Very disappointed in this place. We came in at noon and they had a bunch of open tables. They didn't appear unusually busy but it took over 40 minutes to get kids' meals and salads. The salads were basic and showed up with no dressing. The kids meals were decent and the kids' mac and cheese was actually good. We got stuffed mushrooms as well which were pretty tasteless. The service was insanely slow and the waiter was super scattered. No one ever came to fill our waters and I had to chase the waiter down for an update. Unfortunately for the family near us, one of their kids got sick. Listen- vomit happens with kids but the hostess had the oddest reaction. We refused to go boxes so the hostess came over. I said no again and she rolled her eyes and told us "everyone has kids." Ok, sure but there was vomit stinking out of carpet less than a foot from us and vomit on our jackets from splatter. We are not difficult and her attitude really upset me. I approached her as we were packing up to say something and she continued to be aggressive and told me I lacked compassion. She also said she didn't worry about our vomit sprayed jackets. It was a really weird reaction overall. $91 for a bunch of uneaten food. read more

My rating is based on the only dish I've ever had at the Grille 58. I order it every time I go. I love their baked scallops. They are fat and moist and so tasty. I like that they offer two vegetable choices, but they've been the same for some time. One is Ratatouille, a stewed vegetable dish. Tasty. The other is butternut squash. I'd like some different choices. read more

Best seafood around ! I have been here many times, have never had a bad meal. Staff & service is great. Go, you won't be sorry.

Scallop roll and whole belly clam roll are really good here and really fresh! Prices and portions are great as well.

Never had a good experience here...One of the first time I ate here my chicken was raw and the manager offered to recook it as a concession. We had to fight to get the raw meal taken off the bill, their idea of a good experience is asking guests to Pay full price, for a meal They couldn't eat. read more

I ate here for the first time yesterday and it was wonderful. It was my 17th anniversary and I was pleased with the cleanliness, food and courteous wait staff. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. If you are a seafood lover I recommend the seafood medley it has haddock scallops and shrimp it was so delicious. I will be returning several times. read more

Love this place! love the food-- Such good value for your $ and it's just a great bonus it's 5 minutes from our house. Seafood is always delicious- there was a Dinner Special with Mussels and Pasta, which we asked for as an Appetizer without pasta---the change was made with a smile and tasted so GOOD! I take everyone here that is in the neighborhood! Thanks to the great Cooks! Sharon is my Favorite Bartender!! read more

58 is a good consistent local place. This isn't a craft cocktail bar so order a beer or something simple. It's classic bar food and fried seafood is good. I really like the steak tips, they are always prepared as ordered and tender and the fried clams are really good too. I haven't been wow'd by any of the sides or veggies so I stick to fries. Overall its a good spot to grab a bite. read more

Me and a group of 3 walked in to the hostess being completely personable. She told us a 25-30 minute wait; so we waited. An hour/ an hour fifteen minutes later, there was no sign of a table anywhere and their excuse was "a party of 50 just walked in" wouldn't a party of 50 make a reservation? So a lame excuse for one. So then we kept asking how many were before because we were really going to leave. A few people before us already left and the hostess gave petty attitude and was rude as hell. Other than that, the onions rings were pretty good. read more

This place has been down the street from the homestead for a few years now but I have never had an opportunity to try it out. Recently we had a family get together and decided to give it a go on the suggestion of my in laws who are regulars. I knew when I woke up that morning that I wanted to have a big greasy burger with bacon because it felt like one of those days. I was hoping Grill 58 would have what I was looking for, something fresh, big and juicy. They didn't disappoint, as a matter of fact I have to say that it was one of the best pub burgers I've had in a long time. Mrs. M and I started off with some calamari which was very good, typical fare, not over cooked with peppers and a marinara on the side. Mrs. M had a chicken sandwich with guacamole for her entree and she enjoyed it very much. It was pretty ridiculous in size as well so it offered great value as lunch the next day. As mentioned previously my bacon burger was awesome. I did order medium rare and it was medium, however it maintained its juiciness so it was just great. So why only three stars? Service... We had three groups in our party and when Mrs. M asked for separate checks our waitress visibly got annoyed at this, sighed and sort said oh fine, semi aggressively. Then at the end of meal we asked her to take a group picture of the table and she flat out said no, saying that she would send someone else over to do it. Well she never did and we flagged down a busboy to it. Then she tried to take credit for sending him over to do it. I know two stars is a lot to deduct for service but this is important to me and it just seemed like she didn't care for us very much. I was really off put by this to be honest. I will go back but I will avoid this waitress without a doubt. UPDATE EDIT: We went back for lunch recently and had a waitress who was awesome, actually super nice and the complete opposite of her colleague. I'm changing my review to 4 stars now as a result. read more

