It was good. I tried the sampler plate and the Italian pizza. The waitress was very nice, but the hostess didn't seem to care. Random fact: if you're biking the Claire Saltonstall Trail from Boston to Provincetown, and you're stopping for lunch on day 1, this is good location to do it. read more

We have eaten here several times and the food is great. The bar is a little small and we always eat at the bar so often have to skip this place because they get really crowded. We actually prefer the service at their sister restaurant right around the corner Lyonville Tavern. read more

We have been to Grill 58 several times and enjoyed the food and service however we will not return because of this restaurant's policy. We dined there last week and I ordered Fish & Chips but asked if I could have double cole slaw rather than french fries. The waitress said there could be no substitutions but if I wanted extra cole slaw I could buy a side order. We then spoke to the manager with the same response. I did'nt feel I should have to pay for extra cole slaw when I did not have french fries and all the restaurants in the area are more than happy to substitute to please the customer. We will just take our business elsewhere. read more

This is a nice place. The food is good but lacks some flavor to make it great.

I have always wanted to try this place ever since the doors opened, and never got the chance. I finally dragged myself in there AND I loved it. I've have been back a few times and never had anything bad. I am in love with their scallop plate. The waitstaff are overall friendly and pretty quick. Pricing may be a tad high, but the portions are so large that I get a lunch the next day out of them. Delicious!!!! I highly recommend this place! read more

Best restaurant in town. Always great food and service. Best boneless buffalo chicken! Do yourself a favor and try them out. Everything we've had has been delicious! read more

Best chicken supreme I have had in a long time!! Nice place to dine in or take out !!

Awful experience. Spent a lot of money for 7 meals for my family and my father who was visiting from Florida. We Waited 45 mins for our meals to be ready for take out. When I got home ( I live five mins from the restaurants )and we opened everything up and started to eat the meals we all were extremely disappointed. My daughters meal tasted like soap , my husband had the seafood medley and it was was tiny and mostly breadcrumbs. What fish was in there was rotten. My poor husband was sick within hours of eating it. My other daughter ordered a cheese pizza and it was dripping with grease and was inedible. We ordered 3 cheddar melt burgers , all were over cooked and onion rings that came with it were not cooked at all. Some were even cold.... My son's girlfriends meal was completely wrong and not what we ordered. When we reached out to the restaurant we were treated with rude remarks and were told that they do not give refunds, they would remake the meals if we brought it all back . By that time all the meals but the incorrect one was in the trash because it was awful. My son ended up driving back to the restaurant to bring back his girl friends meal that was completely wrong. He was met with hostility and rude remarks being made by the wait staff when he was nicely explaining how bad everything was. He asked for a refund for the meal that was wrong and was told that they can remake it or give him a gift card.. Why would we want a gift card after we were treated so badly ? My son told them that he would like the money back and they finally did refund but were extremely unpleasant about it..I reached out the next day to talk to the owner to discuss the poor customer service, the fact that we were served rotten fish that made my husband sick and extremely rude remarks made to my son when he brought back the meal that was wrong.. . As I feel if you have issues you should always talk to the source to sort things out before writing a review. I was told the owner was "unavailable" to speak with and that I definitely get a call back but I am still waiting days later. I am not one to typically complain on a site like this but after spending $125 , being treated so badly and reaching out to the owners to discuss the terrible customer service and awful meal with no reply it is frustrating. I am sad to say I will never spend my money at this restaurant again. read more

My Girlfriend Barb and Myself have been coming to Grille 58 since June 2018, we eat out sometimes between 2 to 4 times a week, we would go sometimes to three different Restaurants in the course of a week, we have pretty much narrowed it down to one, being Grille 58, I can honestly say we have been here no less than 25 times since the beginning of June and have had no less than EXCELLENT SERVICE, EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT MENUE, along with warm greetings! Usually by this time I start getting sick of going to the same place and need to change it up a bit, I can't say that about Grille 58, they've got to much to offer so you never get sick of anything! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Great food and great service. Can't wait to go back. I little blah inside but with the good food who cares.

