I went in for roti, rusks and mogo (cassava) today and stood in line for 20 mins. while two aunties debated whether they needed this or that and how much was this and that. The owner is very polite and patiently listened ... while everyone in line was doing a slow burn. This place specializes in spices, a range of snacks and has everything you need for Indian or Pakistani cooking. His prices are quite reasonable. Almost everything in his shop is imported from South Asia. I saw some fresh paan leaves which had just come in off the plane, from India.

In summary, not a bad place to go for Asian groceries but have to be selective in what you pick to buy.

After the event was over, I did some browsing around the supermarket before I left. It was my first time at any Galleria Supermarket. Think T&T Supermarket, but with Korean goods. I dig supermarkets and this one was cool. It's funny that I pass by the Galleria on Steeles Avenue West, just west of Yonge Street, every week after work. I've never gone in there, mainly because I'd have to do a left turn from Steeles Avenue West. When leaving this place, I'd need to do a left turn without a set of traffic lights. Otherwise, I'd have to do the around-the-block set of right turns. It's just seems so inconvenient. If I were heading westbound, I'd have better luck. I do like this Galleria. There was a lot of parking. I am also familiar with the area, with California Sandwiches around the corner. I saw massive tubs of kimchi. When you see so many varieties of kimchi and the vessels to have it ferment if you make your own, you know that you're in a good supermarket with everything that you need. I liked seeing travel utensil kits with chopsticks, spoons, and more. I got stuck in the housewares section, looking at plates, bowls, kettles, frying pans, rice cookers, and more. I love small appliances. It was so tough tearing myself out of this part of the store. I had a can of Sac Sac from the event. It had peeled grapes in it. It was so good that I know I'll return to this supermarket just for this product alone. So good! I frankly would like to live in this supermarket. It has heat-and-eat items. Known as the largest Korean grocer in Canada, this location has all your usual products you can find including hot/prepared food section as well as a beauty section in the front. The prepared food section includes fried chicken, buns, sushi, breads, and other small snacks. Opened on May 8th where many people toured the space. Great supermarket for any of the Asian groceries you need! There definitely will be competition with the neighbouring smaller Korean grocery stores, however price wise, they are about the same. Definitely check out the new location if you can!

I put it in tinfoil when I got home and crisped it up some more in the oven. We bought the last one. It's quite delicious and a really good deal given a single portion of fish and chips is easily $15 alone and this is like 2-3 portions of fried fish. Though it can get a bit greasy. Give it a try.