This place is always packed, so we decided to try it out. It definitely speaks to an older clientele. The menu is very lengthy and ranges from seafood, to Italian to sandwiches to pizza. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. The food itself was average. read more

We were in the area and read some decent reviews for this place, so we decided to give it a try. Do yourselves a favor and don't waste your time, or money. The bf and I both ordered Veal Parm. His with penne and mine with fettucine w/butter. My son ordered the fish sandwich, which came with fries. Service was decent and it was a nice looking restaurant. We didnt notice the booths with the tvs until after we were seated or we would have requested one. Soda was soda, but being that it was fountain, it loses points with me. Just not a fan of fountain soda. No bread or rolls before dinner which was a disappointment. The meal itself was a disaster. The veal was very tough, and I ordered fettucine with butter. It arrived with a side bowl of butter packets....4 of them I think. I mean, come on...you can't tell me there's no butter in the kitchen that someone could've have melted? The pasta was mush...if I closed my eyes and took a bite, I would have sworn I had ordered mashed potatoes. My bfs penne was not mush, as my pasta was, but it was far from al dente. My son's fish had a very strong fish taste so he opted to leave it. The fries weren't horrible. And then...came the flies. Several in fact, and they were divebombing our plates while we were trying to eat. I mean, you can't help a fly or two getting in now and then, but this was ridiculous! And the flyswatter on a table on our way out just assured us that this was a common problem. Needless to say, we won't be back. And for the over 50.00 for the bill....I wish I hadn't gone in the first place. read more

This is my favorite local restaurant! I've been here many times, and the food and service are both always top notch. It's a small-ish place, so there is often a bit of a wait, but believe me, it is well worth it. My favorite dish here is the tortellini. They give me so much, it's at LEAST enough for two meals, so not only do I get a tasty dinner, but I have my lunch all sorted out for the following day! The rest of my family tends to get the seafood here, and really seem to enjoy it. Also, we go here often enough that the staff recognizes our family and are always friendly and seemingly happy to have us back. I like a small local place who knows you and appreciates your repeat business! One note I'll make is that they will not seat you until all members of your party are present, so make sure everybody is on time (and don't think you can send one person ahead to secure a table). read more

Went to their new Lyonville Grille last night. Food was mediocre. Service was bad. Took thirty minutes for food. Wish that was the end of it. Wrote a review on their fb page. To add insult to injury they love to insult you when you give them a bad review. Completely unprofessional. So on top of bad food, mediocre atmosphere, they don't even apologize for their mistakes. I will not be going to either establishment in the future and will recommend others go elsewhere in the future. read more

Food is delicious, unfortunately we are disappointed when you watch table setter put silverware on a seat where someone had just been sitting then spraying the table down only to wipe off over the silverware that was just placed on a dirt seat. This wasn't the only concern. Second we watch a cleaner re-use butter packets as they were put back in there apron pocket to be re-used. BAD BAD BAD.. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have watched and reported these bad habits. Would have given 5 stars but I have reported this before and still no change. read more

May 25, 2018 We were patrons of Grill 58 before this evening . We put our name in with the hostess (nice blond lady) but after waiting and seeing other parties seated after us arriving . went and checked on status to find that Barbara had crossed off a group of names including mine. And Barbara was seating the other parties and never asked or acknowledged us in the standing area by cash register. Barbara does not make a good impression for this business. read more

Grille 58 is one of our new top favorites! It gets very busy, so make sure you time it right so you're not waiting with the dinner rush. I usually do not like to wait but here the wait is definitely worth it. We love their pizzas but my personal favorite is the Caribbean Salad with shrimp (can also choose chicken, steak...) We've also ordered take-out a few times and the quality of the food is just as good as if we were dining in. read more

Horrible experience , food looked great but not only were credit cards screwed up but the waitress came out of the restaurant after us (thinking we left something) nope it was to yell at us about not tipping enough which floored me and made me mad it just made me want to throw my nasty left overs in her face but I will never return to that restaurant ever again and believe you me I have a mouth and will be spread the word read more

