first time. Rave reviews. Let me tell you, maybe our luck was bad that day, but we basically had NO service.
