Having dined at Connie's 3 times since finding it, I recommend this sweet restaurant to everyone who loves a good breakfast joint. The menu is filled with wonderful and inspired choices, the coffee is delicious and frequently refilled, and the service is expertly quick & efficient. When you go to a diner, you expect diner food. I hate to say this, because the people there were so incredibly nice and accommodating. The service was outstanding. The guy who assumingly runs, owns, or manages this place was hilarious and so kind my one year-old son. Everything was easy about this place. Parking, getting seated, being quickly served, and being able to pay and get out of there as quickly as possible. The menu has your expected diner breakfast options. For whatever reason, in the Hanson area, a lot of the breakfast places are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We were on our way to a different restaurant when we found out quickly that it was closed so we ended up at Connie's. I usually get my son a fruit bowl, but they said they don't have any fruit there. That may have been my first experience going to a breakfast restaurant and not having there be fruit on the menu. Wondering how they make blueberry pancakes, etc. I got him a bowl of oatmeal, and it was very sweet. I wondered what they made it with. It didn't look very oat-y. My husband got biscuits and gravy, my dad got a traditional egg breakfast, and I ordered an egg white omelette. It didn't look very white. They didn't have avocado. The omelette was very greasy. The potatoes that came with it were basically french fries. If you are a healthy eater or anything like me, I get sick if I have too much grease or fried food, you probably don't want to eat here. If you're a hungover teenager who doesn't have to worry about their weight and likes greasy food, this place is definitely for you. Also, keep in mind. If you go to a diner, that's the kind of food and environment you're going to get. This place delivers completely on this. It looks like every diner scene from every movie. It even had the older guy who goes there every day reading a newspaper and drinking his coffee. Everything to me, was great about this experience except for the food, this is just my opinion. Great food and great staff. I go there weekly with my adult daughter. We are both picky. Her because she has a little appetite (thus finicky) and me just because I'm a grumpy old guy. So we often don't give shops a second shot due to food preparation or quality of service. We are hard to please. Connie's is weekly for both reasons. She discovered Chicken and Waffles soaked in honey and I think their fried fish is a good as you will find. Add to that the coffee is always fresh, the service is just about perfect and the prices are reasonable. Next time I guess I'll have to try the whole belly clams. They took your order & they were very personable which in the field of working with the public is essential! Breakfast menu is wonderful and never had a bad experience with that. Fish and chips are awesome! Never order a cheeseburger here though; I got two cheeseburger plates to go and the burgers were burnt to a crisp and so tough that we could not eat them! They were ordered medium. Shrimp scampi comes with the shell on and you have to pick through your dinner and remove the shells off of the shrimp, so I don't recommend that. Very messy with the sauce. Other than those meals, I have always enjoyed great food there and the wait staff are all very friendly and helpful. Portion sizes and prices are all good. read more

The first-- and only?-- breakfast spot we've tried since moving to Hanson. When you find something you like that's so close, you just don't bother going anywhere else. Ambiance: Connie's is located in the strip mall near the Hanson Post Office. I could see how one could drive past on 27 without ever knowing it's in there! Inside, is a casual diner-type set up with tables, booths, and a counter with stools. Larger tables are reserved for parties of 5 or more. It can get a little crowded in there, especially on weekends during breakfast time. Bathrooms are clean, but right off the dining areas. Food: Since we've only eaten at Connie's for breakfast, I feel like this review is a bit limited! They have such an expansive menu, including steak tips, clam strips, paninis, and more. I need to branch out! So far, I've tried the standard breakfast combo with linguica (Portuguese sausage similar to chorizo) as well as a standard breakfast combo with regular sausage patties. Jamie's often on the sweeter side of breakfast, choosing french toast at least once. We've always been satisfied by the quantity given with each breakfast platter, and the quality of the food is quite good, as well. Service: Waitresses et al. are profoundly blue-collar and casual (as opposed to "professional"), but that's kind of the "norm" for small town diners. If you want a finer-dining breakfast or brunch experience, you'll have to travel out of town. For your traditional diner breakfast, look no further than Connie's. In summation: a perfectly wonderful small-town diner with good food and reasonable prices. read more

This was the first time I went to Connie's Breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. The food was tasty and cheap. I got the Lumberjack Breakfast which was 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, sausage, and bacon. It was only $6.76 for all of that food. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and the pancakes were good. My boyfriend got the homemade corn beef hash with toast, hash browns, and eggs. The corn beef hash was delicious. I would recommend trying it. The waitress was really nice and the service was quick and friendly. I would definitely go there again. read more

I went in there today completely changed my outlook on the service it was A++++ the waitress Melissa I think her name was was the best waitress that has even waited on me and my family the food still wasn't the greatest but the waitress make every effort to make it right I know she doesn't cook the food but definitely will be coming back as long as she's there now they just need someone who knows how to cook! read more