Good consistent meals and service. Never a disappointment, and this is our goto place for an excellent fried fish dinner on the cheap. Great relaxed atmosphere with a quick turn around on their always packed tables. Clean and professionally run. All good here. read more

Been here a couple of times and we are big fans. So is everyone else. It is busy here on the weekends and expect a small wait. The seafood is very good and other meals are flavorful. Prices aer very reasonable. A must try. read more

The very first time we came to the grille we were blown back by the quality of the service of Christina and the taste of the food. I enjoyed the mac and cheese and my husband took to the swordfish. We do not normally write reviews but we wanted to show our support any way we could after one of the best meals we have ever had dinning out. Went for the first time today, great menu, but my buffalo chicken came as barbecued chicken and the medium burger came all pink inside, even light for medium rare. Nice place but with both of our orders wrong, won't be returning, also bathroom was not great. Toilet seat chipped and doesn't flush properly, light motion switch not working well. Terrible impression which is too bad as we love Lyonville and know this place has the same owners, it's just run down and not managed well. Too bad. read more

This is my new favorite place. I have been 3 times in the last few months. Eric T is 100% correct about the pizza. 1st time I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, expecting a small personal size pizza for the price. Instead, they bring out a pizza that took up half the table. This pizza was awsome!! Chicken, buffalo sauce, bacon, and blue cheese. So good! Another time I got a Monte Carlo sandwich, my favorite kind of sandwich. I usually call it a Monte Cristo, but it was basically the same. And that was HUGE! The last time I was there, I was out with friends for a motorcycle ride. One of the guys got a basket of onion rings. Again, a ginormous serving for the price. Mmmm, now I am getting hungry. Can't wait for my next trip to Grill 58. read more

First time coming here, our waitress was decent. She checked up on us once and when I said I needed a drink twice and she proceeded to talk to another table for 20 minutes. We left her $5 for a tip and left. We were still out in the parking lot and she chased after us and said "thanks for the $2 tip". This caught us very off guard because we've never had someone chase after us over a tip. I am a waitress and I know it sucks when people leave you a bad tip but I would NEVER chase someone out of the restaurant. That is not only unprofessional but rude to us as the customer. Then another waitress came out and told us to "just fucking leave already". We will never come back here again. These waitresses need an attitude adjustment. read more

If you like old steaks, instant mashed potatoes, freezer burnt ice cream, and canned sauce then this your place.

YIKES!!!! Last time we ate here we had great food and service but not tonight. Sat at the bar tonight to watch the Red Sox. I ordered Chicken cacciatore and it was not cooked through (veggies hard/raw) and was extremely watery (flavorless) despite the menu listing marinara as the base. I ordered a side of marinara and it came out cold. Don't like sending food back so packed it to go. The waitress/bar tender didn't seem to care at all but apologized for the cold marinara and turned and walked away. Left hungry and extremely disappointed in the service. read more

Meh. I've eaten here 4 times mostly because it was conveniently located nearby. But the food has never been better than just okay, the ambience is non existent, and I've only had one decent waitress. One time, the woman seating people was downright rude, when I asked why so many people were standing in line when there were open tables. I found it amusing--stuff like that doesn't phase me unless I'm in a hurry. The food is pedestrian and forgettable. Frankly, I would never choose to eat here--I've always been in the company of others who suggest it. There are so many better choices a short drive away! read more

