Why are such good takeaway places only in Brampton? This Vegetarian takeaway only place is named…read moreafter Ganpati/Vinayak (Elephant God) is undiscovered gem for me. For us it worth the drive to Brampton to pickup some food. We were delivering a wide variety of foods for an important family event and our goal was to pick up 20 different items. We ended up picking close to 40'items. The onion pakoras (20/10, yes not a typo), masala Idli, thaali with tamarind rice or lemon rice (both 10/10 and a slight up charge), all the veg curries, medu vadas, spinach medu vadas, samosas, fritters, stuffed breads, and oh those desserts - some mango flavoured, coconut and more. And the best almost all of things that we bought happened to be Vegan! There was raita and some dahi wadas that had yogurt. And get these, we did not buy masala dosas, regular idlis, puttus, noodles and pasta (yes they had pasta, probably Tamil or Sri Lankan style) and so much more. Wonder how many times I will have to make a trip to try everything here.

Ordered a take away of 3 masala dosas, 5 idli, samosa and portion of spring roll…read more The food was bagged cold - so you have to heat the sambhar it at home. Now issue is the dosa became soggy due to the steam. Longer it stayed wrapped more soggy it got. Would be ideal that they're wrapped just at collection and sambhar is given hot in container. That way can unwrap and eat straight away. Samosa and spring roll small baby sized. I will say though samosa filling was tasty as was the dosa filling. In fact the dosa was full! I rated at 3 originally but gave 4 given the amount of filling in the dosa - I look forward to restaurant opening so I can eat their dosa there and then. Will revisit!

I used to drop by this plaza often. It would mainly happen after work when I'd be driving home…read more Businesses at this plaza are spread out. The businesses that I frequented the most were Burger King, Mark's, McDonalds, Wok of Asia, and Factory Direct. Ever since I have been working from home during this pandemic, I rarely visit this area. After working from home last Wednesday, I needed to head into Mississauga to run an errand, Driving home, I realized that I needed a grocery store. I remembered Panchvati Supermarket. It was a few doors down from Factory Direct. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. I got there just before 7 pm. There is always plenty of parking. I parked and walked in. I was greeted with bins of Indian snacks. I swear that I stood there, looking at all the brightly coloured snack packages, for a good five minutes. I eventually got a bag of bhel mix snacks. I came here to get a hand of bananas. I normally hit Giant Tiger, as prices are the cheapest around. I got more expensive bananas here that came up to just over $3. I was okay shelling out a bit more than usual. I love checking out any grocery store for the first time. The produce section was cool. It's not every day that you see an entire aisle full of huge bags of onions! I also spent a lot of time looking at packaged noodles. Veggie Hakka noodles. Hong Kong spicy garlic noodles. Noodles without onions or garlic. Lots of noodles! I was impressed. It was neat seeing bottles of Horlicks from the UK. I learned from a friend that Indian folks often spell the brand as Horlics. I asked her why the k is dropped. She simply said to mess with you... haha! The spices section is extensive. I have never been so mesmerized looking at every spice package. It was easier for me to figure out what spices I do have at home. While I was lining up, I looked at the hot samosas, spring rolls, and puffs. A man was getting a number of samosas. They smelled so good! I had a friendly cashier. He was competent and worked quickly. I paid using a debit card. I tapped and was done. He bagged my items and handed me my receipt. I wished him a good night and he reciprocated. I have been driving past this supermarket for years. It was nice that I finally dropped by to check it out. It's quite the gem in this nondescript plaza. I'll definitely come back to dive further into the snacks and noodles. (8)

They have an excellent Basmati rice section and lots of curries, turmeric, masalas for Indian cooking. They also play very good music inside here. Just now I heard two excellent songs: "Koi VI Nahi" by Shirley Setia and Gurnaza And "Chan Kitthan" by Ayushmann & Rochak Kohli Two of my favorite Indian pop stars.