I was looking for a new regular breakfast place on my way to work since I moved. I noticed this place and said why not give it a try. I should have gone to Dunkin for breakfast! Service was friendly, but slow for not being busy at all. Figured I'd try something basic for my 1st time there. Got 2 eggs over hard, bacon, home fries and toast. Highlight of the breakfast was my coffee and the toast. Eggs were ok. Bacon was overcooked, leathery and definitely not even close to freshly cooked. Home fries were absolutely horrid! Under-boiled potatoes, cut into little cubes with no evidence they even touched the griddle. I wouldn't give Connie's a 2nd chance even if it was someone else buying my breakfast. read more

I went to Connies because I had a discount from restaurant.com I really liked this place. I like to go to what I call "hole in the wall" places, and this was sure one. The waitress we had was very nice, the food came out fast and they actually had Franks Red Hot sauce instead of the "other" stuff restaurants usually have. That made my day. My third visit to Connie's and it was great. I'm happy they are doing takeout during this tough time and it was so worth my trip down from the city. We were seated and given drinks immediately. However, it took over 20 minutes (I am being generous with the time as it gets worse.) We had to flag the waitress down to let her know we were ready to order, mind you she walked by our table 5 times and saw that we were ready, but made no attempt to take our order. Finally took our order, very basic, a ham and cheese omelet for my husband, and I had 2 eggs with hash and we split a side of sausage. While we were waiting, there was a table next to us that was still had the dishes left over from a party of five. The bus boy comes by to clear the table, instead of wiping the food off the table into the dishpan, he pushes the food, straw wrappers on the floor and benches. When he left, the bench was wet were he set the dish pan on and food all over the other bench. The owner comes by and sees the mess and ask him to clean it up, so he proceeds to wipe the food on the floor and in the meantime hitting me in the leg with the food from the benches, leaving the food and straw wrappers on the floor. So a 1/2 hour goes by and no breakfast, and no waitress, only time we saw her was to take our order, she did not even stop by to say that where our order was. We saw people who arrived after us eat and get out the door before we even saw our plates. Our waitress never came to check on us or ask if we wanted are drinks refilled. My husband goes to find the owner to ask what is going on, this is where it gets worse, he comes over to our table and says, "Sir this is one of our busy days so you have to expect the wait". This is coming from the owner himself. Five minutes later another waitress comes over with our order and apologizes for the wait and ask if we wanted more coffee. She was the only one who apologized. A little while later our original waitress comes by and says, "I m going to leave you the check so you don't have to chase me down" Food was subpar, sausage was almost burnt, and they promote that their sausage is the best because it is homemade. First time here and probably will be my last with all the better breakfast places around the area. When we got there nobody was in the restaurant we didn't even see a waitress until we stood at the door for a few minutes until she told us to sit wherever. Then she brought our drinks and coffee I asked for creamer with my coffee and she brought over a little pitcher with it. But later I saw her give a "regular" that came in later a bowl of individual creamers. The food was ok not too great they advertise homemade hash and from the looks of it there was no way it was homemade. The food also wasn't very hot which I would have told my waitress had she ever came over to refill coffees or check on food. She seemed more interested in talking to the other waitress about switching days they worked. We had to go to the register to get the bill. Terrible service and ok food. read more

I just finished reading the 2 other revies for this place and I can not believe they are the same place. This Connie's was absolutely terrible! I love breakfast and I was in Pembroke at my girlfriends parents house. They offered to take us to breakfast. First the homefries were the store bought frozen types that werent even cooked enough. I ordered the special crabcake with eggs benedict. I thought the crabcake were going to be homemade but they were also frozen store bought and just plain terrible. I ate only the eggs which weren't that bad. Somebody's glass had lipstick on it. Gross! All in all it was the worst breakfast I ever had. I wish i could give 0 stars. read more

I am sad to say that I am taking a ton of stars from this once great place, in the three years I have been going to this place I went from loving it to liking it to starting to look for new places to outright avoiding it. I love how close I live to this place and that is a bout it. The food has gone wayyyy down the tubes, the home fries are no longer seasoned, the eggs benedict is something you would laugh at and send back, that is if your server ever came back to check on you. I have no idea what has happened to this place, maybe they saw that Hanson is a small town and has no competitors? Well I found their competition 2 minutes away and have not been back to Connie's ever since, at this point I would rather eat Dunks in my car than eat inside at Connie's. I hope they get themselves fixed in a hurry, the locals are starting to look elsewhere for food. read more

My favorite local, hometown breakfast spot. I have been going since they relocated years ago. Great for a quick breakfast that is consistently delicious. I usually order the same things (eggs, pancakes, etc) however their specials are usually great, too! My last visit I ordered the biscuits and gravy which was good, not the best sausage gravy I've ever had but it was good nonetheless.
