We got here at630 pm and this was 6tables out doors with people who had been there drinks. It took service to 30min to come over to take the drinks order in to get it was 23 minutes late for food order to take was 725 pm it came out right when we had Mike take over then the Woman was was service was all over and she had no idea how to get help from the manager or person who has this place. read more

Came to Pembroke, MA from Southern, NH to pick up an antique from a resident. Arrived early to avoid the traffic and so stopped off at A Tavern Somewhere Else in Pembroke, MA. We were pleasantly surprised that this rural town has such a lovely restaurant with amazing food and service. It's in an old home, giving it a country-friendly feel. I love finding places like this. My wife and I started with the corn bread (moist and delicious, with butter and honey) and the "Not-your-mama's meatballs," with a great texture and sauce. For dinner we had the Bolognese (beef, pork, veal...pasta and a tasty homemade sauce), and the Tavern Burger with bacon, cheddar and a thousand-island-type special sauce. The burger was so delicious. And it came with a trio of fried - string, steak and tater-tot fries. We had such a wonderful meal in this quaint home-style restaurant, a tavern you might have seen a century ago! we had a family function at the Somewhere Else Tavern last night. it was held in the tent with about50 guests. From start to finish everything was perfect. the food was delicious and plentyful and the staff was ver friendly and helpful. Abner and I took a drive through the country and had lunch at the Somewhere Else Tavern before heading to Plymouth. There was an Oktoberfest Menu, and everyone on the Facebook site had commented on the schnitzel, so we tried it. They were right! This was done to perfection. For dessert, we tried the pumpkin mousse cake and that was great too. The food was so enjoyable, but there are other reasons why I give 5 stars to this place. The bartender who served us was friendly and answered all of our questions about the restaurant (and other places nearby that are owned by the same people). Another reason is there are many options for your side dishes. Some different ones too. I got the roasted butternut squash, which was amazing. I loved the decor of different animals drinking cocktails. Portions were huge. I was told there is live entertainment on the weekends. We will definitely go back again. A nice find for us. I don't often have cause to give a 5 star review to any establishment but feel I must! After a week to end all weeks, Mike greeted us with a smile and seated us promptly. The menu is extensive and varied giving my husband and I the chance to order exactly what we want: his favorite burger and my choice of comfort food, chicken supreme. I asked about desserts at the beginning as I had been very disappointed with our Thanksgiving dinner at a Vermont resort that did not include any pie!! Not on the menu, Mike asked if apple pie would suffice!! The burger was spot on, onion strings were shared, chicken fried to perfection with the just the right gravy over red bliss mashed potatoes and a fresh green bean carrot mix. And yes, a hearty slice of apple pie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, it doesn't get much better! As a mad decorator for the Christmas Season, I was thrilled with the touches of cheer all around. Each table has a small tree which I noticed nearly every patron picking up and commenting on. The art on the walls reflects the season and brings a smile to even the most worn out of those who enter. Just the right amount of hubbub so you can carry on a conversation with your dining partner and a duo was setting up for live music - only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! This place sounded so promising, but unfortunately we were not impressed. My husband and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We ordered the pretzel for an appetizer. It was warm and soft as expected but nothing thrilling. The beer cheese sauce it was served with tasted like it came out of a jar or a can. I ordered the baked haddock for my meal with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The fish was bland and flavorless. Mashed potatoes were average/forgettable and the vegetables were my favorite part, but overall nothing special. I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm sure there is better quality food near by somewhere else. read more

We wanted to like this place as the same owners run Fork In the Road deli just down the street on Route 27 which has excellent sandwiches such as the Pilgrim and others. So we tried the takeout first for Somewhere Else and the pizza is above average I'd say from the two times we've tried it but we were disappointed with the serving size of the boneless chicken wings for takeout but they were tasty, just not enough of them to make it worthwhile. Then we bought a Groupon for inside dining and tried it on a Sunday night. They had music trivia going on which was fun and good selection of draft beers. My spouse had a salad with chicken which she really enjoyed. However my choice of fish and chips was a poor one because both the sandwich and fries were both overcooked, very bad. read more

