I only give four stars bc my mom and I were starving and had to wait ten-15 minutes at an off time in the afternoon. Otherwise, everything was Delish with a capital D!! We got the veggie platter and the chicken platter. The seasoned basmati rice was just like my Pakistani neighbor used to make it and when I tasted it, I instantly missed her, it was that good. The salad had a delicious dressing and we liked the seasoning they sprinkled on the kabobs. We wound up taking a box of it home since we left probably half of our platters untouched, it was such a generous portion. Well, we are two little ladies so that may be part of it! Being the only Kebab place in the mall you may feel like you have no choice but to eat at this place. But health before taste. Just went to the mall over the weekend and ordered a chicken kebab platter. The food is mediocre, but that really depends on your preferences and experience with Afghan food. I'm here to warn everyone that I saw an employee use her BARE hands to touch and serve salad on every plate. I was so shocked that I couldn't speak. I later called and spoke to a 'manager' who told me to go back so she'd give me something free! Unbelievable! When I told her that's not why I called and that I want to report this health hazard, she came up with the excuse that she had people in training! Needless to say I won't be eating at a place that does not care about basic health regulations. read more

Grill Kabob has the best chicken kabob and bread that I have ever had, and I have tried them all over the area. They have a white sauce and a green (hot) sauce that mix together to form the most perfect sauce for the chicken and rice. I live in Arlington, VA and drive to Springfield once or twice a week (sometimes even in rush hour traffic) to have this wonderful meal! Also, the staff is extremely nice and extra helpful! I like the food, the taste and they are always busy so it is definitely fresh. My only complain is the amount of salt they use in food is too much. Suggest replacing salt with other spices for spicing it up a little. Or keep the rice unsalted so they even out with kababs. Even my kids keep drinking water throughout the day after eating here. Let me start by saying that the food is good. We had the Gyro and the lamb wrap. Both tasted very authentic and flavorful. Now let's delve a little deeper. The meat was amazing however there was no yogurt sauce. What gives. Instead we received two little cups of what looked like ranch and tasted like tangy ranch. The naan was also very good and the veggies, good. We also had the samosas and in the picture it shows two but you only get one and taste, well, OK at best. The biggest problem we had was the time it took to get our food. We arrived at 8:43 and, with no one else there, we got our food at 9:08 and the person who came after us got their food before us. Huge portions, really yummy food. The prices are a little high for a mall food court, but we were easily able to make two meals out of ours, so it evens out. Will absolutely come back, it's always nice to find a high quality local substitute to the chain restaurants. read more

I got out of the Chipotle line to try this and I'm glad I did. I had the chicken kebob, and it was delicious. The chicken, rice, chickpeas were all very flavorful. I loved the white sauce (tahini?). Flat bread was good as well. The green salad looked a bit old (brown edges on the lettuce) so I didn't eat it. I understand why restaurants feel the need to give something green to go along with the meal, but they could leave this out and I would be just as happy. If someone from the restaurant is reading this, maybe think of substituting the green salad for some tabouleh or that middle eastern cucumber salad. I lived in the middle east for 2 years, and this is the best kebob I've had outside of that area read more

Messiest, but one of the tastiest, chicken kabob sandwiches I've had. Why are people in line for chipotle?!

Pretty darn good, lads! A bit over priced for what it is but it's delicious and fast.

Solid. For a food court, A+. Like that numerous immigrants seem to frequent the place.

Avoid. Slowest service in the food court. Had to wait 20 minutes for a simple gyro wrap.

I usually come here on a weekly basis, with my family and get the beef kabob for me and my girlfriend. I've been to several other kabob places, bread and kabob, z kabob, kabob villa, etc. But this place has the best kabobs I've ever had and love the two separate basmati rice they put on your plate. As an Afghan, I am severely disappointed in this place. First, when going to order I see the cashier arguing with a 16 or 17 year old customer about sauce. That should've been the first sign, but foolishly I thought that it would be fine. After ordering and waiting 15 minutes for the food (second offence), they proceed to put my orders in plates instead of a to-go containers (third offence). I informed them that I wouldn't be eating at the mall and show them that my receipt says to-go. Instead of putting it in containers they proceed to wrap the plate in aluminum foil and give it to us. I was in a rush and didn't say anything, but when I got home I realized that they shorted us on chickpeas and didn't include any Nan/bread (final and biggest offence). Every kabob place whether Afghan, Pakistani, Iranian, etc. includes Nan. At this point I'm fuming and call them. After trying 3 times they finally answer and say that it happens and if I come back they'll give us Nan. If I'm spending $30 (2 meals) this shouldn't happen. Save yourself a headache and go to one of the many other Afghan Kabob restaurants within a 5 minute drive. read more

This is by far the best kabob places I've been to. I go every week and when I do go, I always get the beef kabob. Always look forward to it! Now, people rip about the yogurt sauce, but I love it. Very good place with nothing to complain about. The food is excellent and fresh while being ready in less than 10 minutes. You get plenty of food on your plate and it will easily fill you up. The serving size is huge. I thought it was a little pricey at first, but there was enough for two meals. I ordered a chicken wrap. The bread was good and the chicken was flavorful. The white sauce was tasty and was enough to dip my whole wrap into. I waited five minutes for my food, but I prefer to have it fresh instead of sitting on a warming pan. read more