Service was great the waitress and hostess were super nice. The food was not good. The steak tips were chewy soggy like they cook a big batch and they sit together in a pan and are given a quick toss on the grill. The chicken fingers were lots of cartilage and were not made in house. Fish was over cooked but the best of the food. Onion rings are a flakey crust not a good batter. Drinks were cold and cheap I guess that was the plus. read more

This is one of our favorite places. We were already going to Grille 58- so worth the trip-before we ever knew we'd be moving to Halifax. It was suggested to us and we pass it on whenever we can. We have not been disappointed. The chicken tenders and chicken parm are so good! The staff is very friendly. Customer service is so important and they are excellent. We still have many items to try. We seem to get the same thing!! Just plain yummy!! read more

We decided to try this place on a whim, and we won't be going back. Our bartender was very pleasant and attentive, but the food was not very good. Very plain and nothing special at all. Also the owner was standing behind the bar chatting with her friends very loudly the ENTIRE time we were there. It was very annoying and a big turn off for us. Never again! read more

The locals keep this as a hidden gem! Try the haddock, fried or baked, both are great!

I live in buzzards Bay surrounded with great seafood resturants then I go to Halifax and get the best clams I ever had go figure the place is great 0 ya they got keno to read more

Food was adequate. However, this was my mother's 91st birthday lunch.A friend (who is on the list for a heart transplant) and her arrived a few minutes before two of us and were denied seating although the restaurant had only one occupied table. Carmen, apparently the manager was very rude and showed no respect to "guests". When contacted, the owners were equally rude, just claiming this was their policy. They cannot seem to be flexible toward the elderly. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! There are several options in the area run by sensible owners who care about their customers. read more

After reading many positive reviews I decided to give grill 58 a try. They did not disappoint! Wow 3 of us had ordered different seafood dishes and all 3 of us agreed our dishes were spectacular. Service was good but food was great. Place was clean, comfortable and not very loud which was a plus. Great for conversations and friends getting together. read more

Went there with another couple on a Friday night. Arrive at 7:45 and had a twenty-minute wait for a table. The restaurant was doing a very good business. The hostess and male waiter were both attentive and very nice. My combination haddock and scallop dish was plentiful and very tasty. Another dish ordered was a seafood international. The two diners who tried this dish were vocal about how delicious was this meal. My other companion enjoyed the chicken parmigiana . The portion size was plentiful and the prices reasonable. We will return. read more

went to grille 58 in halifax a couple weeks ago there was a flood in the bathroom and they seated us next to it which had an overpowering odor so we asked to be moved. the new location had 5 flies buzzing around constantly so that we had to cover our food with napkins and plates. the seafood neptune pasta was very mushy and overcooked and the lobster meat was frozen tough and an unpleasant texture. the reuben sandwich was good. went again yesterday for lunch the flies were still there! food was pretty good but the lunch portions have shrunk and the price has increased 30% from a few months ago. they also are now charging for a roll. we had always liked it there but this was just a bit too much. the owner and manager did not respond to any feedback...the only comment was that they cant get rid of the flies... read more

We have visited several times and were going to celebrate my wife's birthday with 9 people. We arrived early as they don't take reservations and waited for seats at the bar. Two seats opened and we stood behind a couple paying their bill. We went to sit in those seats and the woman next to the seats pulled my wife's seat and said that it was taken. The owner came over and sat in tthe seat I told the lady that my wife was siting there and she said no she is not. We immediately left and called our friends and had a great dinner elsewhere. Why the owner is sitting at a crowded bar when customers don't have seats is just plain rude. read more

Monday night is Italian night, $12.95 for an app, entree, and dessert! Can't beat that! The portions were perfect! Chicken Marsala was one of the best I've ever had ! My boyfriend had the stuffed manicotti and he loved it. We will definatly be back for Italian night read more

Had a not so great meal on Mothers Day. The service could have been better if they had staffing to support the busy day. Our waitress did her very best and was pleasant even when I sent my meal back because it was over salted pasta was soggy and the swordfish was overlooked. I enjoyed sharing a meal with others and they removed it from the bill. I am going to try them again because I have heard great things about them from friends. Nice atmosphere for families too! Very accommodating toward my little ones. read more

I ate here for lunch with a friend. I ordered a whole clam roll special and unfortunately got the clam strip roll in error. The waitress offered to reorder but I didn't because I didn't want to hold up my friend. She probably should have comped my meal. My friend got the scallop roll. The portions were generous and the price very reasonable. The seafood was great. Prior to this I have gotten takeout from here numerous times. I have ordered clam chowder (delicious), clams, burgers (really good and cooked as requested), fish sandwich, and pizza. Everything has been tasty. The owner and service is efficient and pleasant. The only drawback is that for takeout pickup, you are really in the way. My husband often doesn't like to go into a busy restaurant to pick up takeout. If there were a different way to pick up (somehow closer to the door, or a window, or from the back), we would definitely go more often. I have recommended Grill 58 to friends who have also been pleased with the food and service. One of my friends said the server was very accommodating to her child which she appreciated. She has gone back at least a couple of times. The restaurant is always busy so you know they're doing something right. Happy to have you in Halifax. read more

