I really like this place. Every time I come here the food is always delicious. I usually get pasta because it really is that good. They cook the pasta perfectly and the sauces they use are bursting with flavor. The cooks really know what they're doing. The service is quick and friendly too. This place is a gem in the heart of Whiting,IN. I like the area because the downtown feel has a small family cozy feel to it. So to have great restaurants like this one makes it that much better. Parking is sometimes hard to find but eventually you'll find something. They also have the best tater tots! Crispy brown tots that bring me back to my child hood days! The sweet potatoes fries are good as well. Sometimes I order a side of this just to snack on later. This place is worth coming to visit. read more

I was there on 04\30\19. I ordered a Blackened chicken wrap, and a Rudy club salad. I repeated my order twice only to find that they messed up my order. The chicken in both items was absolutely horrible. Tough, almost rubber like the texture was bad. We tried to eat them but we ended up throwing more than half away. I called on 05/01/19 to talk to a manager spoke to Yasmine I think that was her name. Told her about everything. She told me Grillers is aware of the chicken issue I'm not the first to complain. Are you kidding me. This business is still purchasing this chicken from the same supplier. I told her we wanted our money back she had to talk to the manager first. She called me back at work only to say he would only give half of the money or more food. NO THANKS!!!! Grillers is one of the newest additions to this busy street but has already made a good impression on the local visitors. Their menu has a variety of choices that range from Chicago style dishes, pitas and wraps, salads, starters and sides, broiled burgers, specialty sandwiches, and a separate pasta menu and kids menu. Nothing on their menu is over the price of $9.00 however; you have to buy the drink separate with your order. Their location is in a decent spot, the inside isn't very large but it isn't a tight space either, they are on a busy street with competition but they still manage to stick out. The place is very orderly, clean, and well kept. Everything in there seems to be new and they have wonderful service. In the several occasions that I have eaten there the staff has been nothing but nice and of course the food was excellent! I've tried almost one thing in each category on the menu and they have all been delicious! For customers they have the convenience of having their food brought out to them once they have ordered. I went here a while back, the food was very good, and the service was also pretty good. There was nothing majorly special about the service there, but the service was still good. The service; however, did seem a bit more friendly than usual and that was a plus, because it is always pleasant when the people you order your food from are friendly to you. The atmosphere here was a pleasant one, it has two television sets in the restaurant, it has a few pieces of art around the restaurant, and an all metal counter to order from. These all add to its atmospheric bliss and allow me to say that it has a pleasant environment to eat in.\ The food here is excellent, the burgers are very good, the fries and tater tots are also very good, and the desert is very good as well. The price of the food; however, is not so pleasant. The food is pretty high priced and it would not be a place to go to daily unless you have the money to do so. Was here a few hours ago for the first time and the food was not bad at all for the price. Also liked the dining area which was clean and comfortable. BUT! We got our food and realized that there was no ketchup on the table. So I decided to get up and ask for some. Which was not a problem at all. The young lady at the counter asked me which table I was seated in and that she would bring it right over. So I had no problem with that. For the first 4 minutes!! Once about 7 minutes had passed my gf decided to go ask the other young lady at the counter and she gladly asked if we wanted packets or a bottle and just handed her the packets. GREAT I said. Then I finally start to eat and my food was starting to get cold. I didn't complain as I didn't want to complicate things. But I did enjoy my food but also hated the fact that this young lady didn't even come apologize for forgetting to bring us our ketchup. She didn't even have a clue that the other girl had gave it to us. So she completely forgot!! I would understand if the place was crowded and a ton of things were going on at once but there was only one more table with about 4 people. Experiences like this make you forget about the good food at many places. People eat out to enjoy a good meal and good service. Grillers used to be a pretty decent restaurant, but lately it has gone downhill. On my last couple of orders (cajun chicken wrap and a chicken caesar salad), the chicken was as tough and dry as jerky. Prior to that, I found that when ordering a sandwich, the pickle that used to come standard with the meal is now .50 cents extra for a single spear. The pasta is also nothing to get excited about, as the sauces seems extremely watery and unflavorful. I think it'll be a while before I order from Grillers again. read more

Great food, really bad service!!!!! If you get an order to go make sure you check your order before you walk out the door. I can promise you that your order will be wrong. If you have a delivery plan at least an hour delay. If you eat in plan on them coming around and asking you what you ordered despite the number they give you to put on the table. First time there, was referred to this place by may daughter who raved about it. The food was good, a nice change from the fried food in our area. Good selection on the menu. THE DOWN SIDE: The young cashier Katie needs an attitude adjustment. Asked simple questions and she responded with a roll of her eyes like I was wasting her time. I have being going there since they opened but the last few times have been very disappointing. First, of all my favorite was the asada wrap great wrap for the price and size and it seems that price went up and wrap got smaller. Before it would take 2 people to finish one. Listen I know you're in a downtown spot...but it's not downtown Chicago. Let's be serious. Dont go here! Terrible service. Their advertising says they are open til 9pm....me and my husband walked into the restaurant at 8:15pm and were told "they are closed". Asked why. My colleague and I work down the street from Grillers and decided to give it a try. The first time we were very satisfied but unfortunately the following two times were a nightmare. The second time we ordered carry out and weren't told that a few items that we ordered were not available until we arrived for pick-up. Also, the food was already cold and stale, even though we arrived ten minutes before the food should've been ready. When we arrived to our workplace we were missing a few items from our order. We decided to let it go...everyone has "off" days, right??? The third time, we ordered online after the lunch rush hour. The time online said thirty minutes. We waited one hour and ten minutes. When the driver arrived he had the wrong order and also charged my cowerkers credit card three times the correct amount. When we called to complain the manager took this as a very minimal issue and quickly dismissed it. Later in the afternoon my coworker began feeling nauseous and sick. When she took out her dessert leftovers she notices a dark green smudge on her cheesecake and discovered it was MOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup the desserts were spoiled. We went over to complain and recieved our money back. The staff was very rude and did not care that my coworker came down with food poisoning. Our doctor had to prescribe her medication to help with the fever, vomitting and diarrhea.