Good atmosphere and service but wasn't impressed with food quality or portions; medium rare burger was over cooked and my baked scallops over rice were subpar-rice was better than the scallops which was a small portion for the price. French onion soup didn't come close to being considered good compared to local restaurants recently tried. Pretzel were a great appetizer, steak tips were a bit undercooked, veggie burger was basically tasteless (need to find a better choice) I (being vegetarian) would love a few more options but I guess it's basically "pub fair". We go here often. Never had a problem until today. With our 9 year old son we were there for over 2 hours for pretzels sticks, a pizza and burger. It wasn't that busy when we got there. We had to ask a few times where is our food. They gave us a free drink, which I couldn't finish since the boy was bored and wanted to leave. We paid the bill and all was good! We were not rude. We went out the back door since it was closer to our car and raining. The manager came out the front door with a mean face on. Waiting for us to pull up. He made us stop to yell at us that we didn't close the back door behind is. Really you are busy and serves and taking forever. You have the time to come be rude to us! Have been going to Somewhere Else since it opened. Lately, I've noticed the food is hit or miss, but the service is outstanding. Also, when it is hot outside, the 2 window air conditioners, just don't keep up, and it gets warm and uncomfortable inside. Walk in, no host. Right off the bat I'm annoyed! We get sat on dinner side. Our table was right up against a window of walls where another table was right up against so it was like you were sitting with strangers divided by glass. I ordered the chicken bruschetta which was good. My husband ordered ribeye with mashed. Ribeye was chewy and mashed tasted like instant potatoes. Waste of $28.00 meal. The worst part of the experience was the service. We had Bri. She had three tables total and was very slow and inattentive. She spent most of her time chatting with a big party instead of checking on her other tables. When she did decide to ask if we needed anything, she had a chill, laid back attitude like serving was an afterthought. There is not enough to bring me back to this place. read more

Nice place with bold/funky decor and good separation between the busy bar and the regular dining area. We've been a few times now for lunch. They offer creative specials in addition to their pretty straight-forward tavern menu. The last time we went, I didn't notice the specials on the blackboard until after I had placed my order and the owner happened to hear me mention the ravioli special that had caught my attention a bit too late. Went there for dinner a few weeks ago. The food was above average pub grub. I enjoyed the bar pizza and my wife liked her burger. WOW! I ordered a house burger and almost didn't finish it! It was so good that I did though!! Reasonable prices, wait staff was good too. Glassware and silverware were clean and no chips or bends. Been planning a visit to this place to try out their rotating international menu. When we got there apparently that isn't as big a deal as Facebook makes it out to be since they had like one appetizer left and really couldn't see any sign of the international menu as an option. We decided to just go with the flow and order off of the regular menu. My wife got baked stuffed shrimp and I got fish and chips. The waitress wasn't very attentive and we saw people who came in well after us getting their food. Thought maybe the baked stuff took a while so we were patient. When the food came I spot it across the table that it was some crappy food service bake stuffed shrimp that was very pale and not really cooked to a tasty sizzling condition. Tried to make the best of it and her shrimp were actually cold in the middle. My fish and chips were so over cooked that the fish actually became a crunchy jerky like substance. clearly they cooked it way too long trying to get the stuffed shrimp done. There were a few bites that was actually like fish but for the most part it was like a Cheeto. Tried to send the shrimp back which she just grabbed the plate and walked away with no explanation or anything. Came back and drop the plate with no "hope that's better" or apology. It wasn't any better so we pain and left. Don't go. Plenty of people looked happy around us looks like the steak tips are big hit as were a few other things. Maybe they're too ambitious with menu but if they can't put out a good meal they should take it off the menu. Don't go! read more

First timer & had a great experience, good atmosphere, incredible food & friendliest staff. We will definitely be back again.