Grille 58 has fast become one of our favorites for lunch or dinner. Their menu is fresh and reasonable. The food is always done right and is delicious! The place has a wonderful cozy and comfortable atmosphere and staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. The home-made ginger bread is to die for! If you're going on a weekend, get there early! The place gets packed! read more

Was there for the first time today with a friend, we had been out running errands and shopping and just wanted a light lunch. Our waitress was rather curt, and when I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich, she said, "We don't have grilled cheese". I said in disbelief, "you don't?" She retorted, "You don't see it on the menu do you?" Looking back now, it was at that point that I wish we had just gotten up and left. We could have stopped at Shaw's on the way home and picked up a tomato, I had bread and cheese at home. But we stayed, and I ordered the quesadilla without chicken (in effect- a grilled cheese!) My friend was trying to order a deli club, with wheat bread, was told they don't have wheat, when she asked for another type she was told that they would charge extra for exchanging the bread. I mean honestly, did we come there for an arguement? The food WAS good, and there were plenty of fries, and (side oder of) onion rings, however, the light and inexpensive lunch that we wanted turned into a heavy meal that cost us 15 dollars apiece. The music that was playing was kind of muted and mixed with the sound of the televisions at the bar so that the total of the background noise sounded much like an album played backwards. That was most unenjoyable. Not sure I would ever go back, based on the background aggravation noise and the attitude of the waitress. I also didn't think the prices were anything to rave about. read more

Wow. This place was recommended to us by the polaris dealer down the road, boy am I glad! It's been awhile since we've ventured out of our comfort zone and tried something new but I was pleasantly surprised. Unassuming little diner type place in a strip mall??? I wouldn't have stopped on my own, but after the recommendation and checking out the lunch specials on the menu on my phone, I was willing. The food was fresh, the fried scallops were large, juicy and not greasy at all, the onion rings were like homemade, not frozen, my wedge salad was super fresh and cold and plenty of bacon, my fish chowder was just right, not too thick and not thin. What more can I say? The waitstaff was super friendly. I wish we lived closer because this would be a weekly stop for us. I wasn't too crazy about all the TVs, (right on your table???) but I understand this is what draws a night/sports crowd, and it's a personal preference for me, so don't let this stop you. For such a great lunch, I can live with it! read more

Delicious drinks, good food and semi-friendly service. The wait can be VERY long sometimes for a table, and the hostess can be a bit snappy. Also, only go for dinner. They are open Sunday mornings for breakfast, but their breakfast is gross read more

We have eaten at this restaurant many many times since it has opened. Usually the food is good. However, twice in this time, we have had to send food back, and instead of apologizing, the manager comes over to your table and berates you. Last night, we sent a steak back that was undercooked and she proceeded to come over and tell us that she cut into it and it was fine. Ruined our night. Do not like paying to go out to eat and then be scolded. One time, sent chicken back as it had no white meat and it was supposed to and she came out and told us she cut into it, and it had been plated upside down and was fine. (They plated it not us.) Should not be made to feel bad when it is their fault. She never apologizes. read more

To start, the food at this place is well priced with considerable portion sizes. For a drink, I ordered the sweetened iced tea, which tasted homemade, but was overwhelmingly sweet. It tasted as if it had been doused with Splenda, and not even the lemon could cut through it. My entree was the chicken broccoli alfredo without the chicken. The sauce lacked that smooth velvety quality that I normally associate with alfredo, but the flavour was there. My brother ordered the fish and chips, and so I tried some of his fries; tremendously under seasoned. This is one of my biggest pet peaves. Serve me food the way you want me to eat it! I read in another review that the food is not seasoned for people with dietary concerns. Just like with most dietary needs, low sodium can be met on a need by need basis. I have talked to many people who agree, it is uncomfortable to salt your food at the table. Food came out quickly, but the overall service was slow. The waitress was slow getting drinks and the check. To top it off, her constant use of honey, sweetie, and dear was more uncomfortable than welcoming. Despite sounding harsh, it is one of the better resturants in the area, but it is very hit or miss. read more