Terrible pretty much describes everything about this hole in the wall; food, service, management, atmosphere, ect. To start off sandwiches there come with fries, chips, or a pickle free of charge. The chicken salad panini "special" (which isn't that special since it's available every day of the week) comes with soup. When the server came over I asked to get the chicken salad, but just on different bread since I'm not a fan of ciabatta rolls. She gave me an odd look, said she'd have to ask, and said that rye was the only thing available..which was fine. She then proceeded to ask what I wanted as a side, I said no soup, just a pickle would be a good. She rudely told me that I'd be charged $1 extra for the bread change and a $1 extra for the pickle....so whatever, sounds a little crazy, but that's fine. So after asking the actual OWNER, she comes back to tell me that they won't make the bread change. What?! I've worked in the food industry for many years and I've literally never been to a place that wouldn't change the bread. But anyways, I proceed to tell her to just put the chicken salad on the plate then. After asking me 3 times if I was serious she said she'd obviously have to ask (so confused why you need permission from the actual owner to have your sandwich without a roll?). So she comes back and says that the owner would like you to know that this is the ONLY time he'll do something like this!! I didn't say anything at the time because I was with my grandmother; however, I was so annoyed by the situation that I called. I initially got "management" who was actually pretty nice and felt bad. I was then put through to the owner who obviously doesn't have any customer service skills himself (so essentially I'm not surprised his staff sucks). It was about a 2 minute conversation, he told me that if he wanted to make changes we wouldn't have a menu. He also stated that, "you are complaining to the wrong person, don't come back." So what I gained from this enlightening phone call is that, I'm guessing the owner has some kind of axe to grind, probably didn't go to college, got stuck running some lousy restaurant on the border of what we call "MOPO" and is one of those all-around miserable people. Business school may have done this guy some good! Needless to say this place will be out of business in no time, just like every other restaurant that's been in there. read more

The food here is kind of average - nothing above average or out of the ordinary. Also, the prices are okay, or even a bit lower than some of the other local places. However, the one thing I really do like about this place is the atmosphere - it reminds me of a nice fireside meal. Also, the service was very professional and easy to work with. read more

Coming from Bridgewater we passed many restaurants on our way here. The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. We were greeted by the hostess as we sat at the bar. The bartender however, was less then friendly. She was an adequate bar tender just with no personality... Until we paid our bill and tipped her. She was then very friendly. Maybe a retraining is in order......oh yes, we were they only ones at the bar for most of the time!!! Might be a sign from bar tending in my younger days. read more

Found this place while paying a work related catering invoice for their sister restaurant. I have gone back many times since discovering; I have been thoroughly pleased each time as far as quality and quantity of ingredients from the rolls, bacon and dressing used on wedge salad to the drinks. Excellent seafood. The only thing I have ordered that I was not happy with was the Grille 58 steak which I ordered after seeing it posted here. The one pictured here looks good; when it arrived it was much smaller, dry and tasteless. 5/4/2018: I have eaten here many times in the past year (at least six times). Food has remained consistent but have made note of a few small details; on one visit the tartar sauce was all mayo, they literally had no relish to make tartar sauce. If the seafood is one of your best sellers you should have (edible) tarter sauce available On another visit I was disappointed to be given the small sealed take out containers of sour cream (I hate when restaurants do this). I'm hoping this is not a sign of they beginning to cut corners and quality; the condiments matter. I'm also hoping they make the potato skins a regular menu item (they're only available every now and then on the dinner specials menu; they are supposed to have scallions on them and did not on our recent visit). read more

First time here today! Will be coming back for certain! Wife & I sat at the bar, nice setting, plenty of room. Drinks were good and reasonable. Bartenders were attentive & quick to respond to our requests! I ordered a cup of kale soup, and it was very good. My meal was the surf & turf, wife had jumbo tortellini with alfredo sauce. Both were plentiful and prepared perfectly. Reasonable cost, great service, nice setting! We will be back! read more

nice new little nugget of charm to the town of Halifax... The food is great, portions are always more than enough, prices,,, cant beat them for sure,,,, The seafood would be my recommendation,,,, Scallops to die for,,, cooked to perfection no matter which way you get the, (fired or broiled). The staff,,,, my gosh,,,, all the staff is great,,, it is one of those,,, everybody knows your name (of face). The girls always smile or say hello to you, because i am sure they have waited on you at least once or twice. This place use to be small, but a recent expansion i am sure will do wonders for the business. I can not say enough good,,,, as my star stats Woohoo! as good as it gets!!!!! read more

Great service, friendly help in restaurant. Serving size was generous, price was reasonable. A fun place to meet for lunch or an early diner. Sorry I did not go sooner. Quality of what we had was really good. The BLT with fries was more than you could eat. The Hamburger and fries was also generous. The combo appetizer was large to say the least. I had what was left of it for lunch the next day. Tables are not all jammed together, so the restaurant experience was very nice. Will be going again soon! read more

As another reviewer mentioned we experienced flies around us as we tried to enjoy our meal. It sort of killed the experience and made is question if we will go back. They have decent pub-style food at prices you would expect, but my steak was overcooked and the potato was lukewarm. My husband enjoyed the scallops, though. read more
